My parents used to say that you stay child till your parents are alive and they were right! To be honest, when they passed, my kids were in middle and grade school, yet I really felt kind of "orphaned", even though I've been living out of state for 15 years at the time. I really miss their advice a lot, from time to time. Now that my kids are grown, I figured out I still parent them occasionally, on a totaly different level! Once a parent, always a parent. 🤣

When I was a child, we were nine siblings. I was the middle child. My mother, my father, and my four older siblings would sit at the table and eat first. The rest of us (5 younger kids) had to wait in the living room, until they were done eating. Then, it was our turn to eat. Sometimes we would end up eating the broth only because my older brother would eat most of the meat. Nowadays, my 3 older sisters and my older brother are "very slim," while the rest of us (my 3 younger sisters, my younger brother, and I) are "chubby," coincidentally. "There must be some type of connection there," though. LOL
