As someone who recently got into the SCP universe, donated to the legal fund, AND is aspiring to get an SCP published on the site one day, this video was very important to me. I thought SCP was just a gimmicky horror game just a few years ago, but now I've seen it is something much bigger and worth protecting.
Thank you for bringing more attention to this MatPat, it means a lot to know we can still win legally. (I mean without having to mail the russian a 096 mugshot)

I teared up at the end of this. I'm so glad that the community banded together to ensure trademark trolls can't keep ruining something as wonderful as the SCP extended universe.
I like the idea of a huge collaborative art project and I hope for there to be some high production value main stream stories like a cartoon or something in the future but I wanna make sure everyone gets credit where credit is due and that nobody steals all the money

It's so sad, SCP was the only community I never had to deal with toxicity in, even the creepypasta fandom was never that wholesome.

The SCP foundation is such a wholesome community, ironic since most of what we do is horror related. It is nice to be part of something as big as this, being able to work with one another but also give credit to each other when it is due. It is nice. We cannot let something like this be stripped away when there are such few things like it.

As a fellow avid reader and amateur writer of The S.C.P. Foundation, its been amazing seeing the Foundation become one of the largest cult followings on the internet.

Yep. There are many anomalies like SPC-999 which are classified as "SAFE" Class. most of them are still locked up, but some are allowed to roam freely, while others have tragic backstories.

The Eurasian Customs Union made a bad decision, giving the name and logo trademarks to a man who said “give it to me because I want it” and taking it away from the rightful creators. That’s the first thing to go wrong here, and that’s a massively jerk thing for them to do.

I'm honestly not surprised he was able to register the name for the SCP trademark. The logo though? That's shocking as it isn't just tied to a brand but copyrighted and the original creator should be able to prove that.
This is why i really like the lebanese TM and CP system, the lerson who used the trademark or copyright the "most" takes it and uses it. If i get a trademark and dont use it and onthere person has been usimg it for years they can take it away from me (i lose money but who gets a trademark amd sits on it) and if i take them to court i also pay for their court costs

but a large point of the SCP Foundation is that they don't contain things as a punishment, merely to keep things safe, both the public AND the SCP one-way-or-another, with exceptions of course, but they are not there to DETAIN (which generally carries a negative connotation)

The Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service has ruled that Duksin has violated Article 14.8 of the Russian Federal law on business competition, and he has until November 10th to rectify his violation or face penalties. Due to Russian privacy law, we the plaintiffs do not know exactly what violation he committed and will not know until it is made public on November 10th. It is our hope that he was ordered to dissolve the trademark as that was our main request to the committee, but it is too early to fully celebrate since it is possible they cited him with a different violation at this time. Regardless, this is a huge step forward in the case and we owe everyone who contributed and shared our fundraiser a huge debt of thanks for making this possible. Thank you all so much!

It's also amazing what the scp community can do, Dr.Gears (One of the admins) had cancer.
He made a gofundme page called "Fix a broken gear" and it was so heart warming seeing that they have raised almost 30k while the goal was 10k then it got bumped up to 20k.
This community is amazing and i hope it will live long and never get old.
