Ok, I've done all the calculations, and this is what I got (sorry in advance for not using correct symbols):
When Spidey hits a guy w/ an oil drum, he spins it, but then he stops it, holds it directly above his head, and swings down in front of him. This means that the force of the spinning is not important for your question (but it is important to figure out what happens if you're hit while it's spinning).
Therefore, he only swings the drum 90 degrees.
w = O / t(ang. vel = angle / time)
O= 90 degrees, or pi/4 rads
t = 0.25 sec
w = 2pi rad/sec
Next, we need to find the radius of the circle in which Spidey swings the drum. I used his height of 1.778 m and traced a crude sketch of his position in lines from my screen and used that as a reference for finding the radius. The total length of the lines was 4 cm, and I measured 2.3 cm as his current vertical height. Therefore, his current vertical height was 1.02235 m. After that, I used my ruler on my screen to estimate the length of Spidey on my screen, and found that at the time of impact, the radius was around 2 Spideys. That means that the radius was 2.0447m.
Then, I found 1/4 of the circumference of a circle with radius 2.0447 m and got 1.02235pi m.
Next, we use the formula d = 1/2 at^2 and manipulate it to get a = 2d / t^2.
a = 2d / t^2
d = 1.02235pi m
2d = 2.0447pi m
t = 0.25 m
t^2 = 0.0625 m
a = 102.777831981 m/s^2
Finally, I used F = ma to find the amount of newtons the drum exerted on the guy's head.
F = ma
m = 16.78 kg
a = 102.777831981 m/s^2
F = 1724.61202 N, +/- 50 N to account for crude radius measurement
That seems like a lot of force, and it is. However, the force needed to crack a human skull is 2300 N.
However, were the force to be applied to, say, the side of the face, their face would cave in for good and most likely kill them.
In conclusion, Spidey wouldn't cave the guy's skull in, but he would cause massive internal bleeding, a severe concussion, and memory loss (most likely retrograde). It would still be deadly if not treated, and seeing as how the guy just lays there for around 5-10 minutes, the chance of death would be around 25%. Not as deadly as uppercutting, but still pretty powerful. If he decides to change it up a bit and hit them from the side, their chance of death skyrockets to around 75% after 2 minutes, with the same symptoms, plus a caved in face.
P.S.: The object swinging is very useful at the start of the game, but once you're a high enough level, depending on your build, you should only use webs and melee. For example, I have an attack/mobility build, so my main strategy is uppercut + air attacks, as well as web bombs. I rarely use objects unless there's a side goal that requires me to use them.

I got chills because of the how painful the injuries are and how it surpasses the pain scale, also I'm just admiring how well researched these videos are. I know that anatomy isn't actually in line with Austin's scope of knowledge but I appreciated the effort because he put actual clinical cases which I see on a day to day basis as a med student.

So, my measurements may not be perfectly precise, but I think I'm close enough, so without further ado:

Using that we can find out how fast the oil drum is travelling when he swings it in one full circle, which takes him about 0.8 seconds. Let me just point out that the thing is at 20.95 m/s, which is much faster than cars are allowed to drive in towns over here! And without taking it any further we can say, taking a tiny car crash to the face is gonna HURT! But we're not here to start and quit before our goal and our goal is to find out just how screwed those henchmen are! Since the barrel comes to a stop in one frame and we know the game is running at 30fps, we can plug those numbers into a simple ol' a = v/t, giving us an acceleration of 628.4 m/s²! Using those 16.78 kilos you gave us to work with and measuring the face to be about 342.1 cm² we know that unfortunate henchman is getting more than 308 kPa to the face... which is disppointingly little. I mean, we're not even in the megapascals yet! That's like 15% of what you need to break the skull (more than enough to smash a nose, though), but it will give you one heck of a concussion! We're still talking one and a half Vladimir Klitschkos without boxing gloves!
So, to answer the question "How screwed are they?": Considering more than one Klitschko is hitting 'em in the face - thoroughly.

I'm glad you made a video like this to show just how much work goes into making one of your SCIENCE expositions. To remind people that this isn't just you making grandiose statements and giant leaps in logic for the sake of entertaining. Hi Austin, here's a scientific exercise for you. Have you ever played Bayonetta? If not, spoiler alert, but in the final boss fight a gigantic boss character is punched straight into our sun. I am not exaggerating. I know that stuff hits the sun all the time, but with that character being punched from just beyond Jupiter into the centre of our galaxy I was wondering what the consequences for the rest of the galaxy were in that case. I feel the game kind of... glossed over that. Maybe you could look into this eventually? Thanks in advance for reading and please keep up the awesome work. :)
