- The end in Minecraft is in a desperate need of an update. But it's likely that 1.21 will be the end update. Wanna know why? There are theories and reasons for that. The end certainly needs a end update but I don't think it should be turned into a forest with tons of flora and fauna because the gets rid of mystery and dead feeling of the end what I think would be a good end update is add a few plants and trees but have them far and few between then add end shipwrecks and end ruins with what little flora and fauna there is centered around the ruins and shipwrecks and have a end ore that is rarer than netherite, this ore could be used to make a combine different armor together. In example you could combine you elitry with your chest plate so you could fly with a chest plate or combine two chest plates to make a stronger one. And then have end mines and mineshafts to add a reason the end ore is so rare. This is what I think a cool end update would be
I agree with you! It shouldn’t be to much, but enough or interesting enough to come back to end.
Or perhaps a netherite (or whatever the Ancient Debris was before it was Debris) thing "corrupted" by the end, changing it's structure, making it slightly different. Such as instead of Knockback resistance, something like Levitation resistance (slows down the levitation in a similar way netherite does for knockback, for the shulkers and such)

I agree that the end doesn't need too much doing to it and should keep the overall feel of the place, and the end islands with the end cities and ships stay the same but it would be great if a few of the end gateways took you to a couple of different types of islands with a couple of different biomes, that had something completely unique, weird and different but still keeping the eerie void-y feel of the end.
At the moment, there's literally nothing to explore and discover other than a few end cities & ships. Every island pretty much looks the same.
Disclaimer - I say this as an observer of other people's gaming experiences in the end coz i've not been to the end yet myself (it's next on my to-do list)

Don’t get your hopes up. All we could get next update is a floating blue mob and an endangered animal.
right now, the outer end does a good job of feeling like you aren’t supposed to be there. I’d say mojang would have to keep that feeling but also enhance it to be more enticing.
Every time someone says that the end’s feel is meant to be bleak I just think that there’s a fun type of depressing, “something terrible happened here,” and a boring type of depressing, “is that it?”
Just because glowing forests won’t fit doesn’t mean you can’t have dead, frozen swamplands filled with that dark purple water the end has, decaying woods, strange rock structures or maybe even a dragon graveyard like the soul sand valleys considering there’s a head on every single end ship.
You can keep a theme of being alien, dead and bleak while still being interesting to play. It’d make that whole journey to the elytra have some substance and make you want to come back for more than just shulker shells.
Yes indeed! I think so too! I don’t think there have to be flowering biomes in the end to make it more interesting. Even though the nether also has vegetation biomes (the nether should technically also be a empty and that dead place) but most people like the nether how it is now.
I hope the end update will add more feature than the nether update. Hopefully many structures like a new castle, cool dungeons, and more. Unique biomes like one where it feels like you are super small as there are huge glowing mushrooms and large mobs 3 to 5 block tall. And tall grass to make it hard to see and huge mountains. Or a biome that is full of huge giant jagged spikes and infested with spiky fungi or something. Also new mobs. Some passive, some neutral and most hostile. It would be nice to make it seem like the end is a giant infected place. Similar to the deep dark. With many lush places like Pandora from avatar but also some very barren places that feel lonely and hollow. And maybe places that feel very exotic like say, the quantum realm in Marvel or something. It should be livable. Peaceful in places but you never know if a gigantic ender void phoneix will swoop down, grab you and toss you dozens of blocks away or a mutated insect will grab you and poison you.
PS: I don't think 1.21 will be the end update though. They already added breeze, trial chambers, armadillo, new tuff and copper blocks and a new spawner type. There will be more features but it seems there isn't enough space to add a whole overhaul to the end dimension similar to 1.16 unless mojang was very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very serious about how they sped up the process of updating. Since we all know how Mojang employees will pretty much drop dead if they are forced to work on the game for more than 10 minutes per day.

I don't think 1.21 is the end update because there's still a lot more to do in the overworld that they have started, but not finished yet. Like the villager changes. I think it would make sense to put villages in (almost) all biomes, even the new one's. But they haven't even put them in swamps. And now they want to change villagers, so I think that's what 1.21 will be about. And maybe 1.22 or 1.23 will be the end, but I don't think it's 1.21. I would be pretty surprised if it actually was.

