It is also followed religiously by 4 states and 1 territory, whilst having teams in the two other states. Meanwhile NRL is only followed by two states. AFL is clearly Australia's most popular sport and is Australia's game.

There is the USAFL, and then some other “league” that’s try to shake things up. Sort of like the NFL and the XFL, everyone knows which one is legit and which one is a straw house....

AFL players don’t torp as generally it’s not necessary as they can already drop punt better

Handballs looked great and movement off the ball to put yourselves into space to receive it was on point Brother... Obviously I know you can boot the leather off a ball and your accuracy was great! Just need to practice short, low, flat kicking passes more like a QB pass with your foot Haha! Kicking goals from tight angles is a fun training drill too. Damn impressed though Mate! Little more work on bouncing the ball while running, and dropping the footy onto your foot when kicking need some practice, but you're already at a level that you could play a game for a C grade Club (They play hard to win this level but it's also much more lighthearted & fun (Still bloody rough though!) and people of all skill levels play without being shat on if they are learning or aren't the best) How goods your tackling and cardio though? you'll need it!. Thats Bloody impressive for such a new person to the game, big props Mate! You gotta come over to watch a big game at the MCG later in the year bro, 90k + in the croud you'll love it. Try to make it Collingwood vs Carlton, Biggest rivalry & non Finals game by far and the passion in the croud is something to behold... Keep it up Brother, us Aussies are ready to adopt you for all the love you've shown!

Hey Pat, It's an amazing feeling having someone validate the way all AFL supporters feel. Particularly someone who is a champion in another sporting code. I'm super impressed you are potentially influencing others to take a look. I truly hope you are invited to watch a game at the "G". Its a cheap promo ball that kids muck around with. They handle completely differently to the real game ball Sherrin that even junior clubs use at training and in games (noting that the junior balls are smaller than the adult ones). Given this is a video about how the Sherrin goes, its a shame he didnt have a proper Sherrin.

@Bonswally it seems to me that Essendon biggest rival would have to be Hawthorn. If you live in Melbourne just tell me for sure I'm wrong. But from all I've heard and observed the Pies are the Blues biggest rival followed by the Bombers. I know that the nastiest, bloodiest battles since the early 80's have been Hawks v Essendon

If you want to run with the ball in AFL you have to bounce the ball every 5 steps or so. Vital part of the game for any midfielder

Yes boys! Love that you're getting in to it. You can launch a barrel (spiral [think NFL punt]) Patty, but 90 percent of kicks in AFL are drop punts. Meaning they spin backwards end over end. When passing and shooting the Sherrin the drop punt is far easier to control.. I wanna see you boys hitting' targets with drop punts, preferred and non-preferred sides please.
