Having an attention seeking toxic presence like Kaep during that show is sure to decimate this team. The good thing is that it’ll showcase Tyrod Taylor who has long been due a REAL chance to be a Starter in this league with a real offense. Still think the cowboys should’ve gotten him for pennies, his TD to int ratio during years in Buffalo with no offensive line should’ve had teams lining up for a bargain

Jeremy Merchant bro, look at Brady’s performance in college, Average. No one woulda thought he would be a 6 time super bowl champ. Not saying Lock will be that, but you can’t always judge based on college performance. He had a great junior year, playing for a mediocre team, he made mizzou better when he played for them in college, even had the touchdown record until burrow passed this last year. Don’t be dumb, drew lock is good, and the way they built that team around him, he’ll be even better this year with better receivers, another great running back, better o-line. He will shine this year, I’ll put money on that.
Both LA teams are going to be highlighted on HBO's HardKnocks which is a HUGE PR move but it also kinda confirms that Kaepernick will be at the Chargers training camp.

If Kaepernick doesn’t go to the Chargers now he will still get picked up as soon as a starter gets hurt, same with Cam and there is usually at least two times a year that seems to happen for a while, look at Teddy for Saints last year.
Colin Kaepernick was not that good at the end.. I don’t get why people think he was. He had Harbaugh and that was it!

Brian Thomas He cant be “coached up” he got carried by a great coach who had a top 5 defense to boot when he went to the superbowl. Kap cant read a defense, he never could and he never will be able to. Thats the real reason he didnt show up to that NFL tryout they made just for him. They had a defense ready for him. Kap looks good when its just him and a WR on the field, but thats not football and never will be.

Kaep wasn't actually that bad. In 12 games, he threw for 2241 yard, 16 touchdowns on just 4 interceptions. In addition he rushed for 468 yard and 2 touchdowns. These stats were pulled directly from Pro-Football Reference if you'd like to check them out.
Are these stats great? Not really. But are they bad? No, they're not. And considering the team he had to work with in his last year, I think he did just fine. Not to mention that his coach was freaking Chip Kelly. So I'm eager to see how he does with a better team and a competent coach.

Kaepernick is right there, better numbers and experience. People like the OP here that have some sort of "false" memory of how "bad" Kaepernick was. The numbers don't support that claim at all.

rhoads031 the only stat you need to remember is that he lost 10 straight in 2016. The league is an outcome business. You win, you play. You win, you get paid. Whether your performance statistically warrants a payday or not, it’s all about the wins. Kap didn’t get it done. Period.

@@victorlarssoncondori1458 the question now is Kap's release better and can he put he up numbers still.. he very well might not have had a starting job regardless of kneeling, the league saw he was raising a black power fist after TD celebrations and his play had declined and teams don't want a QB with a giant wind up.. today, the NFL says they see that TD celebration as ok, but we won't know until the season starts.. on the flip side Kap is a great player/teammate, was 5 yards away from a SB, and has always been better than players like Brian Hoyer/Fitzpatrick..

Big Panthers fan and I see clearly why Cam has not been signed: you have to click a lot of boxes with him. For one, you've got to be a shotgun team. Two, he does not have the best footwork, so the amount of trickeration and change of direction in your playbook has to be low.

As a Jets fan I made this exact case for Kap last year.
Minshew was 6 and 6 with 21 tds and 6 picks on a really bad team last year and started playing week 1 with no first team reps all preseason and was a 6th round pick. They seem to be rebuilding and he 100% deserves the chance to run that team.
Cam had the infamous fumble and chickened out in the Super Bowl, which all but buried the Panthers. He has talent, but not a winner's mentality. That's not worth the price point Cam might ask for.
They also dont think Colin can beat out Tyrod. Cam 100% would and they wouldnt do that to Justin.

How Cam doesn’t have a job yet blows me away, like yeah, he’s injury prone but he’d make the BEST backup of all time or if you have a situation like the Saints or Colts last year and have a very serviceable backup then he’s a great choice at starter. And if he stays healthy he’s probably a top 5-10 quarterback in the NFL

Cam is useless when he inevitably ends up injured again within a few games. Also, compare the stats of the 2 qbs over their last five seasons. Kaepernicks accuracy rate on average is higher than Cams, his average QB rating is higher than Cams, his average yards per pass is also higher. He does have benefits over Newton.
