In my opinion, this tournament win makes Wolfe the best Pokémon VGC player, with Ray coming second. To win Pokémon tournaments at every competitive level, at a time when VGC picked up massive popularity (versus when the first VGC Worlds were held back) gives Wolfe’s wins more weight I feel. Congrats to the VGC Goat. Now some1 go make this guy a Wikipedia page!
Wolfey himself would agree ray is better than him ,I know wolfey is the only one to have won all the formats but ray won worlds three times and at that time winning worlds for non Japanese players was even harder cuz u had no idea about the Japanese meta
They're easily the two best ever and I don't really know if there's a number 3 even near them. Longevity does mean a lot though, cool to see such absolute winners though
A fun vgc tournament, especially the finals. I think Coalossal set up, Gmax venusaur in sun, and Regigigas/Weezing are all fun strats to play online. Wolfey the GOAT as usual

Can you change move sets before the final. Coz I Incineraor had Snarl I think and then in the final it had taunt. It would be great if move sets can be changed after each set.

Wolfe is the goat it was amazing watching him play every game. He does have the luck of Ash lol but his skills are undeniable! He switched his leads almost every game with a different strategy each time even after success and against the wall he played his ass off.
I was analizing the final Match between Wolfe and David,and looks like as if Davide choose 4 pkmn to ensure him to lose,every movement choosen, nothing to do with the other matches in all the tournament, choosing pkmn to benefit wolfe , makes me thing there was black hand or dime thread,the Davide in the final Match desitions was like a kid playing his first online match ...I can dare to think and say that was some kind of arrengements between the players to let wolfe win, I have watched the matches many many times...
Na,that doesn't happen in pokemon.Wolf just played way better and handled the sleep powders/yawns very well unlike all the other players that went up against Davide.

@@CHAOS-wi5gd there are plenty of hobby shops doing irl tourneys well there was before covid-19 but that's what I'm saying irl plays nothing like their online game. In the app there is an add for play pokemon that shows all IRL locations.

Then you have a useless Venusaur with Focus Sash, can't take any hits with residual damage and fake out everywhere, dies to max airstream from lando and moltres, max flares from coalossal. Put some respect on his run he went this entire tournament on the winner's bracket. Player's Cup finalist is a great achievement!

At that point it was clear Regigigas wasn't his win condition (burned, breaking swiped and with weezing threatned to be KOd about to get slow started and intimidated thats like less 1/8th of the damage output) and he only had 2 special attackers in the back. His chances were already slim but with some sleep power and yawn cheese there was a small but very real chance he could pull back the match. However, if Dragapult was allowed to set up light screen he might as well forfeit the match, the damage output would be far too low. On the other hand he might have predicted a switch. The Taunt covers for both whereas if he had sludgebombed and wolf indeed switched, the damage would have been so insignificant that it was basically a free switch in
