I've played 30+ game's nd inly gotten imposter twice.
One game I was crewmate in Skeld. I did download in the cafeteria, then went into weapons to do asteroids (visual tasks were on btw) but there was a dead body. Obviously, I reported it and then I got voted out for 'reporting a body too quickly'. God, I hate when you join a bad or toxic lobby.

Tip: Also be aware of the settings, like for example, some players set it to where the task bar doesn't update until a meeting, or a dead body is reported, and some pro's play with visual tasks off, so just be aware of what the games' settings are

The part where you said "if you see someone at a task and the taskbar doesnt go up, theyre a faker" isnt actually 100% correct. A lot of the tasks like the cafeteria garbage ones have multiple parts to them, and the taskbar wont go up until all of them are completed.

@@theabirde Same. I did wires when there was 4 people left, lime was with me and called a meeting to blame me, I told them I had one left, so they let me off the hook. After completing tasks, them and I stood by cams and watched the other pair. Orange went missing, so we knew it was pink.

A tip: there common tasks in among us that either every crewmate or no crewmate has. If you see somebody doing a common task when it's not on your list (like admin swipe for The Skeld) they're probably the imposter. So imposters, if you have a common task while others don't, don't do it and vice versa

The “progress bar didn’t go up” thing can sometimes make innocents look sus because multi-part tasks (wires) don’t make the bar go up until the last part is done

Hopefully this rises in the comments because most players don't actually know this and cause the game to go poorly for getting their suspicions wrong. A better way to explain this is to know what multi part tasks have a definite ending and follow that player through to the end of it. You will then know if they are to be trusted.

At the beginning of the video. If you want to know if a word is spelled with "or" or "er" at the end, find out if it's a suffix or not. since "impost" isn't a word an "imposter" isn't described as "someone who imposts"

MOST of the time. I don't have the entire dictionary memorized and there are exceptions to every rule in English.
Another decent idea is while you are an impostor, keep track of who used their emergency buttons and prioritize killing those who still have some left while leaving those who used them up alive as they will need to find a body to do anything. Plus if they are the only people in the late game, you can guarantee victory sooner.

Best kill I have ever seen: I was in my very first round and playing with some friends at lunch. I was having trouble with card swip and one of my friends came in to "show me how to do it" he killed me on the spot and left. My other friend came in to show me and did it without reporting. Apparently, my body was positioned in just the right way so no one could see me. And the next meeting he just said, "wait, you're dead?" It was hilarious!

Oh Matt... how I wish this was true in public lobbies. People seem to often forget everything that happened past the previous round.
It happens in premades too. I was in a full party of 10 once. Lights went out and four of us grouped up to move towards it. One died, I reported it immediately and clearly said that one of the imposters is 100% one of the remaining three of us.
Myself and the other one of those three who was crew both got killed the next phase and imposters won. Goldfish-like memory on everyone else: he was never suspected again for the rest of the game.

My rule for Among Us is to not vote without any evidence. If there was no one nearby when you found the body, its not exactly a good idea to vote,because you have no good evidence. Also, always pay attention to the tasks you have because imposters dont know what tasks the crewmates have. Always travel in a group of 3 or more, because it not really likely that both your partners are imposters, because its inefficient for 2 imposters to travel together. Dont always vote out a person who defended the imposter, because its likely they were unknowing. Make sure someone knows where you are so that you have a good alibi, this ties in with staying in groups. Make sure that you give a detailed story of what your doing so that its less likely tor people to think that you are the imposter. If you want to kill someone in a 1 entrance/exit, make sure that there is no one around so that no one will be able to say you were in the room when you killed them. I hoped this helped, and I cant really fit any more advice into this comment.

Tip as Impostor;
Head into Admin, and look at the scanner. If you see a room with two or more people in it, lock it down. The people in that room will become suspicious of each other, yet not of you, since you weren’t with them.

Ok, this helped me out so much. I killed every clear player in a game and made everyone sus each other. My other imposter killed someone infront of somebody else and he got voted first meeting. Because of your guide of was able to win the game. Just one more tactic I would like to add is that you should make a diversion. When I kill in admin I like to sabotage reactor. When I kill in reactor I sabotage o2. Also when sabotage is on cool down I like to lock all the doors so I can wait till sabotage is refreshed.

What if you where to start (as a crewmate) do the more remote areas of the map, Because the Imposters don't go there first; two if you suspect that someone is sus then go with groups Because you are A Target, three when someone asks the same question Over and Over then there probably trying to Redirect the Conversation.
Tip on lava map: ask everyone which slot their key was in. Their key slot is the same as the slot they’re in the game. Top left play has top right key, top left player has top left key etc. Imps who don’t know about this will either stay quiet or get it wrong.

Man, I wish the people I play with actually played that way. The amount of times I've hosted a lobby with visual tasks on, done medbay scan, and then gotten voted out later in the game is terrifyingly high.

