rocketstar And the robots aren’t even bad. They’re actually half decent. But if they just spent that time that it took to make those into I don’t know....... making traits so all my sims aren’t carbon copies of each other I bet this pack would have went over a lot better.

When they asked about laundry and she said “I can’t answer that right now.” I was completely thrown off because that was one of my questions. I just feel the girl with the glasses didn’t know much about the game and she was rude and sarcastic to her colleagues. Girl your Job is to play sims and create game packs show a bit more enthusiasm. 🙄🙄
Classes being rabbit holes is just ridiculous when we know there's a whole university mod out there that has active classes that you can attend. The sims fans have so much more to offer than EA does and it's just sad.

i feel there should be some new traits like the “goody-two shoes/straight A student” for kids who want very good grades and another trait for the opposite who doesn’t really care about getting good grades
Teagan wouldn’t the ambitious trait be the right trait for those goody-two shoes students? As for the opposite, there could have been a new trait but I’m not sure except that either lazy or party animal would have been the right trait. Maybe if the game developed the existing traits with Discover University , it would work

Here’s a list of things in this pack. •Rabbit Hole Graduation •Rabbit Hole Classes • Cafeteria which is a loading screen •Can’t customize your dorm •no kids or pets on campus •5 day terms •The food stalls are literally just the same from Cats and Dogs City Living And Seasons •The dorms are just apartments from city living. •bikes are basically jet skis from island living •Debate podiums are just the same as the politic podiums from city living. The list basically goes on and on. You can’t have any cooking equipment in dorms.
You can customize your dorms. And What did you expect the dorms to be? Of course they’re going to be like apartments and city living. And how are bikes anything like the jet skis and island living? Kids and pets can be on campus as well they just have to be in housing not dorms which makes sense. Classes have always been rabbit holes in the Sims.

Honestly, I hate that sims that aren’t enrolled are allowed on campus, knowing how poorly coded this game can be for population, I don’t want to see Mortimer Goth roaming around my college town when I’m trying to pretend my kid has gone STATES away for college. I also hate how dead these campuses look. The team really needs to do a better job making a campus look active with walkers, joggers and just life. In real life a college campus would be bustling.
Yeah soo sad and true,but it was the same with city living,when the trailer was published I was realllyyy hyped but as soon as it was available and I start playing it,the whole urban feeling in me died, because this city was as empty as the village I come from with barely 200 habitants.... I think it's a big issue,that there always too few people walking around bc it really kills the feeling and yeah I know that feeling when Sims who actually shouldn't be at that place suddenly appear and you're like: wait?! Wtf is he doing here. In the realm of Magic pack,when my Sims was in the magical world, suddenly Morgan and I think Mortimer also showed up and I was like : wow.... Same. They should've populated the university towns with a BUNCH of new sims that are also enrolled in university. Like the sims 3. I'm sick of seeing the same sims everywhere all the time. Vampire sims shouldn't be outside the vampire world, Sulani sims shouldn't be outside the island, ect. its disorienting.
I e gotten so sick of the same ole people that when I start a new sim, I remove and repopulate the lots with gallery sims I’ve randomly chosen. U can even replace the townie sims that aren’t available in a playable lot. Just do it in manage households and they will be the ones that are listed....non playable? Not sure lol. I know they are there though! Replace them with anything u want!
Mcc mod has a more sims in zone setting that could help with this but we shouldn’t have to rely on mods. The sims 4 is literally unplayable for me without mods
whenever the girl on our left had some interesting questions to cover or something to say, the one on the right came out with something useless and time consuming so she can take thw spot light. she always does it on streams. she should chill. it's just too much. i wouldn't be able to stay as calm as them
I always hate when she's on the streams, she's too controlling. She needs to learn how to work with the other gurus if they want to keep letting her on the streams, as it's frustrating to watch. I feel bad for the other gurus who don't get the chance to properly show off what they want to show.

omg exactly. i dont even care about classes being rabbit holes, cause they would be soooo boring if not. on the other hand im mad that there is no a playable graduation event or a graduation party. I mean we don't have open worlds so one may think that they will focus more on these type of events and put more effort in the general gameplay. but no :\

Weren't a lot of those things also rabbit holes in the sims 3? The difference is you get to drive to the location and some of the active classes weren't rabbit holes but using an interactive object in a specific location with other students.

