When Team Salvato announced there Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, my theory brain started preparing. I knew this new DLC-esk game would have SOMETHING hiding in it and, oh boy, was I right. I previously theorized about another game being hinted at in Yuri's novel when of the original game. Now, I wasn't wrong, but I had apparently only scratched the SURFACE of what was going on with the strange thing called Project Libitina. Theorists, we are ALL a part of this game!

Something that I like is that Monika is the only one who stares directly at you. The other ones look bashfully of to the side even if there eyes look at you Monikas the only one who looks directly at the camera with her entire body and head.
At least, till the ending where Sayori gets her privileges and learns the truth. Then she faces you, too.
I think that Monika is the one who created Portrait of Markov. She wants her friends to remember right? So she shares knowledge of the other world (vm2) with “The smartest person in the club”. She’s practically BEGGING Yuri to figure things out - that she’s in a simulation. If she realizes, then she can start to open her third eye. With that knowledge, she can help Monika.

@@wheatum730 I think Monika is trying to figure out (Just like how Matt has explained) on how she can make a full use of the VM models that were built by the team. In this case, her Sim has failed but she still has control to most of the programs (and Ive as well)

Why Monika why
I honestly really like the workaround they came up with when bringing the game over to console. Having a file folder sounds a little dumb at first but the way they implemented it was honestly really cool, especially with all the stuff they added to it

The thought of Monika escaping is either really awesome or really terrifying. If Monika already escaped the game she lives in and controls Ive, she might be able to affect other devices and she could even appear in our world.
I am also married…. I would be a little worried for the sake of my husband. When I played though, I initially tried to choose Monika first. (Having no idea what was going to happen in the game.) She seemed the most interesting initially. Now I am scarred for life.

4 years ago these ddlc theories scared me but now in present they only give me a minor spooks
I think that the idea of Monika escaping works, but not necessarily as presented here. The main issue with this is that when you reset VM1, Monika is reset with it too, or at the very least, a new Monika is initialized to go with the new instance of VM1 (all 4 entities/characters are given new indentifying numbers when "restored"). If the Monika from VM1 were to have the potential to escape, then there would be no reason to believe it wouldn't happen any give instance. Since they mention reseting VM1 many times, you would end up with many Monikas have had escaped, which doesn't really make much sence. Where this idea could work is if you were to say that the Monika from the control VM were to escape. It wouldn't be unreasonable to say that the control VM would never have been reset the same way as VM1, as you would not expect the control value of the expeiment to change. Furthermore, in "Meeting notes 3" they say they are to compare the end of the control VM to the start of VM1. Left neglected, without effort put into hiding Monika elevated privileges, the Monika of the control VM could potentially end up like the Monika of VM1. Since they only really care about what happens up to the point of where VM1 starts, you could say that they would stop caring after that point, leaving that Monika to have that same epiphany but just under possibly different circumstances. I overall don't think there's sufficient evidence for the whole idea of Monika escaping, but it's not too crazy to consider. Something else to consider is the significance of "Stories of Friendship and Literature" starting with a segment of "Dreams of Love and Literature", a detail unique compared to the other songs of the side stories. It's probably just a stylistic choice (especially when thinking about it as the credits for the entirety of the game), but you never know

Fact that helps this theory is that Monika talks about crossing over to "our reality" very often in MaS.
I want to point out that, regarding the side story, that without the player, the game isn't a game. Monika isn't able to gain the self awareness she did during the main story. Meaning the MC is the game trigger, and without the MC, no one would know about Libitina
Honestly in the beginning I was convinced that the developers ACTUALLY gave Monika access to doki doki but then I realized its just a game XD they made it look so real!

If she can break the 4th wall, why can’t she realize that she would have been picked anyway from the start until she destroyed the entire server world stuck in a classroom without your “family” or girls who don’t mind you being with her?

What would be hilarious is if Team Salvato just threw random stuff to see what Game Theory would do with it, and then go with the theory.
This idea just came to me as I was watching this. I don’t think it has an actual meaning from what team Salvato thought, but it’s interesting at the very least. In the end of the first DDLC, you get an ending song made by Monika with her voice, or we think so. But isn’t it weird that she has a voice when she only lives in a visual novel and does nothing but communicate through writing. Maybe that has something to do with the possession thing. I don’t know, but hopefully this was helpful.

Nah I think it's probably because she herself does have a voice that simply isn't heard in the "game" that "Team Salvato" (in-universe) made. It is a simulation after all. So either she has a voice, or she has a perception of what her voice sounds like, and is able to create one to match.
If she was doing that as Ive, it would sound like Ive. And from what I found searching it up, Ive is a masculine name of French origins. (Also Ive may be referred to in the masculine iirc but I don't remember 100%.)
Plus, ehen she sings the song, she's still inside the game and it's implied that she's nuking everything in that instance of VM1. But it is just that - only one instance of VM1. And while data from Monika's memories of VM2 is being shared with VM1 Monikas, it isn't implied that multiple instances of VM1 Monikas share memory or consciousness. So it seems to me that there are multiple VM1 Monikas, meaning the one that we see in the original DDLC may be a different instance or copy. There's no guarantee that we're playing as Ive in that game.

There's still something bugging me tho. Towards the end of the original DDLC, after deleting Monika, we had to play with a world without Monika and Sayori suddenly was the one who was aware that she was in a game and had control over it. But why? Why does she suddenly gained control? That's a part that hasn't been mentionned and that still confuses me to this day.

I first assumed that the entity who assumed the role of "club president" was the one who became "enlightened" but in plus, it seems that the devs made Monika specifically as the one with more access more so than whoever is club president, so then how does Sayori get that elevated access?
I guess because the whole world revolves around the literature club and with no President, there is no club, so in order for the world to exist, sayori is forcibly made to the the president (probably bc she's the second one who joined the club) so that the world can exist

I still think it's weird that Sayori becoming aware is not mentioned at all in plus, and how definitive they make it that Monika is aware on purpose, by their design.

I wonder if the character Marla, in the VM2 is just a life Monika has lived before? I started thinking of that since both characters must be dangerously important to the plot, also is these both that stand out way more than the rest, and just as a hint (I assume), both Monika and Marla's characters were named by an acronym name. I also believe that when we finally get to see the game Marla is in, we we'll also see 2 versions of it. One being were she is aware of the game, and the other not, just like the original DDLC games

Actually in the side stories we do exist we just arent there when its happening Sayori hints at this because when Monika tells her to pretend to be a normal passerby sayori says "Literature is stuupid! I'm going to the anime club!" And she says "i was just thinking of a friend of mine." So we actually do exist in the side stories