Also there are no mushroom Villagers villages just like swamp biome, mushroom biome also needs update mushroom biome flat boring islands which has giant mushrooms and cows and nothing else. So we need some villages and other structures there.
@@Galaxverse I agree. They certainly could do a lot more to that biome. It also should really be possible to survive there and get food, wood etc. more easily than currently. And a village would also be pretty cool there.

+ villagers are just smtin that need fixing but lets be honest its something thats worthy of a minor update not a major one
@@Findingusernamesishard The thing is that I don't think the villager thing will just be fixes. Putting entire new village types is certainly not a tiny little thing. Especially if they plan for example to make villages on mountains, they would have to generate in a pretty different way to make it work. Same thing if they put one in the mangrove swamp. They would have to really think about how it generates there so that it actually makes sense and is not just a normal plain's village copied into it randomly. And I'm sure they can also make a lot of other old structures better and maybe they can still think of some features that are completely missing from the game. They could also still improve archaeology or the savanna or the desert. There's just a lot of stuff in the overworld and the villages alone certainly aren't a small thing.
The End SERIOUSLY needs an update it hasn’t been updated since 1.10.2 and it’s about time. Since the nether has all its biomes and the end needs to have biomes too. Maybe a new ore which is better than netherite But harder to get.

Although making these videos are risk taking to the public image, it's all about views at the end of the day.
The Caves and Cliffs made flat plains harder to find. Overworld blank slates need to be created first instead of just finding the 'perfect spot' to build. The End is a complete blank slate that allows absolutely anything to be built there without terraforming. Some would disagree but I enjoy the blank slate The End has to offer for builds

that white netherite armor stuff is most definitely a mistake since something similar happened in a village & pillage trailer where a villager threw upwards a redstone dust that was incorrectly colored blue

Uggghhhh... OBVIOUSLY the armor in the launcher banner is supposed to be Netherite. It just looks like iron either because of the lighting, or because of a small mistake on Mojang's part... It DOES NOT mean that they're going to add a new armor type, that's just stupid. They already said that they weren't making any armor stronger than Netherite, and all of the evidence of this video could just as easily be disproven by thinking "hey, these little details that are just items in Minecraft are simply coincidences and NOT secret hints."
Remember when people thought that Nintendo was gonna add Skull Kid to Smash Bros. simply because they saw colored chairs in the background of one of Sakurai's videos? Yeah this is what this feels like...
I'd love an End Update, and they'll definitely have one eventually, but seriously people need to stop taking copium and acting like its totally going to happen. This same sort of thing happened the last three updates (probably even more, in fact), like when everyone kept thinking 1.20 and 1.19 were going to be End Updates prior to their announcement. :/

well for me when we all watched the Minecraft live event trailer did anyone else notice that the cherry flower petals took them to the stronghold.... the place where you actually go to find the end portal? now this might just be a coincidence and purely random but maybe you guys are on to something i mean the stronghold was a big hint, but it could also just be the trailer and there's nothing special about it.

i don't know the name of it so i can't look it up but from what i know it was a scrapped type or something, i have no idea why its in trails and tales trailer tho
We had the aquatic update, village update, nether, cave and cliffs, and trails and tales updates. What's left to update now? The end. And they saved that for the end. That's all we need now, and then they can slow down for a bit. The game will will more complete then, everything will be updated.
That’s making a lot of sense!
When they do an End update, because we know they will eventually do so, I think end equipment should be a sidegrade to Netherite tools. Instead of them being straight better, make them have some other unique property that makes you want to have a set of end gear and a set of netherite gear. Maybe End level tools don't get destroyed if they fall into the void, and it keeps you from accidentally going off a block edge that you would take damage from without jump. Maybe they are used for ranged weapons by upgrading bows and crossbows or maybe a new type, since netherite weapons are all melee.
Also, with us now knowing it wont show up in this update still has high hopes for it happening in maybe 2024. They mentioned they hired a bunch of new people to increase production speed and yet this trial and technical items, while being bigger than say trails&tails, still isn't as comprehensive as the nether. What might be happening is they have the end dev team, and then a team for one or two minor updates. If they learned from their mistakes with the caves&cliffs update, they may want to wait until it is mostly finished so as to not make the playerbase upset. Everyone will be much more happy with a surprise comprehensive End update as opposed to a repeat of caves & cliffs.
Then they can repeat this process with more minor updates as they work on the deep dark realm.

