This is a possibly pointless detail, but when you look from the enderman's eyes in spectator mode, the colors are reversed. So end stone looks like cobblestone.

Pointless detail i never new that
Hmm, maybe their eyes adjusted with their form, and start to believe this strange dimension is like their old home. Having an inverse human stare at you would startle them, and make them attack you.

*theory*: In regards to the ender mites, they might’ve been a catalyst for how the endermen ended up how they did. Some mites are known to infest foods, what if the ender mites infest the chorus fruit the ancient builders ate when they arrived to the end, mites are also known to give deseases to those infected, the ender mites could’ve passed on a desease that turned the ancient builders into ender men, could be a reason why they hate them so much

I have something to say to you. I have seen Endermen activate Sculk Shriekers. Now if you watch Wifes theory on the Warden, he said that Sculk Shriekers were player activated, or person activated. So for Endermen Activating Shriekers might just prove your theory correct.

But they do pick up rocks, stone.
Came back after todays theory about the nether being frozen, the fact that the endermen only move soil and flowers (with no Steve intervention to give tnt) shows that these ancient builders that became twisted after ruining two dimensions have learned their lesson. While they cannot fix what they had broken, they can continue to move and make beautiful our overworld, planting flowers after teleporting hundreds of meters away.

I have noticed something in game, I don't know if it was meant to be that way but I think it's something worth discussing about it: if you look at enderman through glass block, glass pane, iron bars, fences, doors and trapdoors, they won't attack you despite the fact that you see their faces.
My theory here is that the enderman will only be triggered by you staring at them if your sigh isn't refracted or stopped by something, example: if you look at a window you see your reflexion a bit, which means your sight is reflected a bit by the window, meaning you don't FULLY see what's on other side of the window. So that means if your sight isn't fully focused on the enderman, they won't be triggered. Here's another detail that I can give to prove this: when an enderman are in front of you in your peripheral vision, (you don't see things distinctly in your peripheral vision, but you see them enough to know those things are here) they won't attack you unless you really stare at them, so enderman will only attack if your vision is fully focused on them, when you directly look at them with no obstacles between you and the enderman.
But of course that's just a theory
*A g a m e t h e o r y !*
Everyone’s asking who’s Enderman,
but no one is asking how’s Enderman.
When ever I ask him how he is he teleports away :(

Theory: Enders pearls are teleportation “glands” of storage (similar to the gallbladder) than endermen evolved to have in order to control the fruit’s property. They still eat the chorus fruit, but instead of immediately teleporting it stores the energy so they can use it themselves. The reason that some drop it while others don’t is because you, they player, might’ve damaged it while you were hitting them, and without Looting 3, there is NO way you’re going to be able to successfully not hit all 4 glands
Theory:chorus flowers weren't always in the end, after the builders entered the end and started to run out of food, they tried planting seeds, but instead of growing into a normal crop, it switched to chorus flower.
did matpat really just mine a grass block with an axe
xalaxna yeah that was pissing me off
It'd make sense if it was a Silk Touch pickaxe, but obv not the case
While saying ‘Let’s build us a theory’
That part killed me
@Sems Fiction apparently not my friend
Theory: The endermen are picky about the blocks they interact with because *those blocks* are the ingredients necessary to craft enderpearls. The player, obviously, doesn't have the capacity to follow such instructions (similar to end portals and enchanted apples), but the Ancient Civilization must've been so set on using this recipe that they still have the instinct to do it - saying things like "look for the eye" (Also see: Headcrabbed HL2 Combine Soldiers repeating lines and callouts that they often said) - and potentially picking up those blocks either out of a fruitless instinct or a deliberate effort to continue successfully making enderpearls.
The end portals are partially filled because these endermen managed to put together a few eyes - which can also explain why only some are in active possession of pearls - but almost never completely fill it because it takes thousands of years for them to do so.
Its cool to think that the Enderman pick up blocks that remind them of the overworld. Kinda adds a humanity side to them.
THE WITHER!!
When you defeat the Wither, you get the achievement called "the beginning". The thing that was killing the people in the overworld was the wither! It is the beginning of the end. The beginning of people going into the end, being trapped there, turning into endermen and the beginning of the lore of minecraft. When they went inside the strongholds, while the Wither was kept outside, people still had the "sickness" (the wither effect), so they went into the End seeking something that could stop their sickness, and while they succeeded, they transformed into the endermen that we know today. The most skilled teleporters eventually managed to teleport to other dimensions, the overworld and the nether.
It makes sence, but there is one problem. If all the survivors ran to the End when the Wither was alive, then no-one could have killed it, so it should still be alive when we join the world, but it isn't
@@matematulji I think that over many years, the wither went back to the nether and turned the skeletons there to wither skeletons, exhausting its power and dissapearing. You can get the skulls (its "power") from the skeletons and summon it again.
@@sfirro i know about the skulls. That is very much possible
What if Minecraft storymode was actually the past of Minecraft, back when there was civilizations. It goes along with your theory
I think the wither returned to the nether and fell victim to it’s own power, it withered away and all of it’s remains are left inside of wither skeletons and such beings

