REACTION to AKMU - HEY KID, CLOSE YOUR EYES (w/ LEE SUN HEE) & NAKKA (w/ IU) MVs

My interpretation for Hey Kid is about the education system in Korea rather than the actual war. Based on what I know, the education system in SK gives so much pressure to the kids to do well in school/get into good univ with some unrealistic standard. The competition between students, long study time until way way late at night, and the level of difficulties these students need to live through for most of their youth feels like the system thrown them into battlefields where they need to fend for themselves.
When the girl survived and entered the room, the adult just gave her a new uniform, which means her survival only means that she has to enter a new and harder battlefield.
The message to hang in there, is because once they graduated from school, they can get more freedom of choice compared to when they were younger, hopefully.

I haven't had a song on repeat this much in a long time which is super rare
Plus the mv and lyrics are just fantastic

Hey Kid close your eyes's MV is so powerful, especially paired with the song. (Which I've been addicted to) its just SO GOOD- as someone who wishes to pursue filmmaking in the future,I find it just absolutely stunning and wonderfully made. Also the line, "Once your ears stop ringing, There's going to be screaming"- absolute chills. AKMU are somehow always getting better and better! I love Nakka as well!

lee sun hee is a vocal legend in korea who has been a star since the 80s, shes conisdered to be the National Vocalist and in fact when NK and SK held a concert her songs were the most popular amongst all of the artists present. She is a pop culture and music LEGEND in south korea

For me it's quite easy distinguish tgeir voice, maybe because i always hear IU song daily. For Suhyun her voice is pretty clear in my opinion so it's easy for me.

Now I understand it. Why Suhyun's room was upside down. Falling is flying!

Lee sunhee has the best song i’ve ever heard with traditional Korean instrumentals which is “fate” 😭😭😭😭 it’s so good I highly recommend it to you❤️❤️❤️ also she’s one of the most respectable senior in Korea

They just had their first live performance of the song on IU channel for anyone who want to confirm who sings what part haha. Even Chanhyuk said that IU and Suhuyn's voices are too similar.

Thank you for reacting to the reason why I've been hooked to Kpop finally after many years. I've known them in a replay of Kpop star season 2 a year ago and they win it all and look at them now, Successful and respectable artists in Korea (with the label "The Nation's Siblings")
Throughout this 2 songs is a bop for sure and will rock the Charts and also get many awards ❤️

I definitely felt it, I was on the edge of crying when I watch&listen to that song but also too crushed to actually cry. Can’t explain but that piled emotion really convey

i was interpreting “hey kids” as child victims in war torn countries who just have to “close their eyes” as their world falls apart but when suhyun sang about not wearing masks i guess it was about covid’s impact and the number of deaths and getting the school uniform like the world will go back to normal soon if you wait a little longer.

I can't distinguish which one is IU's voice and Suhyun's voice. But now I know😆😆😆. Their voices really similar.

Both these songs sounded like they could be on a Walk the Moon album--I love WTM, so that's no bad thing. Love the retro sounds!

I knew these 2 brothers but never heard of them, now she is doing one of the most beautiful programs ever seen where there is also Onew by Shinee. You Must to see them! I highly recommend you to watch the program because it really calms and cleans the soul but you can also see their performances on youtube both solo and duets, they devastate you and put it back together
