I really like his game. He has the most upside in the draft in my opinion. GREAT landing spot for him. Just hope he can stay healthy. What a real treat it’ll be to watch him on the court.
I think in 2 or 3 seasons he could be really good if stays healthy. Needs to put on atleast 15-20 pounds and improve his handle/post moves.
If this is his benchmark I can't wait to see his ceiling when he's got some more weight and years behind him. I never thought bust but I didn't think he would be doing that after what I watched at gonzaga

College ball and nba are different
You can say that statement about Any nba player . College ball is for Team basketball. Your individual growth is durning practice . Plus they usallly Cater to mostly to their vets onthe team
Colleges are only trying to win in college. They will use him at the minimum required. There’s different needs and skill level here. So his role will change.
It’ll change again when dealing with experienced ballers with muscle mass who won’t let him do what he wants.
Wym fail he went 2nd in the draft and he’s not gonna be shooting that much shots like this when Shai is there
In college you don't just feed the best player, because not only will they leave but the players getting recruited won't come AND teammates will probably transfer, especially when lots of them are not getting paid, that's why lots of stars only average 14-16 points and still get drafted high

He's only in his second year and missed the final 30 games last season. Good reps to get him used to passing to the rookies.
Poku is turning into a bust. Furthermore, this is Giddy second year and didn’t have a SL last year. Lastly, Wembanyama would be nasty on the Thunder⚡️
One thing we can say for sure. If Chet gets enough playing time, he's going to be among the league leaders in blocks. He has great timing.
If I had to guess he'll probably average in the high teens in points, somewhere in the 6-8 rebounds range, and around 3 blocks per game. We all love offense, but defense DOES matter. I think the Thunder will be really happy he didn't go #1 overall.
He's gonna get a few triple doubles in his career as long as he stays fit.
Taco is tall but he's slow and somewhat clumsy. But chet is much more nimble and maverick-ish. Great game.

The timeline went pretty dark for Houston quite quickly. Two really really close title runs, and unfortunately had a freedom supporting owner who dared text against the NBAs daddy.

he looks very raw to me. also high center of gravity, which makes him lose balance on occasion. the most impressive attributes he has is the shooting and the shot blocking. his handle is good for his height, but if you put a smaller guy on his dribble, he will turn it over. he will be highly dependent on officiating. if refs are soft with him, he'll be good. if they let defenders rough him up, he's gonna have problems

I agree, my only negative is that he seemed a little selfish and was denying Giddey the ball when Giddey is by far the better distributor.

To the fans in the Philippines who are disappointed that Kai Sotto wasn't invited to the Combine, wasn't drafted, wasn't offered a spot in the Summer League, *look at the stats of Chet Holmgren here and HOW confident, fearless and aggressive he played.* For Kai Sotto to impress American scouts and coaches, he should *produce stats like that in the Australian NBL or the NBA G-League or in Spain or in Italy and be as confident and as aggressive as Chet was here.* He wants to make it to the NBA, the *most elite pro basketball league IN THE WORLD*, so he has to show, TO PROVE, that he can DOMINATE ANY LEAGUE outside the NBA. Otherwise, why would NBA teams hire you if you are only an AVERAGE player or a ROLE PLAYER outside the NBA???* No reason, no justification. That's why passing up on the chance to play for a Division-1 college was a big mistake, and a huge missed opportunity for Kai Sotto. *Imagine his status now if he grabbed that opportunity, then averaged something like 15 points, 9 rebs, and 1.5 blks then led his school to the NCAA Tournament, and perhaps even scored 10 points or so vs Chet head-to-head? He most likely would have been drafted.* But he chose not to. So that is one of the major reasonS why he wasn't drafted and is not even included in any Summer League roster. To those who are not aware, more than half of the players in the NBA summer league are ex-NBA players trying to make it back to the NBA, undrafted rookie free agents (so legit Division-1 players), unsigned draftess in the past mixed in with rookies, 2-way contract players, and G-League players. So the Summer League is a good PROVING GROUND for unrecognized players who want to get noticed by American scouts and coaches. To those who look down on the Summer League, who are you to do that? Sons of NBA legends Shaquille O'Neal and Scottie Pippen are happy just to get the opportunity to show what they can do through the Summer League.
