How much more is there to say about Minecraft? A lot it turns out. Have you ever wondered about the day and night cycle of the Minecraft world? It is fascinating... in the horrifying way video game science always ends up being. Today, Austin is going to show you just how scary the Minecraft world really is and why there would be no survivors.

@@ace_of_skulls11 the nether and end are specifically other dimensions, so they probably don't exist on/in the minecraft planet.

I would say that there could be a black hole beyond the bedrock. This would explain the massive density and gravitational pull of the planet. Also it explains why the void is so deadly. The high density bedrock could be holding the minecraft world from collapsing into the black hole core at it's center.
I always thought that bedrock was supposed to separate the over world and the nether because of the achievement "we need to go deeper"

That wouldn’t make sense, day night cycles are depended upon where you are compared to the equator. When you are at the equator you have a basic day/night cycle, but the North Pole and South Pole complete day or night cycles for 6 months at a time, depending on the axis. If everyone was living at the poles and still had 20 minutes for a day night cycle, the equator would have a cycle of seconds.....that’s really fast, and earth doesn’t exist anymore

And why the sun is always directly above them
Actual big brain
I have got a fun theory. I get it that the Minecraft world is finite, but in Minecraft world no matter where you are, the position of the sun will be same. This means that the whole Minecraft world is just a very very tiny portion of a spherical planet (also I'm assuming rest of planet unexplorable). This could change this theory AND the theory matpat did on Minecraft gravity (cuz gravity will also be the same on the explorable world). Basically, Minecraft planet is a lot lot huge than we assume it. Hope that you read it, like if u agree. Also I didn't read any wiki, this is straight out of my mind lol
youre right tho, you cant race the sun in minecraft, no matter how fast you go it is gonna set anyway so thats true
this is exactly the point i was about to put in a comment myself, the borders in the minecraft world ARE the habitable zone. Outside of that zone gravity is so strong it literally forces you through the ground (falling out of the world)
No matter how far you go towards the sun it never gets any bigger
In addition, we already know Steve and Alex are stupidly strong (and can hold more than 2 Titanics in their pocket) so maybe that's why they can withstand such a large habitable area.
