Hating Bettman is one of my favorite things about the NHL, but he's actually done a great job with the NHL's plan. I'll have to thank the Body Snatcher who swapped out with him.

@@TheKnightofAwesomeness I know. I've been a Dodger fan all my life so I have some bias towards his treatment of the Astros. But to call the Commissioner's Trophy a "piece of metal," toss out game-altering ideas, the way he handled the 2017 scandal, and so many other reasons is tragic. Baseball is an amazing sport despite what people say, and I fear this management will hurt the future of the league.

How is he to blame while the players won't take paycuts because of the lost revenue and won't agree to the idea of playing games in designated quarantine host cities
The other thing about Manfred being a lawyer is that depending on the type of law, he may never have even seen the inside of a courtroom. Even within litigation, many, many cases settle out of court. I knew one attorney who had been with a law firm for 7 years and never had a trial in his first 7 years.
Most lawyers don't ever see a courtroom. That's not what corporate/labor law is about.

Worst Commissioner in sports
Rob Manfred is not as popular or polarizing as Roger Goodell, but he is actually the worst Commissioner in sports. Even before Covid-19, MLB attendance has been declining the last few years, this would make attendance fall off Great Trango.

Manfred said, ok, here's what we'll do....Players said, oh wait, we want more games and more pay. The players were negotiating in bad faith. Without a gate, ie. Fans in the seats, concessions, parking, merchandise, the renvue is lower, Tv contracts can't foot the entire bill....everyone knows this but the players and obviously, Pat McAfee.

Manfred is a disaster. Lost all credibility. Stupid pace of play initiatives. Botched the Astros sign stealing scandal. Same with Red Sox sign stealing. Called WS ring a piece of metal. Now this debacle.
He is the only commissioner who has ever started his job under the premise there is something inherently wrong with not the way the sport is run, but the sport itself.
Manfred wasted a huge opportunity to grow the fanbase this year. They could of been one of the only sports playing and now I doubt the players will be playing at all and next year will be a lockout. This will hurt baseball long term without question.

The season is over. More than 40 million people have lost their jobs in the last few weeks and every one of them would love to take the offer that the players union turned down to play a child's game Neither side is thinking about those who truly pay for the game - the fans and we are tired of their greed. The average fan cannot afford to take their family to more than a few games thanks to the owner's and player's demands. Sadly other sports are just as bad and college games are not better. Don't believe me - try to buy a decent ticket to an Alabama, Ohio State, or Nebraska home football game. How about a Duke or North Carolina basketball game! Even college Hockey is expensive - try pricing a ticket to watch North Dakota and Wisconsin play. Yup, we are done with the immature attitude on both sides. In the future, I can take my family on a seven-day cruise to Alaska for what it would cost us to attend seven games in good seats at Yankee Stadium or Fenway Park.