We all need end update also what about the bits and bobs update where it’s just adding odd things like odd new weapons odd mobs odd armor odd new blocks, more inventory space and looking over old things just to polish the game and make it better

Based on the recent changes in 1.20.2, the experimental villager trading rebalance, it is likely that 1.21 will overhaul finding enchanting books, and may also add the jungle and swamp villages.
We need a jungle, arctic, end, savanna, badlands, desert, farming, and deep dark updates, they should update that first, then start adding the updates like the trails and tales

you're welcome it's a work in progress. They really do need to update the end. Also, they need beige color blocks
I wish they would add a teleportation block, it could have three functions. Function 1 you can teleportation a block you have in your build to your off hand or inventory, you don't even have to open a Ender chest or regular chest. Function 2 as a new building block with smoke particles, Function 3 as wireless redstone you could teleport Redstone signals to were every you need to go. you could travel around your minecraft world extremely quick, all you would need is 2 teleportation blocks you can set on at your base and one at your mob farm or somewhere in the end

No one goes to the End. Not because it's empty, but because it's hard for most common players to get to. An End update would be wasted amongst most players. Focusing on it would kill Minecrafts momentum.
I disagree... The Enderdragon is not hard, and getting to the End is literally one of the main goals to beating the game. To say that most players have never beaten the game or gone to the end is false, because literally everyone I know has been to the End. Getting Elytras is one of the biggest priorities for most players, since the game is just so much more convenient when you have one.
I think everyone will disagree with thus comment. Why end is still empty and didn't got updated. If end got a update, a lot of players would play in end...

You unfortunately wont get your precious end update for another 5 or so years. Best not to think much about it.

Mojang confirmed the end will not be updated until all overworld biomes are updated before the nether update was even done.
I still hope they will add it later on though

I could see them change the boss battle a lot. Over half of the MC playbase still have not been to the end in survival, so maybe make it so you can go to the end and then choose if you wanna fight the enderdragon now or later

I feel like the points of the Nether and End dimensions lay in the name of the game. Mine(-)craft.
The Nether is all about adventuring (dangerous mobs), progressing and gathering resources (netherite, blaze rods), therefore "Mine" would be the appropriate name. The Overworld is where both of the words Mine and Craft come into play, however. It's the dimension with most resources and the dimension with most biomes, scenery, mechanics and structures. Every time Mojang shows a new biome in a trailer, they then show how you can use the new blocks as decoration or how you can use the new items to craft something.
The End's purpose, however, was intended to be a simple one. Kill the dragon to reach "The End" of the game. In a way, the theme I was talking about earlier is still preserved since you finally "craft" the story of your journey, and every story is incomplete without an ending, but that's a bit besides the ppoint of what I'm gonna say next. The rest of the end dimension is essentially "endgame" content, as the elytra and shulker boxes are quality of life upgrades.
So, If they update the end again, they should keep the "endgame" and "craft" themes somehow, and to do that, they should add more features and quality of life updates, but NOT much biomes. "Why?" because the end seems to be intended as the place where you create your most ambitious buildings. Think about it, the surface of all the islands seem to be on the same "ocean" level, the only mobs are endermen and they are not hostile unless provoked + you can get rid off them by just replacing the surface endstone, both lava and water can exits in the end at the same time, the only "trees" can be removed from your path easily as they break just like sugarcane, the only structures generating provide you with a light source item (end rods). The only things that stop it from being perfect to live in is the fact you need to export all necessary materials from the Overworld, you can't sleep there, and the atmosphere for a lot of builds is just off bc the sky is pitch black and there's no day. If those problems are somehow fixed, the end will be the place where people will spend the most of their time on, just like it should be as it is the Endgame dimension.
