for him, in my grief this song brought a bit
closer to my brother and after 2 years I still

I remember that every time the song said “hey” or “ho” my dog would bark as a puppy. He passed away today and I wanted to listen to it as a memento. There isn’t a song out there that’s made me cry as much as this.
Edit: Thank you everyone for your support! I was out of town when I got the news, but once I got home his brother helped me deal with the loss. We are both alright, but every now and then it's clear that both Popi (my dog) and I both miss our furry little buddy, which is okay. It's important to cherish the moments we have with our companions. Please refrain from arguing about religion, as everyone regardless of their beliefs mourns when someone they care about dies. The existence or nonexistence of an afterlife doesn't change the fact that we are on earth now, and we should enjoy the time we spend with others.

During Outdoor Ed, we were all in our cabin about to sleep with the lights off. Our leader randomly came, i was the first one to spot him with a guitar. I’m a HT survivor. It began when I was under 21. I played this song a lot before breaking-free with the help of a mandated reporter. When I was in it, I longed for freedom and belongingness outside of those wicked walls. I made a vow to never give up on myself, my hopes, my wishes or my dreams. This song is so near and dear to me. It’s not even my favorite music genre, but the lyrics really spoke to me when I needed it the most! I will always listen to this song and hope that it touches many more lives! All most of us want is to be loved and to belong.

I never listen to this song for "fun" but I woke up from a vivid dream of so many of my old friends singing in harmony. It felt like a feel good movie type of situation. I still think about each one of them despite the different life paths we're taking. It's sad to watch the good ol days pass by, but the problem is you never know when you're living "the good ol days". So, to whomever reads this: enjoy the little things :). I did and I still miss it. But I don't regret anything.

He was the only one that i genuinely loved, we had been through everything together, and thhe reason i was listening to this song right here, is because no matter where we were or what we were doing, he would blast this on full volume, sing every single word, it was beautiful. This song has so many of my memories attached to it. Like me and my grandmother dancing to it in her kitchen. Me and her singing to it at my uncle’s wedding. All the times that she reminded me that the lyrics were something that she really believed was true about our family. My family swaying to it as it played at her funeral. Me and my mom having to step out of a restaurant because we were crying after it started playing. This song will make me cry every time I hear it but it also makes me think of the good times I had with her and that is why I think I keep coming back to listen to it.
