While this comment obviously comes from a place of caring, it’s important to realize increasing his Zoloft dose IS taking care of himself. Often people on antidepressants have their dose changed both up and down fairly regularly. We also don’t know what other approaches he is taking to deal with his mental health. Comments like these are definitely kind in intention, but coming from a stranger on the internet it can feel super patronizing. Just something to think about.
I wish people would try to get off of Zoloft. It's not a good application for all people, and I'm finding symptoms of depression get worse if you use Zoloft too much. My dad was on it for ten years and nearly gave it all up multiple times, and is only getting better after he gave it up and changed his diet.
