All fossil (EXTINCT) pokemon have the same sex ratio as starters... that's not a good sign

This gives me an idea..
Imagine a Breath of the Wild styled pokemon game set in the ancient world. Before Pokeballs and PC storage were invented. You start with a choice to go swimming, cave exploring, or mountain climbing. Depending on your choice would decide both the tutorial area and your first pokemon ally. As just a lowly trainer you get bet up badly by wild pokemon, but through more choices like 'run away' or 'fight back' or 'scream for help' you prove your worth to one of the fossil pokemon who step in to save you, from there you have an authentic Pikachu moment-no pokeballs needed-you can either defeat pokemon or do specific tasks to gain pokemon allies that follow you around like a real team. Team max stays at 6, but the real strategy comes in the fact that you cant store extras. If you have 6 followers and want a new one, you have to allow one to return. This could be further reinforced by making a synergy mechanic that made certain pokemon stronger or weaker if certain other pokemon are around.
Not having trainer battles or pokeballs and setting it during a "Pokemon War" would be amazing too. Imagine a field full of Pokemon, and your party cuts through them all like its FFXV as you focus your efforts on earning Ho-Oh's alliance or something.

Releasing into wild all those imperfect IV starters actually worked - you can catch wild starters in Let's go games
You can also catch the starters in Pokemon yellow.

(In Cerulean you are given bulbasaur only if your pikachu happiness is close to max, in route 24 you get charmander, and in vermilion you get squrtle after beating LT. surge as you need to prove that you will be able to control the troublemaker.)
Imagine if some future Pokemon game had a fossil resurrection machine and when you bring them some fossil, it turns out to be a Bulbasaur.

@Dylan Colwell What? Dude. This is what old-school GT used to be. Science. "Could X really do Y?" was GT's thing way back. MatPat now focuses on lore rather than science. They aren't competing.
I will say though, ShoddyCast Austin was waaaay better than current GT Austin. Why? Austin could swear back then.

Shiny hunting starters and realeasing the thousands of said starter basically revives a near extinct species, shiny hunters are effectively playing god with species
