You have to hope that the networks covering the NBA will show the comments you made regarding racial injustice. Given that there will be multiple games every day, that available broadcast time is rather small. He might think that he would get more eyeballs if there were no games to distract the public from the issues.

When Lebron speaks on issues in his community and country, issues that are very close to his heart b/c he has lived the black experience in America and understands the problems in this country, ya'll told him to "shut up and dribble". When he didn't speak on the issues in Hong Kong, issues that he probably doesn't know very well and thus feels unqualified, ya'll chastise him.
I'm not saying the NBA handled the Hong Kong situation perfectly, I'm just saying it's idiotic to think that Lebron (and the NBA) are in the wrong for speaking up on racial injustice in this country (something they are very qualified to speak about) just because they didn't speak up on Hong Kong (something they probably felt a lot less qualified to speak on).
What's more is that Lebron and the NBA have so much more power to inact change in the United States than they do in China. Lebrons input on Hong Kong probably wouldn't have changed much other than lose him and the league their contracts. Meanwhile in the United States they have a lot more power to make real change!
