When we began our journey to the #CancelCancer campaign with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital earlier this year, we were invited to visit their main campus in Memphis. We decided to record our adventure so you all could see the amazing, groundbreaking work they are doing for children battling cancer and other serious diseases. St. Jude not only provides treatment for these children at NO COST to their families, but they share all of their research with the world in the name of curing cancer once and for all. They're committed to providing everything kids and families need so they can focus on the thing that matters most: getting better and living a healthy life.

thank you i would highly recommend donating to st jude its an incredible place. when my parents went there for the first time the number one doctor in the world for my brothers type of cancer (no clue how to spell it) ran up to them and helped them get where they needed to go. another thing that matpat didnt say was st jude also pays for gas money if you drive. it really is an amazing place

I agree they are a great place to go to. They treat the cancer patient and the family well. We were there for my cancer about 11 years ago and I'm cancer free. We didn't pay anything just like in your case. Really got to appreciate and love a place like that. They are the one place we donate to with no doubts.
it's crazy seeing the hospital again, I've been going there every month since I was 5. I've met and spoken with some of those ppl too. Their burgers are nice.

it makes me so happy to see what you guys are doing for st jude. i’ve been a patient there for almost 4 years and it is definitely a home away from home for me. another patient friend of mine says that st jude is the best place you never want to be and i think that her statement is so true because while you never want your child to have cancer, st jude is such a wonderful place for those families that do have to deal with childhood cancer. thanks again for supporting such an amazing cause :)

I'm with Steph on this one: sharing the research is pretty incredible. Science shouldn't be a tool for profit, it should be a tool for knowledge. It's unfortunate that we haven't found a means to make that happen everywhere yet.
Zachery I agree but sadly this research is extremely expensive and for conventional researchers someone has to give them that money and those people are not going to give the it if they don’t think they can get a profit back and this is the sad state science is in right now where everything is being locked behind pay walls and hidden away so that all of these different research teams can fight to try and get the money to do the research which is why non profits like St Jude are so important they are the places that can often get the most done

My Brother used to be a patient there. He also has his own tile on the wall right outside the cafeteria going towards the waiting/doctors rooms. He passed away a few years ago, but St. Jude did what they could to help. And thankfully, with the cancer he had, he lived twelve years. I thank them every day for giving me the opportunity to remember and even give me the chance to know my brother. His name was Jonah Barnett, and I'm glad to say he's my brother, even after he passes. And I'm so glad you guys are support this hospital. You guys are amazing❤️❤️

Same bro. Genuinely upsets me that I'm not able to donate much (was only able to give a dollar). Unfortunately I'm not in a place where I have a lot (read as none) spare money, but like you I will watch the stream given the chance, and will definitely spread the word to others with more means than me. If there's any charity that should be donated to, this is it. NO child should EVER have to be sick, in pain, or God forbid, pass away. Really upsetting that there's even a necessity for the hospital, but the world's cruel sometimes. My heart goes to the kids, their parents, and all the beautiful people who work endlessly to help save every child they can.

I had cancer when I was 8 and i go every year for check ups. Its been years now since I’ve been to the second floor of the building and it fills me with nostalgia to see it all. I‘m glad you have the chance to experience the place i had to live in for my cancer treatment and how amazing they treat the people they save.
Found out what I'm asking my parents for as a Christmas present. This literally brought tears to my eyes. St. Jude is such an amazing hospital, they deserve so much recognition, and so does Matpat(and Steph!) for helping to put this fundraiser together. Thank you guys for being amazing. i'd love to volunteer at *Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago* because my brother was taken care of there when he had leukemia, he fought hard, but passed away because of it.
But they were always wonderful people, the nurses and the doctors. They knew him and his personality real well, and from the looks of it, they enjoyed it and him. He was someone who you'd remember, i promise, so i'd love to help other kids fight through it. it's always about helping them survive, no doubt or other thoughts. you'll get better because you and us believe you will. it's always the state of mind that you'll be okay no matter what.

As someone who just lost a very beloved and WAY TOO young little one to cancer, this hits so deep.
She was visiting us Tuesday and I played with her, she was quiet, didn't smile but not uncomfortable. She just stared at us and was very clingy.
But,
Thursday she passed out in her daycare and slept in the arms of the caretaker for several hours after nap time. It all happened 300 meters away from where I were, her parents then came to pick her up and took her to the doctor, where she was rushed to the hospital.
Thursday night, she died of brain cancer that nobody knew she had.
She was 15 months, she was a baby! 💔

When we lived in Memphis my mom and I would donate my old toys. She would also donate money though her job. This hospital is honored by Memphis as a whole and I appreciate everything it stands for even though I’ve never been impacted.

My heart goes out to those kids, as someone who had a relative die of cancer this year, I wish them the best of luck in their recovery.
Man, back in elementary school we participated in the St. Jude Math-a-thon to raise money and now my son is going to the same school and doing the same fundraiser every year. Even with that previous experience with them, I was so unaware of everything they did BEYOND the research. Wonderful to see you guys raising awareness and money for them.

Donated twice now: once the day after the livestream (at the time I couldn’t afford to donate during), and once more today when I could afford so again. And I will keep coming back to donate, whenever I am able.

I'm in the same situation as you. Don't make much. But the moment I found out about Game Theory's donation, I immediately started saving as much as I could so I could donate.

i honestly lost it and almost started crying when I saw MatPat hugging the kids in the cafeteria. It just makes it so much more real, and I know how much meeting him means to those kids. I wanna be a pediatric nurse, and am currently going to schooling for it. I love kids and I want to help them to the best of my ability, which is why this charity is so important to me. Thank you guys so much for choosing St. Jude. It really is a great charity and it does so much good
