Im finishing Outlander season 2 as I watch this lol. She has such an interesting accent. You can hear the English parts in some of her words but then it sounds pretty americanized too. She's an excellent actress.
before i knew she was irish i always thought she was british bc of the perfect accent on outlander.
This is simply an Irish accent. It's not Americanised, It just has features that were incorporated into American accents as a lot of the European people who came to America were of course Irish. Same with what you call 'English features'. They're just linguistic features present in Ireland and England.
She also lived all over the world but mainly in LA for like, 10 years, I think
It’s not Americanised. It’s just a typical Irish accent. As mentioned, the Irish accent shares some similarities to English accents (or British as Americans call it) and the Irish accent is one of the contributing elements of accents in the north east (New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland etc.) and also Appalachian and Southern accents.
As an Irish person, I can detect even the merest hint of an American twang in people who’ve emigrated there and as duty bound to mercilessly ridicule them and refer to them as “the Yank” for the entire night in the pub.

She's Irish but lived in US for 13 years. In Outlander she's playing an English surgeon. In Ford v Ferrari she and Bale were from Wales and had Brummie accents.