Chayenne Oosterveld Sims 3 was open world and the packs were flushed out with more content.. Rabbit holes were a trade off. Ts4 has no reason to have any rabbit holes because it has no open world at all.
The lady on the right reminded me of that one classmate with no speech manners. Whenever you have something to say, the classmate would say "yeeeaah... " make a face and start saying something else. Whenever the left lady talks, the right lady says "what?' "Huh?" "Sorry, I got distracted". Just pay attention... So awkward. LOL

Its so annoying that they're constantly taking away things for "realism" "You can't control your cat or dogs in real life" "I cant paint the walls at my dorm that be insane" Good thing this is a god damn game with mermaids and vampires and I should be able to do whatever I want like past iterations, but EA loves shorting us. They always try to justify less content with "playable for everyone, less lags" and "realism" but the game lags ANYWAY if you have mods and CC and the realism is irrelevant because its a GAME and Vlad is constantly breaking into my house. I haven't finished the stream, but using a cheat to get my sim their own room that matches their personality was a little annoying lol

I just want to say that as someone who has been playing the sims since the beginning, I'm done buying the crap you're trying to peddle. I remember being able to play the sims 1, 2, and 3 for hours and never getting bored. I feel like the sims 4 is all about getting nice screenshots at this point. I've been getting more and more disappointed as time goes on. I just don't see how anyone working at EA can be proud of what they make anymore, and I feel it emanating from my screen in this stream. I'll be buying paralives when it comes out, and I have a feeling I won't need to return.
I was just thinking, before I came across your post, that the Sims franchise better get their crap together before Paralives is released. They are going to lose a lot of their players, me included. And I've been playing the Sims since Sims 1 was released back in the day.
grandMarais here is your answer, EA aren’t proud of anything, remember mass effect andromeda, remember the massive loot box problem with battlefront 2, they only want money so they’re gonna give out cheap games or make it take about 20 hours to get a character unless you pay for it

Honestly, they could have added actual traits that are a lot more viable overall and still related to this pack: (ie: Slow Learner, Savant, Socially Awkward, Naturally Gifted, etc.)

They were rabbit holes in the sims 3 as well, in case people forgot. Some classes were active but mostly using objects in a location with other people. It's not that much of a difference.
Unique Nicole I’m just curious but why would you want classes to be active instead of rabbit holes? Based on what I’ve seen by playing and watching the Sims games, the only actions you would only be doing in class is raising your hand, taking notes, talking/playing with a friend while class is in session, and answering a question. Maybe active classes would be nice to play in if say the game would be more active towards the simmer( for example: say your sim is in class and your teacher asks the class a question and you can decide whether to answer or not but you can also answer the question with what you have learned base on what you studied). I just don’t see the point of staying with your sim during class other than those actions. I can see why they use rabbit holes for classes since you barely do anything in class.

Exactly! So annoying. Sure, it might save time, but it doesn't fill up the hunger bar fully, and leaves an uncomfortable moodlet for like 3 hours. If I didn't have the UI extension mod to easily delete moodlets, I'd never use microwaves.
FOR REAL I'm so confused. Is there a mod that takes that buff out of the game? It's a ridiculous feature considering the microwave in my dorm works just fine.

@@masquerademage yes! The UI extension mod is incredible. When you have this mod installed, you can right click any moodlet to make it disappear. You can also click anywhere on a need bar to fill/empty the need to that point. You can also change game time, and change skill level. I can't play without this mod anymore.
It was like that in the Sims 3 where your sim just went into the town hall, you heard the process but you didn't really see it until they came out and had their highschool diploma and I don't remember there being a university graduation cuz they just went home
11 11 realm of magic was good because for it was worth the price I can confidently say that with the exeption of seasons none of the expasions are worth the £37 or $40 price point and although I like season I can damn well see why some people think it’s a cash grab because I like it as it reminds me of sims 3
Again, depending on whether you take 4 classes per term, 1 class per term, or you mix it up. The Entire Uni experience for a single degree from enrollment to graduation could take anywhere from 3 to 12 sim weeks.
As someone who has played Sims since I was 11yrs old and even brought one of the games to a show and tell.. I don’t recognize this game or company anymore. The marketing, gameplay, etc is just absurd.

@@Randomperson-fr1qg yeah... no creativity when it comes to the buildings. Just bc simmers CAN build whatever they want, doesn't mean they should keep the weak sauce builds they're doing. When I was a kid, one of my favorite parts of playing was seeing cool builds that were already in the game. That hasn't really carried into Sims 4 lately.....
@@MizzMizea I am not good at building and would love to actually have a nice, pre-made house that I don't have to spend 20 minutes looking for. The way the gallery is now makes it a lot easier to download builds than it was in Sims 3, but it's still annoying to have to dig for anything decent.

