Sometimes I wonder if theorists on youtube say things like, "it has an air of finality to it", to get more episodes of a series they like. They are usually very very wrong when they say "it seems like this is the end."

8:08 Okay, when I first saw these different things here, this was one of my first thoughts. You see, I'm very interested in the idea of genetic algorithms, and how virtually anything with modifiable data and a cost function can be optimized using genetic algorithms. Anyways, when I saw this, the general balance of "good runs" and "bad runs" , coupled with there being many of them, made me immediately recognize this as a genetic algorithm in play here. Also note that the same exact thing happened with the recordings, and how they were seperated into generations.
However, given that genetic algorithms are so far removed from things like child abuse and spiritual imprisonment in the game, I found it unlikely that it was true. So, I started thinking about whether it may actually be many people being trapped in the game, and that in this menu you're capable of seeing what everyone is doing. But that theory was destroyed when Paul took the body of one of the players, leaving me utterly confused at what was going on here. As for the recordings? Well, I thought that they were real people's souls trapped within the game. Instead of having generations of AI, there would be generations of people, with the best person of each generation moving onto the next.
Where am I going with this? Well, once you started leading up to saying that these things are genetic algorithms at play here, I started feeling an overwhelming sense of "I knew it!". So, it's nice to know that I really was right the first time.

Petscop is a great series that really has a wonderful ARG setting, but with rather deep, tragic, and unsettling storyline which makes it interesting for us to come up with our own ideas about what the series is telling us, then share these theories for Petscop that actually make more since for the lore in trying to fill in the gaps of what was still unanswered. Tony did some good work of creating Thai story, and the mystery is just like FNaf, in a way. Great job with this Theory MatPat, you're videos are awesome! :)