There isn't a reason, there isn't a reason for literally any of the "Evidence" that he has. His theory is bs is what I'm saying
How time works in the Overworld won't work the same as how the Nether does. They're both literally different realms.
@@slushierr445 but why does it explode?
Something that interests me a lot but I haven't really heard anyone else talk about is eyes of ender. We can infer that ender pearls are essentially the "heart" of an Enderman, but why, when combined with blaze powder does it create some sort of "eye"?

A small detail here, it is safe to say the end has lot lower atmospheric pressure since endermen evolved to be more than twice as tall as they once were.
So I'm rewatching this series and just had a thought. MatPat makes a theory later about there once having been lots of ender dragons and the reason this last one was protected the way it was when our character arrives was to try to keep it alive so that it wouldn't be completely extinct. So what if the ancient builders that went to the End to escape what they were running from knew how to get out but didn't because they didn't want to kill off the last Ender Dragon?

Also, if they evolved, that would take millions of years and strongholds would be so ruined that they're basically like natural caves with an end portal frame in them.
Disc 11 may Be the sounds of a previous human turning into an enderman, the man in the disc flips through a book desperately trying to figure out what’s wrong with him. you can also hear mining sounds which most likely means he’s in a cave, which would explain why some endermen are found in caves. I think the ender pearls are some kind of precious jewel, that everyone had one with them.
Maybe they kept it even after becoming endermen, and those pearls became imbude with teleportation abilities due to those of their owner.
Another thing about that: that mean the space travel allowed by the end portal is not imbude BY the ender pearl but by the portal frame.

One thing being overlooked is that the villagers are obviously able to build the way the player does, the villages itself are built by the villagers
This resonated with me too. I debated that maybe the villages were built by the old builders but then I figured they'd be decrepit and more like ruins
One thing to note is that the endermen do get aggressive with the enderdragon if they’re attacked by it. Whether that’s because they’re not fully human anymore, or they know it’s not an ally, remains a mystery. Some detail worth noting I feel.
“Look for the Eye” can make so much sense, if the Enderman were really corrupted by the dragon, then they’re saying “Look for the Eye” so you can find the stronghold, enter the End, and slay the dragon, freeing them.

but sure is an interesting theory. But this is funny: I have always looked at the enderman if it was like us, humans, but in a way that they’re not.
@Cobalt Prime Um, there is the end credits. Two people talking to you. and about you. After you beat the dragon. You can tell these are people because they use natural language. However, when you end the credits, you get a glimpse of the End before returning. The entities are the Endermen. Talking to and about you. Also, after, it is easier to understand them. Bonus theory: Maybe the Enderman turn aggressive when you look at them, because your appearance is similar to the zombies & other monsters they had to face in the overworld.
But endermen don’t attack regular zombies or skeletons
Or maybe the agression is like a test. Where if you cant defeat an endermen you cant possibly defeat a dragon. And if you do beat the endermen then you get awarded its pearl thatll lead you to on step closer to the dragon
Maybe you remind them of what they used to be. And their embarrassment turns them to attack you for looking at them in the state they ended up. They are ashamed that someone like you looks at those monsters when they used to look like you at some point