Can't believe a multimillion studio thinks this is ok as an enticement for their new pack. So disrespectful for people who have spent SO MUCH MONEY on this game in the last 5 years. First of all the person who was controlling the stream looked like she hasn't played Sims before and was extremely boring and chaotic. Second of all SO MANY RABBIT HOLES! You'd think since we can't have open world in Sims 4 they'd focus on specific location events and "active activities". Also what about "discovering" yourself when there's no new traits and only one aspiration added for what's suppose to be one of the main packs for the game... I'm so disappointed :(( I truly love this game but they haven't released anything good since Seasons!!
‘This live stream was so unprofessional’ have you ever watched one of these live-streams? It’s always like this. The gurus look like they never play the game and lots of the time’s they admit this. This is why the game isn’t improving. The people making it are unfamiliar with the product when it specifically comes to gameplay. It’s embarrassing and maybe if they hired people who actually played the game and have first hand experience of what needs to be improved we’ll actually start seeing well rounder packs. Otherwise - they only care about aesthetics. I mean how can you make university life look boring ! Oh let’s clean the statue, look how shit the dorms look, there’s not even a kitchen????
i uninstalled ts4 and all its expansion packs last week and just reinstalled ts3 again. i’m having so much fun! ts4 i’d play for two hours maximum and then i’d be bored and not touch it for weeks, but ts3 i’ve played for days in a row now and there’s just so much to do, so much to see, the sims actually have personalities... ts4 has been such a letdown since release and this pack doesn’t look any different... the same rabbit holes and lifeless interactions 🤧

A 40 dollar "expansion" for rabbit holes, an aspiration to actually go to college that should've just been a whim, no new traits even though this is all about "discovering" yourself, and barely anything about the university life besides homework, loans, and socializing. Wheres the pressure of actually trying to balance it all? You cant with the 5 days that you get to "experience" university, you either have to pick being a good student with no social life or skip class and party all the time to make friends. Not to mention the fact that they try to justify not having new traits for our sims because they added two new lot traits, pathetic
@Zachary Khan I think if I remember correctly in the sims 3 you got to choose between like half a term and a full term. Half a term was 1 sim week and a full term was 2 sim weeks. While I agree with you that having to go multiple times gives you plenty of time to experience it. I would prefer to stay longer and thus not have to keep disturbing my university experience as well as get my degree in a shorter time.
Honestly feel like the sims team should hire some of the game changers to do these livestream reveal streams for them. I know these guys aren’t streamers or ‘personalities’ and its not their job to be but.. It’s a little.. clunky and awkward to watch at points

Ellie McMaster you can still buy a key, they are usually much cheaper, even shortly after the release. I bought Island Living right when it came out and payed 28 instead of 40 bucks 😊
Ok first of all: 1.Dorms and Campus The dorms?! Who decorated those? And i basically can only have for households living in a dorm? And why do i have to poorly decorate my room take with drag and drop? This is gonna be so annoying when you just keep accidentally moving objects all the time... And no stoves? Why do you take that option away from us! Make it optional. Now i have to find a mod that makes it possible to have community kitchens. I don't what to eat food from a microwave that makes you nauseous all the time or travel to get some filling food. Loading screen takes like hours. Takes the fun out of the game... Again... Plus the campus looks flat and so pale... 2. Aspirations One new aspiration... Wow No new traits? University life is lively and full of different personalities. How am i supposed to enjoy that if the game lacks so much personality and emotion? Yeah kinda ironiv right? I don't want my sims emotions to get over powered by well decorated rooms?! Yeah your husband died but heyyyy your living room is just lovely. Make emotions stronger! Especially the bad ones and more realistic please.

I took a French class, and the books were way more expensive than the cost of the class itself because the books were imported directly from France.. So thats why the books cost more expensive than the class.
I mean... I have free education, so books are more expensive by default. I really wish modders will work on that pack more and make it more playable, cause Im not buying that trash.

i feel there should be some new traits like the “goody-two shoes/straight A student” for kids who want very good grades and another trait for the opposite who doesn’t really care about getting good grades
Teagan wouldn’t the ambitious trait be the right trait for those goody-two shoes students? As for the opposite, there could have been a new trait but I’m not sure except that either lazy or party animal would have been the right trait. Maybe if the game developed the existing traits with Discover University , it would work

You can’t have any cooking equipment in dorms.
You can customize your dorms. And What did you expect the dorms to be? Of course they’re going to be like apartments and city living. And how are bikes anything like the jet skis and island living? Kids and pets can be on campus as well they just have to be in housing not dorms which makes sense. Classes have always been rabbit holes in the Sims.

Honestly, I hate that sims that aren’t enrolled are allowed on campus, knowing how poorly coded this game can be for population, I don’t want to see Mortimer Goth roaming around my college town when I’m trying to pretend my kid has gone STATES away for college. I also hate how dead these campuses look. The team really needs to do a better job making a campus look active with walkers, joggers and just life. In real life a college campus would be bustling.

