If college players can actually make money in college, I get the feeling that we'll see a lot more players stay for 4 or 5 years so they can get their degrees and make a run for the natty. If this works out, good players won't HAVE to go to the NFL as soon as possible just to support their families.

@@slimischillin7753 for a few reasons. First of all it will incentivize graduation. Also it would help to prevent financial inequality between players. Some more talented players would naturally earn more money. However, that could be a source of division for other teammates that don't earn as much. Also, most college age students lack discipline when it comes to money. So this could help them learn to be more financially responsible. Not to mention most college athletes won't go pro, so having some money waiting for them after graduation could prove to be a great help as they start their life after college.

This likeness rule is going to kill colleges that aren't in large markets or have rich connections. Go to Oregon and have Nike use your likeness for $200,000 or go to Oregon State where you get to promote a burger joint for $200. You could sit on the bench and get paid more than a starter at another school. You think Alabama doesn't have a bankroll of large "sponsors" ready to outbid for players? I'll pay you $100,000 endorsement for my car lot as a talented freshman for two years, just to make sure you don't go to Auburn. Player wants more $$$ sophomore year, threatens to leave. $300,000? You got it. Then the fan anger builds as 19 and 20 year old kids make more than 40 year old blue collar worker going to the game.

And i have a alumni paying my tuition bc he wants to see me go to his school. And im still pocketing 40k a year for two years bc I have a youtub channel i also stream on twitch. College athletes think they're worth so much more than they actually are. Just quit if you don't like the arrangement of it and go train for the pros or the Olympics. Nobody is forcing anyone to play college sports.
Athlete receives: tuition, housing, food, stipend check, facilities, tutoring, coaching, platform to showcase skills, gear, top of the food chain on campus both socially and administratively, brand building, baked in fanbase
School receives: talent, time, chance to win, press
Now yes, they don't get time to pursue the education they want, and they shouldn't have to put so much time into their sport. And they can't get jobs because of the time constraints too, so it is a little ridiculous at some of the rules (like you can't buy a kid dinner? Cmon) but I'm sick of this "wahhh we can't get paid wahhh they make millions off us" like yeah if you take the collective of 10,000 players in FBS there is some money being exchanged. But at 25K per full scholly that's $250 mil just to players. For every prime time STAR there's 40-50 guys who don't move the revenue needle at all.
