The fact that Beyoncé did the Tina Turner tribute back in 2005, and then came back to do this tribute for Barbra Streisand... shows not only her versatility as an artist, but solidifies her place amongst the greats.
She also did a tribute to and played as Etta James!

Lovely classy comment. Showed great respect, which Beyone would have, as a singer herself. Beyonce has a beautiful voice but it can't compare with the emotion Streisand conveyed in her own renditions.

Beyoncé doesn’t get enough credit for her vocal prowess. She’s an excellent vocalist. Her technique, tone, and interpretative powers are on par with many of the GOATs.
Beyonce is not just on par. Her technique is better. Her pitch is more accurate & steady, and her runs are faster, more defined, and more musical than ALL the others. She also has more consistent vibrato in her entire range than a lot of the other ones, and she varries the speed of her vibrato for musical effect as well. Her technique is deeper than most of the other singers.
That is just absurd. She is a multiple Grammy award winner, what credit did you want?

I am not a fan of Beyonce singing(vocals) But I would confidently say she sang this song better than Babra.
And I must say legendary Gladys Knight sang this song like No One. It should have been her original song. I haven't heard any one singing it better than Gladys, followed by the original Supremes Mary Wilson.

Agreed. She could really benefit from some of the song writers and producers of that era. Gladys Knight realized that back in the day and went full Streisand and it paid off. Those classics are sung today by adults, and by youth paying homage to adults. They could even be sang by Gladys, still, and Gladys would not appear odd or dated. Beyonce really should put herself on that path so she can be so honored in 30 or 40 years and also have a performing discography for golden years.

I gotta tell y'all..as a guy born in '68, it goes without saying, Ive seen all of Barbra's greatest moments, be them on film or 'on wax'. And its footage like this, at the Kennedy Center Opera House, in Wash, DC..where I was born, that reminds me of a youth where I ALWAY heard Streisand's voice, right there among people like Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Aretha, Sarah Vaughn, Ella, Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan/Rufus, any and all Motown stuff, etc..I could go on and on. But her talent was that far-reaching..that the black community LOVED her, just as much as we loved James Brown or Prince. Beyonce' did an incredible job, here...didnt oversing it..just kept it nice and simple and pretty.

I went to a performing arts high school back in the late 80s. I auditioned for the music theater program in my 11th grade year with this song. None of my classmates had ever heard me sing before... My best friend played the piano while I sang, At the end of the song everyone was standing up cheering... One of my best memories...

I can see this young lady doing an amazing job acting in a modern remake of the film. Stunning.
While Barbra Streisand's stands alone and is a gem I actually prefer Beyonce's tone,pitch & vibrato to hers. Without the one we wouldn't have the other. Without the other we wouldn't have this. Stellar rendition and classy closing words: It's an honor to sing for you Ms. Streisand.
I didn't know that beyonce tone. bravo madam very nice vibrato. I like her soft voice, when she sings high sweet; I prefer her soft voice mixed with her full voice .. I find her full voice when she sings loud quite flat .. I did not know this facet of her voice. magnificent
Both of their pitch are correct, if anything Barbra is more perfect centred. Pitch is subjective. But tone and vibrato is your preference

That was a classy performance and acknowledgement of a legend from a young one still in her prime. Loved the Fanny Bryce gown and hair. Beyonce's voice is much more pure than many think. Great job!

Wow, Beyonce's cover of that song was breath taking! So much texture and strength in her voice. You could feel the pain expressed when hitting the high notes. Barbara was nodding her head and saying YES that is how it's done. One super star listening to another one.

People need to STOP comparing one artist’s voice to another! It’s a TRIBUTE!! Of course, one singer isn’t going to sound like another and of course, Barbara sings it beautifully, but Beyonce’ did a wonderful job. I can’t imagine the pressure she was under, yet it was a classy, beautiful tribute and Beyonce’ is stunning!!!

Beyonce is certainly a legend in her own right and for her to be so courteous and dignified not only in her performance but in her comment of praise to Streisand ... she was like a little girl in the way she said it was an honor to sing for her..I can tell that she has respected Streisand's work that makes me I want to listen to more Beyonce
