Not yet. Mahomes is only being paid $2 million next season. This contact is an extension that comes AFTER next season. They can still field their insane roster for one more year.

Cool Breeze prove me wrong? We’ve had so many hall of fame players that continued to stay on the chiefs despite better offers from better teams. Are owners literally had to force Gonzales’s just to put him on a team with a chance to win a chip and we literally got nothing in return. Holmes stayed and he was carrying the team literally and he went through two free agencies where he could of left for way better teams yet he stayed. Dante hall has every team trying to pick him up for three free agencies yet he stayed in kc for less money and less chance of winning a chip. I can keep going why players love playing in a city where it’s the only sport they care about and they don’t have to worry about getting taxed crazy because we aren’t like the east and west coast with socialist taxes

Baseball has its own risks with injuries and longevity but it's not remotely comparable to the NFL, even for the QBs that are being protected more and more.

KC C’s costs for the next potential Super Bowl win just put them & Mahomes in EVERYONE’s & every teams’ “kill” sights.
And nobody mentions that Mahomes is set even if he were to have an injury or missed time. That's why you take long-term deals. Security for the team (that prices won't go up) and security for the player (that an injury or loss in skills won't jeopardize his worth).
