Michael Kosta traveled to Oakland, where RFK Jr. finally announced mega-donor tech billionaire and surfer Nicole Shanahan as his VP pick. But Jr.'s supporters seem just as unsure about Shanahan as they are about vaccines. #DailyShow #RFKJr #Comedy

Healthy soil and regenerative agriculture. Well, not against that.

@@briannelson27 that's not factual. However, the big thing with permaculture is that it's more labor intensive because you won't have acres upon acres of the same crop that can be managed with large agricultural machines.
Great. You do realize that even people not voting for Mr. Anti-vax are also in favor of healthy food?
@@Butterratbee Do you disagree, or…?
It's sad we live in a country that mocks an attempt to give people more choice. Whether you like or dislike RFK Jr., more choice is beneficial for everyone.
Not this time around. People capitalizing on "more choice" this year will only throw the election enough to barely give Trump the EC votes he needs to get 270. Once Trump is back in office, we can all throw away the dream of *any* choice because in a fascist dictatorship the elections are shams where votes for anyone other than the dictator and his hand picked yes men literally do not count. To preserve any number of choices higher than "1" going forward, we the people must vote for Biden this year. He is the only person running who could realistically get more votes than trump. RFK Jr. has zero chance of being elected, but definitely can spoil the election in favor of Trump, resulting in the END of choice in this country.
I mean, RFK is a lunatic, so i kinda get the mockery. But yeah, the actual people in this segment seemed okay. I don't really feel great making fun of them.
The mocking is for RFK JR. Not for an independent ticket.
@@DrTomCruisin can you back up your claim of his lunacy with some evidence?
@@DrTomCruisin I’d also like to know what warranting you have to prove RFK is a “lunatic.” As far as I’m aware, he’s admitted when he’s been wrong, he’s in favor of people understanding the long-term effects of what they put in their body, he’s concerned about the economy, he wants to end the disease epidemic in this country, he’s concerned about the debt that each citizen has taken on both privately, and at the federal level, etc… I agree with a lot of what the Daily Show puts out, but this is a hit piece… I have yet to hear either President Biden or Trump talk about their positions on any of those issues. It’s all, “the other guy is detrimental, vote for me.”
Edit: Spelling.
Well, to be fair, his reasons for his VP pick, which is more or less to make America healthier, is a lot more rationale than literally anything trump has ever said about anything, ever.
Low bar. Veeeeeery low bar.
I cannot wait for the Trump Mini-Me VP pick.
To be fair, he's not accomplishing anything other than spoiling votes and further misinforming gullible people. Even his best intentions are inherently malicious.
Those aren't "reasons". Reasons need a goal, which is a specific achievement. What you listed is a vague aspiration (do you seriously think any POTUS candidate, or just anyone in general, really, wants to make America *less* healthy?) , made all the more ridiculous by the fact that you're taking a definition of "healthier" from a guy who thinks his privileged and unsupported personal opinion over-rides the entire academic history of public health.
Don't be naive, he wants to attract Biden voters, to get Trump elected. Behind his wife, S. Brin, the owner of Alphabet/Google, is acting against the government's antitrust policy. Apple is just the first to be sued. These people are toxic! Marvel supervillains in the flesh.
I respect them for their neutral response to the pick. They didn't blindly support it, blindly hate it, they just admitted they didn't know how to feel.
Independents tend to be like that. They weigh all the options and select the one they believe in the most. They aren't blinded by partisanship.

And Shanahan will be more popular than Kamala in a heartbeat, so this hatchet job will look dumb pretty soon.
Jokes aside, our food quality and our health crisis are directly linked. The angle he was going for is being a proponent of increasing our phyaical wellness, which I think is something we can all get behind
The problem is, he contradicts himself when it comes to his "physical wellness" platform. Vaccines are the single most lifesaving medical advancement of modern life and he tries to voluntarily take us back to when kids routinely died, were left crippled, blind, or otherwise disabled, and when productivity was greatly hampered by these diseases running rampant through communities. Wanting to bring back plagues because he has bought into disproven, nonsense conspiracy theories isn't really an overall win for "physical wellness."

I kept hearing them say things like "I don't know" with a willingness to openly question the party, and less of the blindly confident anger with unflinching obedience to whatever creative narrative is necessary to make Trump seem almost infallible.
I'm not at all convinced by the conspiracy theory arguments RFK Jr, but when I've talked to friends who believe these things, it becomes pretty clear that they actually know what that means and actually, literally, read research and arguments for their position. My Trump supporting friends, on the other hand, have a very short fuse if you question what they believe and it's clear that their idea of 'research' is mostly listening to Trump propaganda peddlers.

The health crisis in America is real, it has been ignored and played down but the numbers don’t lie. We should all want to get to the bottom as to what is causing this and how can we help our people defy this premature debilitating disease process.
And the way to do that is to have a man with no education in medicine or science micromanage the FDA, DHS, the CDC, etc.

Beyond microplastics or obesity (from the provision of unhealthy carb and sugar-filled food), there's no indication that soil deficiency is the cause. The reason RFKJ is a joke on health is because he doesn't understand the issues, he actively misinforms on the issues, and his assertions fall afoul of the scientific community.
Aw yes let’s completely ignore socioeconomic status as also being a main factor and food deserts as well. He cares a lot about capitalism so it completely nullifies his environmental background entirely. We need to have crop rotation and other perennial crops to help with soil health. But machinery also destroys the soil by compacting it. In his own weird and unintentional way RFK Jr is doing it for Democrats by getting some Trump voters to vote for him.
Then the Democrats must be happy and not at worried he will take some votes away from Biden?
Unfortunately the "Antivax" BS is drawing in people from both the right and the left. Before Covid it used to be predominantly liberals that believed in the MMR scare that Andrew Wakefield started in 1998.
And yet, it seems most of them are hippies, patagonia wearing liberals, and other anti-establishment folks. More typical of the left.
No one that supports President Trump would vote for RFK, jr... Ever. 🗽🇺🇸
Actually, the reverse. RFK Jr has some big mega donors who are deliberately funding him while also sending big bucks to Trump. These donors want to split the vote in Trump's favor. And, it will work. Statistically, experts have shown that a vote for RFK Jr or any third party is actually a vote for Trump.
Don't throw your vote away. This election is too important. If you throw your vote away in this election, you are throwing your voting rights away when Trump wins.

As for his VP pick, I can think of no more important purpose than healing people. Of COURSE our food supply is a major problem - I don’t see how anyone could argue against that - and no politician is addressing it with the attention it deserves. Further, her being immersed in technology would be an asset.
