I met Keanu about 16 years ago at the premier of the Matrix movie in NYC. I worked at the movie theater as a cleaner and server. The entire night, I saw all the stars in the movie come and go without any of them looking at me or saying hello to me, perhaps because of my color and the cheap uniform I had on. For 16 years, I have never forgotten the event that will follow the first few hours after I begun my shift at work that evening. Keanu walked up to me and asked me how I was doing!! I said to myself "are you really talking to me?" Believe it or not, he actually came up to me and showed compassion and care. That was the last thing I ever expected anyone to do that evening. He proceed to ask me about my job and where I come from. And I told him I was from Ghana and have been working at the theater for about a year. He chatted with me for about 5 mins but it felt like forever. He then gave me a hug I will never forget. He is truly a good human being. I don't usually leave comments on YT but this is to confirm this video. Keanu is good.

I've read and watched videos on Keanu's life and his well known Altruistic lifestyle that he would never publicize himself. Coming up to you and honestly being interested in your story is indicative of the truly good hearted person he is. What a great memory to hold on to.

Not only that, he never sounds jaded or old/weary. He sounds as enthusiastic about life now as he did decades ago when he was first starting out...maybe even more so. Somehow he seems to have found the peace most of us are still seeking. Want nothing but the best for him, he seems a really genuine human.

Your’s is the first to focus on those we leave behind, the ones that really count. I was taught well, I truly believe in “it’s the thought that counts” when giving gifts. I’m uncomfortable RECEIVING gifts. When anyone asked what I want for a gift, I tel them “Give a meal to someone who’s hungry, buy a coat for someone who’s cold, do something nice for someone who’s having a bad day. And then tell me about it.” I’m not a rich man, but my parents went out of their way to show me that there is always somebody worse off than me. I live by that lesson, and you cemented it.

My brother and I met him at a airport. I believe it was JFK. He gave us his private number. Basically if we had any questions. He can help steer us in the right direction. We were looking into showbiz. My brother was in a bunch of shows as a extra. He did go somewhere. Even worked as a model. I decided to go in the military. What a great guy. Very down to earth. Very compassionate. This was probably around 1989/90.
The fact that this gigantic superstar actor is sitting here *actually* answering the questions genuinely tells you everything you need to know about him. Dudes a class act.

@Tim Dawson He's a good role model who seems to live his life by the morals that other people, who act this way on set, only pretend to have. People like him because if you were to catch him outside the view of a camera, (as many people have, such as set workers and other people who know him by professional or personal relationships) and from what people have said repeatedly, he's basically this exact same person in real life. It's surprising because he has a lot of money and fame, and yet doesn't allow it to influence his perceptions of other people or regard himself in higher esteem as though money and fame are all that defines a person, like many people in his position do. He's the kind of person people should look up to, so I don't see why you're bitching about a bunch of people who do. There's nothing wrong with people admiring a decent man for being decent.

That answer he gave to the death question is forever saved in my faves and my head. I had just lost someone close to me, a friend since my freshman year of college...so almost 20 years...and his answer to that came up on my feed. It's so simple, not really ground breaking, but somehow stuck with me. That answer helped remembering my buddy for the happy times and my own grieving. Thank you, Keanu.
Having been widowed twice & recently my mom joined my dad on the other side I absolutely agree with Keanu. We keep our loved ones alive by remembering them & missing them. We all need love.
Keanu lost his best friend to a drug overdose in 93, his daughter was stillborn in 99, and a little less than 2 years later, in 2001, her mother was killed when she was ejected from the windshield of her car, that she crashed.... only a few days after getting back together with Keanu (they broke up after the loss of their daughter)... he knows pain. And I think that's what makes him seem so human compared to alot of the big stars we see. All of that happened right as his career was exploding and it really puts a stark contrast to all the unimportant shit in Hollywood that everyone else places so much value on.
Yes, It was a very sweet simple answer and very beautiful thing to say. We don't think about who will miss us, I think we as humans probably think more like "what will we, ourselves" miss, when we are gone. Not the other way. So to say, who loved us will miss us sounds beautiful to me, that we will be remembered by those that love us. Just my thought. Anyway I'm glad his words brought you comfort. He is always thinking about the other person's feelings.

Honestly I think that its a bad interview. I used to watch some of his interviews 20 yrs ago in comparison to today. Not much different. Always at a loss for good words. Choice questions,short answers and he always looks like he is spazzing. I like him on screen though.

This February 2022, will mark the 16th year without my Father. He died 2 days before his 53rd birthday.
As an only child, I miss him so much. Every day aches.
He fulfilled his end of life dream and I donated his body to our local medical school. Best gift ever.