I think it depends on people's experience. I once joined a room where people would say they have visual tasks and most of us would come to watch them. We take note who is innocent and easily find who the impostor is. Don't give up hope, my dude. Since Among Us got popular, you have to expect newbies. Every game can be good or bad. Remember that if you are a host, you can kick anyone you want.

1 thing I do whenever I am in a game: Make a person look sus slowly, and dont pinpoint them out immediately unless you're a crewmate. This makes others slowly start to trust you more than the so-called "sus" crewmate. Dont kill them so they look more sus than anyone else.
Doing any visual task isnt confirming your innocence. The person that may have seen your visual task may still believe that you are still very sus.

For the meter, there is one *critical* detail:
Partial tasks *do not* increment the meter, only a fully completed task. For example, the first two wire panels performed by a crewmate don't increment the meter, but the third one will.

The thing about me when I play among us is that naturally I’m not a very devious person, yet I still win as impostor more than 50% of the time, but if I find a way to get past my weakness I could become a much better player. It’s like the saying you’re only using a bit of your brain power.

One thing that you can do to see if someone is lying in real life or among us is have them repeat their story backwards. If you make something up on the spot, it will be harder to remember what you said in the reverse way that you came up with it. So if someone says that they came from cafeteria into admin after doing asteroids before doing that trash task in storage, they’re probably safe.
6:30 just to clarify, that only really applies if the settings are set so that the bar updates instantly, some lobbies set it so that it only updates during meetings, or that there ISNT a bar at all, in which case this becomes null and void.

It's true that you're not guaranteed to be safe, particularly when only one other person has seen you do it. Still, it's best to try and get several people to see you do a visual task, which could be a challenge in PUGs.

Honestly same. While I know most people who prefer impostor are just in it for the thrill... I kinda keep my eye on them. Idk doing mini games is fun. That’s why games like fall guys are fun. A huge compilation of mini games.
This is just something I think but it's best not to kill someone who sussed you, it'll only make you look more sus. I let at least one round go by and then try to kill them. I mean, admit it, if you see purple call blue sus, then purple is killed, blue is a prime suspect. But this is also a good way to frame someone. Like if orange calls Yellow sus, maybe kill orange and then remind the crew that Yellow was sussed by orange, who is now dead.

6:20 actually be careful with that. There’s tasks that only make the task bar go up if you complete all the parts(like wires or downloading data,etc...) I once died because someone thought I faked

Yes!! It's because of this that I always aks them which task they think the person faked. Cause half the time it ends up being downloading data. Then two innocent people get kicked out cause everyone thinks the first person was lying.

Yeah I usually don't waste time in faking tasks because there are 9 other people besides me, no one is gonna remember that I never stopped anywhere to do a task, but if in some situation I do have to I usually do wires or download task cause the bar doesn't go up at first it's a 2 way task, I seriously can never get the timing right with the Taskbar that's why I never fake tasks.
Here’s how I win:
•Sabotage lights
•everyone goes to electrical
•kills a person in the area where everyone is standing in
•someone reports
•everyone is confused
•repeat until 3 players
•sabotage oxygen
•fake fixing oxygen so the 2 other people won’t bother fixing it
•oxygen runs out
•VICTORY
•repeat if I’m imposter

5 crewmates left! Kill one and there will be four left, say you know its somebody who is not clear or anything like that. You get them out it’s reduced to 3 and you get that final kill.

The problem is that when playing with randoms everyone is impatient and easily convinced. If someone declares that it must be you then you’re getting kicked out regardless of evidence and they will do it before you have a chance to type your defence.

We could use an updated meta now that anonymous voting and "task bar doesn't fill up until a meeting is called" is now the new staples for play in a standard game.

in among us (after you kill someone) say the other imposter, because if a crewmate says "I saw red go into med bay with orange" and orange was dead, say you "saw it on cams" that way your partner can't blame you.

DISCLAIMER: for multiple part tasks like electrical where it has three parts, the taskbar only goes up once you have completed all three. So if you blame a guy for one part of the wires that’s a big Nono. Follow the guy for all three parts and see if the bar goes up.

The taskmeter thing really doesnt work a lot of the time. You can turn off the visibility of the taskmeter, AND there are several tasks that have multiple parts that wont make the bar fill until you've completed all the parts (although both of these make it easier for an impostor). Same goes for the "voting being made public" thing, because it can be turned off. Also, impostors can very much vote quickly in order to try to START the bandwagon...

Exactly. Wires, download, trash, and divert all of multiple steps therefore not filling up the task bar until all the steps are done. Yet people want to act like that’s not the case at all.
(That’s probably not all the multi step tasks but I can’t fully remember)
Edit: I forgot about inspect specimen in medbay and the other tasks that have you wait a certain amount of time then come back.
@@dummi2673 when you do a task with lots of steps eg wires the first 2 wont make it go up but the last one it will so wires are a good way to go
