@@LucasDurandofDallas Yeah, he left seminary to sleep with a woman who ended up divorcing him, and had to get a job at Dunder Mifflin when becoming a priest was no longer an option. So yeah, his relationship with God is probably really complicated.
I love how gentle and compassionate Pam is about forcing Michael to say he's not the godfather, as if she knows how embarrassing it must be for him to be treated like the child that he is.
I’ve always been bothered by that scene. Is Pam deaf or something? Michael literally just told her that he knew he wasn’t actually Cece’s godfather. Why did she ask him to say it when he already did?

1. Pam and Jim hate Michael. At this point in the series, it was pretty much established that Michael was well aware of that
2. Nobody would want their work boss being the godfather of their child
3. Pam and Jim would’ve talked to him months prior and asked him if he would be the godfather, which they obviously didn’t do
@@superjackster0165 Why would Michael do any of the things that he does? Why would he make a spectacle of himself at Phyllis's wedding? Why would he awkwardly crash Jim's party knowing he wasn't invited? Why would he try to kiss Pam after proposing to his girlfriend of a couple of weeks, and why would he photoshop himself into his girlfriend's old pictures with her ex-husband? Because he's a narcissistic child who's desperate for attention and affection and has zero self-awareness. I find it completely believable that Pam would need him to drop the funny voice and actually say, in so many words, that he knows he's not the godfather before she would trust that he gets it.

Michael's need for a family is so sweet (although I'd be genuinely annoyed if a person was acting like that). It makes total sense that Pam explicitly wants him to say that he isn't the godfather. She doesnt want the office to be her whole life.
That's what makes this this show great: While being comedy gold, it's actually very deep and sooo authentic.
Everyone saying how Michael would’ve been a great godfather, totally glossing over the fact that he started calling CeCe a little b-i-t…… because he was feeling spiteful and petty 🤣 MKAY

Everyone here saying Micheal should have been The Godfather. And yeah, he is sweet. But he also invited a bunch of people to a private event without asking them, is shown not to be great with money and is a bit overbearing. You have to think carefully when it comes to who will take care of your child if you die. And I think they’re making the right decision I’m not choosing Micheal first. I love his character, but it just makes sense to go with a safer option

Much as I love watching these Office clips over and over....and over again, they kinda do make Michael look like a bit of a jerk. You only really get a sense of his nicer side when you watch the series as a whole.

Michael claims the right to invite everyone to “his” celebration and then tries to insinuate himself as the godfather and sit with Jam’s family and gets mad when it doesn’t work out. For some reason I keep coming back to this clip to watch Michael attempt to live his laughable delusions and then get butthurt when it doesn’t happen. Idk why I enjoy watching it happen. Possibly related to my animosity towards my own family. It feels good to watch Jam exercise their power to shut out someone who thinks he deserves to be part of their family.
Also: a bus from Pennsylvania to Mexico? That doesn’t sound very efficient/cost effective, plus they’re gonna have a hard time adjusting to the much hotter climate

I think Michael would have made a FANTASTIC godfather. Pam and Jim completely missed out
Historically, being godparents to a baby meant you were committing to investing into that child's spiritual development and, in some cases, accepting responsibility for the child as his/her guardians should anything happen to the parents. Do you really think Michael is qualified for either role? I don't think so.
