Unbelievable the amount of distractions they throw at us to make us forget that he did in fact start the fire

Yeah I actually found that whole process pretty weird. I mean first Jim comes out of nowhere with that book even though he has only known for a few days that Dwight was gonna throw a garden party and then Dwight happens to buy that exact book out of hundreds of garden party books

I can't see any joke there, he's trying too hard to look like a briliant, free-minded and odd-looking individual while he is not, that's the usual Ryan... It would sound like pointing out the "underrated joke" that Dwight got tricked by Jim, while it's just the way characters are supposed to behave in that show.

You really have to appreciate how willing the poor waitstaff was to just go along with this absurdity.
Hey, their lives are usually really boring so anything exciting that happens, they will go with it.
You can easily get almost anyone to do surprisingly ridiculous things using only an appropriately sized paycheck.

Even though this all started as a prank, it seems everyone enjoyed themselves.
I was thinking about how weird it would be for dwight to hire a bunch of people to work his party and do all that stuff - and then I realized the show did exactly that - they hired a bunch of extras to do all that stuff

I like the look on Stanley's and Andy's faces at the ending ceremony. You can tell they really enjoy it.
I was too distracted by Ashton Kutcher to notice the biggest smile (other than pretzel day) I've ever seen from Stanley there, I had to go back and watch it again
Despite falling victim to a creative prank, Dwight's garden party was unironically more enjoyable than any party that a manager of the office has thrown. Some of those get-togethers were awkward as hell and/or just plain creepy. So....maybe James Trickington was on to something after all.
Or....perhaps James Halpert should have spent more time on pranking his unsuspecting managers.

Jim is probably the best example of someone who has tons of potential but wastes it for years. Here for example, he literally was capable of writing and self-publishing a book and only used that ability it for a one-time bit.

I don’t know if attending a party like this would be “fun” but you know for sure it’d one hell of an anecdote.
I mean it would be better then a super boring one.