Or they have a self realization, like the cyberman from Doctor who, who began feeling emotions and remembering who they were. Said Cyber man said: “I’m so cold” “Where’s garret” “I was going to get married”. And by seeing their past selves they have self realization with the ender dragons manipulation provoking them and forcing them into a state of insanity and psychopath. And by knowing you will attack upon aggression then they will be agressive.
What if they used they're enderpearl technology and the end fruit to accidentally turn into enderman as a firm to escape the end and travel back to the over world they just paid the price for that chance
Just wanted to point this out, but I think there was once an abundance of ender dragons, but they eventually died off because they were hunted by the ancient builders, hence the dragon heads on the end ships. I believe they tried to protect the last remaining dragon before something happened that caused them to turn into endermen.
Probably the best evidence that another civilisation travelled to the End and built structures there are the doors.
All the doors in End structures are two blocks high - Endermen are three blocks tall, and can’t fit through them.

why don't they like water is another thing to ask, and also what is that sound when you hit one? the loud erie sound that they doesn't come from them
@@averylowe9175 they dont like water because they can see their reflections and seeing what they have become (idk just guessing)
@@averylowe9175 water... slows them down, i guess?
@@averylowe9175 they don't like water because it hurts.
@@yidasjdjasgd4054 Water damages them, strangely enough. Im not sure why. If they were from the Nether, it would make sense, but they arent.
Is it just me or does them saying “hello” sound like “help me”
no the more real question is if minecraft story mode is an actual part of the lore of minecraft??
Their words are said backwards so hello would olleh in their language at least that's what I heard
@@odeshaadams2351 maybe their Spanish with an accent
Oh... Kinda creepy.
Omg brother
About the pearl inconcensty i think that there was an ancient ore that the ancient builders completly extracted. It came from the end energy and also they learned to create it by themselves when they becme endermen
something building a bit off the crafting ender pearls and using the known knowledge of teleportation from the nether portal ideas:
one thing that’s bugged me for ages is the nether portal.
endermen, their particles, the enderdragons breath, purpur, chorus fruit, all purple.
the nether, lava, nether rack, nether bricks, nether wart and magma cubes, all red.
why are the nether portal, the particles that come off it, and crying obsidian found in ruined portals all purple like end particles? why doesn’t crying obsidian, something usually formed from lava, like the majority of the nether, cry lava and instead cries some purple substance? what’s the relationship there?
All of this would have never happened if they just went into peaceful mode...
True but what if they were just on hardcore mode? Or they just locked their mode to hard mode?
Yea duhhh
wait what if your a GOD
HerobrineGamer don't use peaceful
Bitches probably should've copied the world to creative to find some epic stuff and write down some coordinates.
*MatPat* : "Strangely it means, they come in peace"
*Enderman stealing my flowers* : "What's up?"
Lmao
Another piece of evidence that points to this theory is the name of the chorus fruit in "pirate speak", which is a language option in base Minecraft (basically speaking pirate). Interestingly, chorus fruit is named "Tall ones' fruit".
I’ve been playing Minecraft since 2013ish and be watching my elder sibling for ages. I was here near the beginning, but not the nearest beginning. I remember a lot of the earlier updates as well. Random, but I love it. I actually now someone whose friends dad helped create it.
Endermen talk english backwards
Mojang have confirmed it
Yeah
Still fits with the general idea of distorted language, though.
So what do they say sorry i dont know how???
Yea. I remember...
Hentai hentai hentai hentai!
Endermen phrases:
“Hey”
“Hello”
“What’s up”
“Look for the eye”
“I’m dead”
“Oh shoot”
And, sometimes it sounds like it says; “NANI?!?!?!”
Those was the words the enderman say in reverse from the sound they make
Oh shoot- Enderman #15, before getting hit off the island
"I'm dead" Wallace the Enderman, when it started to rain for the first time
True
So, Late to the Party, but I think why beat seeds are in end fortresses is because that is what corise fruit stemmed from
my friend and i came up with a theory that both endermen and iron golems are ancient builders: Both are tall, both only attack when provoked and both can pick up poppies. We believe that iron golems are ancient builders that were captured by pillagers to make a killing machine, this is backed up by matpats theory that evokers attempted to create life. This backfired in the end and the iron golems went to the villagers. Iron golems attack endermen because they dont realise that those are there bretheren. Both endermen and iron golems are found in the same place in the dungeons dlc. What do you think of our theory?
It's a great one, and incredibly tragic too. I can't imagine how much pain that would be bearable when being shoved into an iron machine by crazed eyebrow shaved cultists..
