Well considering the 2nd Paw Patrol movie has Sky’s origin story,showing how she wasn’t picked by any families because she was the runt of the litter,it essentially confirms the theory that Ryder is collecting not only stray and orphaned pups,but also ones that were ostracised by other pups.

A purpose given to them as an alternative for being strays. I would like to have a followup on the business becoming corrupt and the pups finally becoming aware that they were being enslaved. An uprising would certainly be a good finale.
Interesting theory.
However, it doesn't take into account the possibility that some former members of the Paw Patrol may have simply grown up and entered a form of retirement, still alive & well.
In line with this thought, it's also possible that the human leader of the group isn't the original founder, but rather was chosen by his predicessor to continue in their place once they entered retirement.

why find a whole new dog and have the others question you about abandoning them when there is a perfectly good dog in amazing shape that's just feeling a bit down. And when they get trapped, the other dogs will want to rescue their friends. It would be way too suspicious for the dogs if Ryder ordered against it. They might realise he doesn't care and that they will be replaced, so they might stop working for him. If he does save or find them, the dogs have zero reason to think that they are replaceable.

As someone who has been working on this show for over a decade, this was a kick to watch! I can verify that the animation team is very much in on the joke that Zuma never gets called on missions (we make internal memes of it all the time XD ). And the Rubble badge on the screen at 5:30 I think was just a straight-up oversight. It was season 1, things got missed. We had no idea at the time it would blow up to the phenom it's become but sure glad it has!

I wondered why they don’t have a medic dog, when there’s an aviation one. Surely in a fantasy kids show even in the US you can pretend EMTs are affordable public service. Edit: MatPat’s theory actually explains this as well. EMTs don’t tend to die during service.
I would theorize (so to speak) that EMT would be the hardest of these jobs to perform without hands.
I'm pretty sure that in some episodes Marshall is the medic since sometimes he would drive an ambulance.
I have seen the show and, interestingly, Marshall the Firedog takes the job of EMT as well.

Now we all know this isn’t true but I kinda have a thing for theories like this. I love this show and while I know they would never admit this had this isn’t the canon in the show it’s cool to me how a show this wholesome and friendly could be turned so dark. We all know Ryder isn’t some capitalist and he’s just a nice kid but I just love and we can say. Of course that’s what it is BUT IT COULD BE THIS!
I love that most people could probably also come to this conclusion if they just thought about the entire situation realistically. In a world with hyper-intelligent dogs that can perform rescues as good as and sometimes way better than people, a team of expendable rescue pups is not only plausible, but it just makes sense. Sometimes a dark secret isn't that much of a secret I guess lol

If you're one of the people that watch this video in 2024, the other Paw Patrol movie shows that Stella came from a litter that was never chosen, she was the weakest, followed Rider and he just took her with him. Looks like he just takes pups in danger.
Ryder must have also been replaced as the description of paw patrol on Netflix states “ six heroic puppies led by a tech savvy 10 year old” I don’t know if this also counts as child labour though.
Matpat is the only one that can make an incredibly innocent and wholesome movie/series with some dark Backstories. This really got dark real quick

One thing that always bugged me with the show when my little sister was into it a few years back was how there was no adult dogs for some reason. The puppies are out there doing rescues for several seasons and yet they never grow up and never meet an older dog.

Rather than wondering why this theory is a thing, I'm strangely more curious over who's funding a 10 year old to put dogs in perilous situations. Like he probably has himself in a bit of danger as well as he's got his own vehicle and is seen with the pups on missions, like in the clips and pictures that are shown. Who's paying this child? I know what I'm about to say is against the entire antithesis of theories but why is it assumed that another world behaves exactly like ours. Personally l am a lot more interested in theories that come up with how the aspect fits into the world and how would the world need to change to fit it.

This brings up another issue: why is Ryder, a kid, managing pups to do adults' work? Has there been an instance in the show that explain why it isn't an adult that's managing the pups? Of course it's a kids' show so the main character is a kid, but wouldn't it be weird for a kid to manage a team of fire fighters and police officers? Does Ryder even get paid for his work? Did something happen to his parents? Also, if the pups are the only animals talking and behaving like humans (being able to express desires, that is) do they have animal rights only or do they also have human rights? Would them be hired for work be considered abuse or just voluntary work? Because if the previous pups died, did they die of old age/they can retire or are they forced to work until they die in an accident or die in the line of duty, basically?

Isn't it possible that the pups just grow up and "retire" from the patrol at some point once they get too big? Sometimes people do leave the force.
Also, I find it funny that he's theorizing about dead puppies but doesn't question the fact or wonder how or why a 10 year old is running his own police department of dogs by himself.

I've... never actually put this into thought. Especially as a 16-year-old who finds himself watching this show when I have nothing to do. This is actually interesting, and quite dark for a kid show. I've actually thought that Ryder recruited dogs because they were "expendable", and this only increases the evidence.
