- On this episode of Soulmates, we meet Mike and his gray tabby kitten Gracie. When Mike was helping out around his uncle's house on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, he heard little meows coming from inside a wall. He found a tiny 5-week-old kitten all by herself. He took Gracie in, and soon found out she was no ordinary cat when he took her to the beach and she ran right into the ocean to swim with him.

I have a cat that i got when his eyes were just starting to open. And he was a big hunter he would bring home rabbits, squirrels, pheasant, medium sized turkey. He would bring back fish from the lake. He's 22 years old now and is just laying back. He even saved my mom and I from a house fire. He has his own room and a twin size bed. He is the best and greatest cat. And he loves the tub fild with water so he can swim again. Love your cat❤

Cats are simply one of the most incredible things sharing the planet with us and I wish more people understood just how lucky we are they choose to be around us the way they do!!!! Pure joy and love wrapped in a purrrfectly soft coat of fur!!!
They are incredible... if they didn't exist and we found a kitten as cute as this we would think it was from our wildest cuteness imagination... but because there's so many we take them for granted and throw them away 😿

My cat (uh dog 😆) greets me when I come home, and rolls for a belly rub, follows me around the apartment, and has to be wherever I am.
She also knows many words (mostly associated with food), sits for her treats, and snuggles with me when I'm sick (all day with me during my migraines).

Im not one of them but for example by looking at the video very objective it might be that the cat doesn't want to be alone in "new" areas and follows their owner blindlessly - even swimming in fear to stay with her secure family. Salt is not good for cats, they were never swimmers in saltwater in their evolution chain, and so such people thinking like this might dislike the video. Just one example of a point of view, doesn't mean they dont like cats, just means the video might not always be as it seems jsut because it has an overall "feelgood" vibe
for example try watchign the video without any sound - how can you really tell the kitten is happy and not scared ?

I had a Persian cat who would constantly wait by our jacuzzi tub so he could go for a swim. Sometimes if nobody wanted a bath that day, the huge tub would get filled just for him if he could get someone to do it.
I'm convinced he was a fish in a previous life or something because he wanted to be in the water constantly. I had never seen a cat swim before that guy. I had to watch the neighbor's give their cat a bath once & that one loathed water so I had thought cats just didn't like to swim or get wet. Some do.

I had to have my 19 year old cat Lucky put down in October. It dang near killed me. But 19 years was not long enough, he was such a good boy!

Our cat was the best, most docile, most clever of all cats for miles, and even had a huge swath of territory (quite opposed to her sociability with humans - never saw him fight other cats either even though just one of the neighbours below us had 9 cats (no she actually wasn't crazy she -was- is very very nice); we let him roam free in our suburbs however he wanted. And he'd always wait for our car to roll up at a stone higher up and come running when we'd almost parked, meowing, after we'd been away.
He died 16 years old, put down due to constipation problems, a common problem when cats get old.
It was truly one of the absolute saddest days of my 30 year old life when I dug his grave and carried him, I grew up with that guy and he was my friend.
So again, shelter cat and 19-20 years old, I'm very impressed and I _know_ you are a good person just from that, and good with animals :)
