What's also a neat thing to consider is that in the orginal concept of Zelda (back when it was called the "Hyrule Fantasy") you were collecting 'data-chips' similar to memory, or RAM.
Not only this, but the second over-world was going to be the distant future similar to current day save 100+ years or so in the future.
I love when they do Zelda or Mario theories
Except it isn't a theory. It is well known fact. What next? We don't play as Zelda in those games?
@@TheRezro but he's proving it, it's not just intuition.
@@raawesome3851 If you want real cool "theory". Dragons in Breath of the Wild are actually deliberately misnamed (it is result of color shift issue in old games). In short Farosh is actually a Lenayru. He is a yellow electric dragon with only slight green taint. If you check his flight pattern, he actually fly around Gerudo Desert (aka Lanaru Desert), Lake Hylia (where he moved after his domain dried out) and Faron Forest what actually wasn't her residence as it was close to Hylia's domain. Faron (blue water dragon) actually lived in mountain rivers on south-west from the castle (Lake Floria). So Lanayru Province in BotW, is actually Faron Province. It is also exactly where Naydra is (and she also has clear green taint). It is in fact incredibly cool that people in lore confuse those two dragons, explaining shift of the colors traditionally related to goddess :D
@@TheRezro oh. Dang, that is actually pretty interesting. It's also a good attention to detail.

4:08 You're saying because we can see the big Dipper Hyrule must be located at the southern hemisphere. But AUSTIN!!!!! Both big AND small Dipper are only visible in the northern hemisphere! Please don't make my star-watching heart cry.
I was looking for this comment, that bit threw me so much coz I see those constellations all the time 😅
That's incorrect. Anywhere north of 25°S latitude (just south of the Tropic of Capricorn) will allow you to see the Big Dipper in its entirety. That's about half of the southern hemisphere, covering most of South America and Africa (up to the equator), and about half of Australia. All that being able to see the Big Dipper, but not the Little Dipper, means is that Hyrule must be between the equator and the 25th southern parallel.
@@RabblesTheBinx Okay, there was a confusion. In the book I only looked at the star map of each month ans weirdly they don't depict big dipper on the southern maps, but then they write it's visible to 22° south.
I only argued with the star map in mind. My bad.

Well it's Earth's past. This whole Legend is supposed to show how humans have grown stronger to face a new evil that will hit this Earth very soon in the future. Interesting fact: Kal Yuga is the last Yuga and present Yuga of humanity. It's also known for being the darkest Yuga where everyone is at its weakest point in time. This poses a threat to us all ; if we're not careful now we will become worse than any Demon known to man. Pretty dark but true.

Top 10 lies by people on the internet
3:50 *Grew up watching the Big Dipper every summer, recognized the mistake instantly. Impressive honesty with the correction. 4:00 - Why would that mean it has to be the southern hemisphere? I'm definitely in the northern hemisphere & see the Big & lil Dipper. Orion is more visible in the winter here, both constellations in the fall. Locals even say the Dipper shows up to fill the lake for the summer.
Edit: the ending almost sounded like you'd break into song, that was great.
If you could ONLY see the Big Dipper and not BOTH the Big and Little Dipper then you would be below 25° south (so South Africa or South Australia). However if you could see the Big Dipper like is shown in the video (like a question mark) then you SHOULD be able to see both by following in a line from Merak and Dubhe across the sky.
@@buster2312cs Oooh. That makes a lot more sense to me. Thanks, I love an excuse to learn; I'll have to read up on it.
Concidering the big dippers 2 end stars point to Polaris, I would think that hyrule is in the northern hemisphere. The position of the big dipper shown in the game would indicate the little dipper would also be visible in the sky.....
Y'know, you're right about that. Cause, iirc Cassiopeia is northern hemisphere, cause it's near the Little Dipper (i believe). It's been a while since I've studied them but both Dipper and Cassiopeia all point towards each other (roughly, more the Dippers doing it, or towards the north star).
But the evidence of both Orion and the Dipper, then, it narrows it down to, the entire planet honestly. 😂
But if Zelda is on the southern hemisphere, then there'd be more evidence of it, which may not have been covered in the video as intended.
Me who is also this crazy: That's cool and all. But did you know the Terraria World is also an island here on Earth

@Liop000000 Moninoe To be fair, Hyrule basically gets destroyed every few hundred years by Ganon. Taking that into consideration, progressing technologically would be pretty difficult. Although, we do see Hyrule eventually developing bombs, cannons, flintlock pistols, steam ships, clocks, photography, and locomotives. They’re developing, just really slowly. They actually had technology surpassing ours 10,000 years before Breath of the Wild thanks to the Sheikah, but the Sheikah were forced to trash it due to Hylian fears of a Sheikah takeover.

Austin, have you heard of "Jupiter's Ascending"? Interesting movie, goes on the premise that genetic patterns can repeat over hundreds upon hundreds of years, basically validating reincarnation as an scientific/genetic concept. The whole hyrule story goes the same with link and zelda being reborn again and again throughout history. That got me thinking what is the likelihood of a "genetic reincarnation" happening and how far apart the games really are?
And could Link be a technologically modified human since, BotW for example, he can be "upgraded" and, using the chamber in BotW, be healed?
Fenris Úlfur
...never heard of that movie, but THAT’S a FilmTheory I’d watch (...but admittedly would prefer anyone other than MatPat covering it??)
Wait, it does? Jupiter Ascending is such a mess of a movie that I never would have began to guess that it was going for something like THAT.
Well the charecters in the movie think of it as reincarnation, but based on the movie never shows any link besides the same genetic code. Since that guy with the hover thingies was genetically designed and given how genetic codes are formed from parents I would say that she is a clone designed to destroy the civilization because with their traditions she would be ruler. Movie never says any of that but that's my head canon that is more believable.
Very interesting thought on Zelda. Would make sense if some tech was causing link and ganon to come back. The red smoke around ganon in BotW always reminded me of a swarm of nano bots.
I remember seeing Cassiopeia in Twilight Princess too. I don't remember if there were others, though.
If Zelda is post-apocalyptic earth, and link is as strong as he seems to be, then Link is almost certainly a freak of genetic engineered strength.
