I have a feeling this is a second stage landing vehicle that is used to bring in supplies, After the combat vehicles secured the beach head. If it is more efficient than a hover craft then it can be used to ferry supplies. Definitely looks like the intended use of this vehicle. It would be great for infiltrating up rivers and swampy areas though.

LCACs can do it without noticing whats the problem. And will be a lot faster. And hugelly faster if the ice its not hard enough to resist the weight. Anyway, usually icebreakers are used to clear the path for merchant ships, and the UHAC cant do it.
also,im sure the UHAC will have a big problem if it stops and water gets frozen on the chains.

Would the UHAC be les vulnerable to small arms fire compared to the LCAC?
I assume the Skirt of the LCAC could take a few hits but in the end would lose it's lifting ability.
It seems the UHAC could lose several of it's track segments and still function.
A full sized one would have to be immense.

Those LCAC are faster and can load less weight, but they got more space. And there no need to get that deep into land to release nice troops. For the new UHAC its excellent to transport tanks due its double weight cap. and slow speed it also can secure move over higher waves. For transport of light vehicles or personel is useless to use UHAC due it slow speed. -100%
