These words struck me hard. I’m German and we life with the shame of the holocaust since 75 years. No Jewish person has to walk down a street that’s named after a Nazi general. The flags were banned for decades. Nazi literature is banned and we have thousands of monuments that remind us of the big suffering we inflicted on innocent people. As a German I life with that shame and all I can do is to take the memories of all the people who got killed and carry it with me. I think white Americans are so afraid to face their shame and to face their inheritance of slavery that they prefer to live in a racist society. That is not like justice works.
White people are allowed to ignore their shame. Black people cant ignore racism.
Today young Israelis love Berlin and move there because it’s so cheap and hip. They don’t like to talk about the holocaust anymore and they are absolutely allowed to ignore what happened. It’s the duty of the grand children and the grand grand children of the murderers to carry the burden of guilt and commemorate the people we as a nation failed horribly. I think white Americans are finally ready to listen. I think black Americans have a lot to talk about.

They really are. I've witnessed this first hand and I'm white. My father called 911 on me when I was suicidal and they came, arrested me for being suicidal, then locked me up in nothing short than an insane asylum that tried to pass as a mental health facility. Seriously faulty judgement there. The sad part is that I hadn't done anything and wasn't going to do anything to myself. This was a way my narcissistic father abused me. Then he'd guilt me for the obligatory $10k the bill would be after insurance. No thank you. Y'all don't know shit about abuse and mental illness, popo. Go have some coffee and eat your donuts and leave us struggling folk the fuck alone!

Fun fact: Monopoly was created as a way to show people that capitalism is inherently unfair and only winnable if you hoard resources. The creator was shocked and dismayed that people didn't get it.
More shocking they actually use it to teach people how to be assholes, how to hoard all the money and get rich at real estate. Like it's supposed to be a good thing. Humans are broken. You can’t look at history, REAL history, and say with a clear conscience that the world today is not a reflection of our past. Yeah. How can anyone have a hard heart when he talks about his very existence being a crime?
He genuinely respects women and especially Black women, having been raised by one. It's refreshingly pure. Plus, it's nice to see that he's never forgotten his humble beginnings/where he comes from. So many of us work so hard, day in + out, to escape our origins for whatever reason. Trevor has never let his true essence go. It's the reason why he's so well-rounded, in my humble opinion. It made me cry; she really struck a chord with her honesty. As a woman, I have dealt with inequality all of my life. As a professional, the men were more interested in my build than my brains. And it's been easy for me compared to my black sisters. We are Sandra Bland.

We all accept the fact that discrimination exists (black and white) to varying degrees in different places but we hear of how terrible things are in the USA with racism causing all sort of made up ills even leading black people to crime in the USA. so it may help but to compare the USA homicide rate with a nearby country with no anti black racism. Few would claim that there is any anti Black racism in Jamaica. Jamaica has a 99% black population and is viewed as a black paradise.
Jamaica's homicide rate for 2018 was 47 per 100 000 .
The USA homicide rate for 2018 was 5 per 100 000
The number of people shot and killed by police in Jamaica in 2018 was 140 in a country with a population of 2.6 million or 0.54 per 100 000.
The number of people of all races shot and killed by the USA police was 991 in a country with a population of 327 million or 0.003 per 100 000. Is this what the world is protesting about? Why has the black lives matter movement not gone to resolve the evil in Jamaica? Where is the free media on this? Are the cops really the problem?
According to an Amnesty International report dated April 2001 they documented many cases of police brutality in Jamaica, some amounting to torture. Victims commonly include criminal suspects and their relatives, as well as children and women. Documented methods have included beatings, burns with hot irons, suffocation in water and mock executions. Where are the international protests?
Does anti black racism in the USA really affect the crime rate? If yes then does the absence of anti black racism have an impact on crime in Jamaica? We have this past week seen the psychological effects of white on black crime on black people in the USA, however what are the Psychological effects (of the black on white crime) on the white people in the USA bearing in mind that robberies with white victims and black offenders were more than TWELVE times more common than vice versa and a white person is about TEN TIMES more likely to be killed by a black person than visa versa.

@AleEvaMari Really glad to hear you say that. I've been thinking that myself and also that any applicant should have their backgrounds checked for prior associations with white supremacists. I also think that any currently employed officers with white supremacists or with known racist attitudes should be fired. I also believe that D.A.'s should also be stripped of their immunity. I mean WTF - who are they to be held as being "above the law"?!

She is a good speaker, also, very good delivery. Even if you only lip-read, you get it quite clearly. Almost mesmerizing speaker, I would say.
Kimberly’s speech is so powerful and beautiful. You can actually feel that accumulative anger of not only the obviously visible tragedies but the “daily indignities.” I get chills when she points out how Black people are looking for “equality and not revenge.” Her words pull everything together...
