Personally I think this is their best video. Each scene goes with the lyrics of the song and the video is full of symbolism, and filled with references to greek mythology. Its amazing.

You could enjoy the song while thinking the song was poorly produced and vice versa. I think the song has a lot of issues but I still find myself enjoying it to an extent.
We all know the beef is with Blackpink and not the song. Some people can't accept they're successful and this comeback is smashing records both internationally and in Korea.

I think why (and I felt this way too at first) people don't like it because it kinda sounds the same familiar to ddu du ddu du and kill this love in terms of it's structure of the song. I mean we have waited like 800 years for this and it kinda sound like the same formula as their previous songs. Update the song has grown on me but at first it didn't.
i don't get it why people are saying it sounds same. some beats can be same as teddy produced all off their song but ktl D4 and how you like that is totally different.
@@tarbibintetofazzel9089 Eh, it's definitly more similar to KTL & D4 than it is to AIIYL, PWF, Stay or Whistle. And also the exact same concept. KTL & D4 were extremely similar and I think that's the biggest reason that people aren't that impressed by HYLT. It's not exactly the same, but just similar enough that it's kinda disappointing they chose this kind of concept again.
Doesn't help that they are literally singing dudududu during the breakdown.
That combined with Jennie not rapping again, Jisoo being dead last in the line distribution and the song being so short makes up the disappointment.

Not only does it sound similar, the video is just a rehash of the prior two songs: same colors, direction, staging, lighting, angles, and transitions. YG is basically recycling their previous hits. It's a bit lazy on their part. Also, this is not a Korean song, just like KTL. It's an English song with some Korean thrown in.
I feel the same way. I like the song but i wish they would change something. More lines for jisoo, or let lisa sing not just rap. Or Every song doesn't exactly need a dance break, or have a chorus where they SING not just beats. In HYLT, i wish the chorus is different

People also don't realize that this is just a pre-release not a title track. It's very Blackpink and very B-side(ish) of them..lol..so it's a perfect bop that's just super catchy and chill. i think the reason why people may not like it because it feels like they done this type of song before. personally i liked when i first listened to it, the only part i’m not really messing with is the last chorus/dance break. i feel like they could’ve ended the song differently.

the only thing i’ve heard is people are upset is that it’s too short or like they ended it quickly. i haven’t heard any criticism otherwise tbh. the thing is blackpink is the revolution and we take what we can get because every song/video of theirs is GOLDEN
The things is that, all of their singles follows the same song structure. It's like they're playing it safe or something. So, it makes their singles sound almost identical with one another.

I've not actually seen anyone hate on the song, all I have seen is people upset about certain scenes in the mv.
I like the beat, makes me wanna move and it has that certain brand of concept that (so far) for me Blackpink only has.
All I see with the other reactors is if they like the song, the comment section would start suggesting a much better m/v that they can react on. Or if the reactor does not like it, then they would totally agree.

It's trending breaking all records, making new records killing the charts and received PAK (PERFECT ALL KILL) in charts in Korea and broke 5 Guinness World Records. Haters how you like that? they will keep barking nothing will stop that lol. this is just an appetizer for the main course.
While I think that the fanwars are mostly to blame, there are some things in the mv that some people have a right to be mad about (I'm not sure if you know about the specific part I'm on about). Most people that I have seen aren't hating on BlackPink, but are mad at the set designers. I'm not trying to start anything here, I love BP and love this song, I'm just trying to explain why some people have been complaining about the mv, so hopefully you can understand.
Louise Dunnin yes i aware of the item. It all boils down to who you talk to. The scene was suppose to depict she was at a market and at markets they actually sell them on grounds like that on some instances. some of the people of the culture say its not that big of a deal while a few say it is. the ones that blow it way out of proportion ive found out were from different fandoms and are very consistant at tearing down the group and company by all means necessary. well either way they took car of it right away which is commendable.

I didn’t feel the song at the first listen, especially the chorus. But now, I LOVE it. It’s definitely a bop. They also deliver it well. The song is meant to a be a bit mellow at first then bounce back from the chorus till the end the way they sing it, damn I can feel the transition. The emotion is spot on. The chorus part, I see many people can’t feel it, but that’s perfect actually. It’s meant to tell the haters (or those who hurt them) “how ya like that? That that that?” in such playful manner, like someone teasing/mocking “na na na nanana” (If you know what I mean, it’s hard to express it thru text lol) I also love the symbol and references used in the mv and song, like the greek mythology or Superman reference. I know for those who don’t get it will say it’s weird and like randomly put there, but for me it weirdly fits. I’m all for symbol and hidden meaning! I know there are some people who don’t like this, probably because the song isn’t their cuppa tea or because they don’t really feel the song, but then there are also people who just hate it because it’s BP. Thing is, there are some casual reactors/reviewers who bother making a whole video of how they don’t like this, and while I don’t mind their opinion, the comment section become a haters cesspool. Some people even say that if reviewers/reactors like it, they’re not genuine and just doing it for the view (come on!) But yeah, there are people who genuinely like the song (like me). Like it or not, it’s still a snapping comeback. “look up in the sky, it’s a bird? It’s a plane? No, it’s Blackpink!” :p
You do realize YG does not believe in green screen. They had Jisoo balancing in that hole and Rose was rotating in a contraption for the dark garden scenes. Lisa's Hindu statue was digitally removed because it caused an uproar. The Winter scene with the pumpjack is not cgi. The video is 100% dope.
the point of this song is the same as D4 and KTL songs.
They all serve the same purpose which is to call people's attention.
D4 was to promote the Square Up EP, KTL was to promote the Kill This Love EP and this song is to promote the future album.
People that complain about these songs really dont understand this.
On KTL EP for example, i think all the 4 songs are pretty good, but songs like "Hope Not" could not be a main song for that EP, this is a really good song but not a song that will call the attention of new potential fans.
