It looks similar however I don’t think they are the same thing. The square at the center is larger than the part that produces laser and you can only get command block in Creative.
You could argue that they could have changed to Creative mode, but then if they could, they wouldn’t be wiped out.

I wondered for a while why Drowned felt creepier than Zombies. Then I realized it’s the arms. Zombies arms are always up. Drowned put their arms down at rest. It looks more player-like, at least to me. Like the uncanny valley for video games. Which is especially weird since I don’t really experience the uncanny valley.

I just realized something: When you kill an evoker, they don't pop the totem, but when you kill it it drops it, so maybe the reason the illagers do raids is for souls that in turn are used for totems that would give them immortality.

Drowned don’t suffocate yes, but he also mentioned they they’re the only creature who don’t outright die left on land, which true, because eventually drowns will either burn from sunlight, or literally despawn if they’re on land too long.

Sometimes thinking back at this and using some knowledge of death of mechanical stuff and death piles of animals, I think that the Guardians die in a pile to make a prismarine Structure called an Ancient ocean Monument or they ignore mechanical death completely and just were born of some sort of magic being in contact with Prismarine.

My theory:- The elder guardians use a loud sound to deal damage just like a pistol shrimp bit exaggerated.. since it’s the play of sound, the shrimp also uses echolocation in water to detect player even when they are invisible

Theory: the guardians orange protrusions are made of copper, which is why the elder guardians variants are blue, because they oxidized. Why did they oxidize in water? Because the elder guardians weren’t MEANT for the water. The ocean monument wasn’t underwater originally yes. The elder guardians were the original protectors, since yknow they weren’t as needed because the ancient humans could also assist. But as the ocean slowly flooded the temples, newer, yet less weaker guardians. We’re made and taken to the monuments in large numbers. all the guardians, including the elder ones were given tails and underwater enhancements to aid in the protection of the holy monument, thus the newer guardians never oxidized, since they were always underwater.

My headcanon is a remnant of humans worked with villagers to make flesh and blood golems that looked human to replace their dying numbers. It would be why Steve seems to come from no where, has seemingly programmed knowledge, even some superhuman abilities. It could be even that Steve/the player characters are the last ones but can live forever as long as they eat and sleep to sustain their organic components

I found this channel today and already almost depleted all my data watching these videos
Also the fact that when a guardian hits you, you get a debuff which prevents you from mining. Most players will find this as a slight nuisance in their quest to get to the gold. But what if it was actually the guardians mechanism to stop you disturbing whoever they are worshipping, if that was perceived to be the house of their ‘God’ it would make sense to do everything you could to protect it? I mean it doesn’t seem to have much affect on the player so it wouldn’t be for attacking prey or defending itself. Unless they are there for the sole purpose of protecting ‘Gods house’
And making it impossible for me to live peacefully on my island right next to it...