Same. They should've populated the university towns with a BUNCH of new sims that are also enrolled in university. Like the sims 3. I'm sick of seeing the same sims everywhere all the time. Vampire sims shouldn't be outside the vampire world, Sulani sims shouldn't be outside the island, ect. its disorienting.
I e gotten so sick of the same ole people that when I start a new sim, I remove and repopulate the lots with gallery sims I’ve randomly chosen. U can even replace the townie sims that aren’t available in a playable lot. Just do it in manage households and they will be the ones that are listed....non playable? Not sure lol. I know they are there though! Replace them with anything u want!

Mcc mod has a more sims in zone setting that could help with this but we shouldn’t have to rely on mods. The sims 4 is literally unplayable for me without mods

Weren't a lot of those things also rabbit holes in the sims 3? The difference is you get to drive to the location and some of the active classes weren't rabbit holes but using an interactive object in a specific location with other students.

Chayenne Oosterveld Sims 3 was open world and the packs were flushed out with more content.. Rabbit holes were a trade off. Ts4 has no reason to have any rabbit holes because it has no open world at all.

They always try to justify less content with "playable for everyone, less lags" and "realism" but the game lags ANYWAY if you have mods and CC and the realism is irrelevant because its a GAME and Vlad is constantly breaking into my house. I haven't finished the stream, but using a cheat to get my sim their own room that matches their personality was a little annoying lol

I just want to say that as someone who has been playing the sims since the beginning, I'm done buying the crap you're trying to peddle. I remember being able to play the sims 1, 2, and 3 for hours and never getting bored. I feel like the sims 4 is all about getting nice screenshots at this point. I've been getting more and more disappointed as time goes on. I just don't see how anyone working at EA can be proud of what they make anymore, and I feel it emanating from my screen in this stream. I'll be buying paralives when it comes out, and I have a feeling I won't need to return.
I was just thinking, before I came across your post, that the Sims franchise better get their crap together before Paralives is released. They are going to lose a lot of their players, me included. And I've been playing the Sims since Sims 1 was released back in the day.

Honestly, they could have added actual traits that are a lot more viable overall and still related to this pack: (ie: Slow Learner, Savant, Socially Awkward, Naturally Gifted, etc.)

They were rabbit holes in the sims 3 as well, in case people forgot. Some classes were active but mostly using objects in a location with other people. It's not that much of a difference.
Unique Nicole I’m just curious but why would you want classes to be active instead of rabbit holes? Based on what I’ve seen by playing and watching the Sims games, the only actions you would only be doing in class is raising your hand, taking notes, talking/playing with a friend while class is in session, and answering a question. Maybe active classes would be nice to play in if say the game would be more active towards the simmer( for example: say your sim is in class and your teacher asks the class a question and you can decide whether to answer or not but you can also answer the question with what you have learned base on what you studied). I just don’t see the point of staying with your sim during class other than those actions. I can see why they use rabbit holes for classes since you barely do anything in class.

The majority of classes in Sims 3 uni were rabbit holes too! They tend to keep certain features to be able to focus on more!

Exactly! So annoying. Sure, it might save time, but it doesn't fill up the hunger bar fully, and leaves an uncomfortable moodlet for like 3 hours. If I didn't have the UI extension mod to easily delete moodlets, I'd never use microwaves.

@@masquerademage yes! The UI extension mod is incredible. When you have this mod installed, you can right click any moodlet to make it disappear. You can also click anywhere on a need bar to fill/empty the need to that point. You can also change game time, and change skill level. I can't play without this mod anymore.

11 11 realm of magic was good because for it was worth the price I can confidently say that with the exeption of seasons none of the expasions are worth the £37 or $40 price point and although I like season I can damn well see why some people think it’s a cash grab because I like it as it reminds me of sims 3

The weirdest thing to me is that every term is only 5 days. I liked TS3 where we could choose the length of term.
Depending on how many classes you take per term though, it could take between 3 and 12 terms to graduate. Those 5 days are M-F of a work week.

Again, depending on whether you take 4 classes per term, 1 class per term, or you mix it up. The Entire Uni experience for a single degree from enrollment to graduation could take anywhere from 3 to 12 sim weeks.

As someone who has played Sims since I was 11yrs old and even brought one of the games to a show and tell.. I don’t recognize this game or company anymore. The marketing, gameplay, etc is just absurd.

@@Randomperson-fr1qg yeah... no creativity when it comes to the buildings. Just bc simmers CAN build whatever they want, doesn't mean they should keep the weak sauce builds they're doing. When I was a kid, one of my favorite parts of playing was seeing cool builds that were already in the game. That hasn't really carried into Sims 4 lately.....
@@MizzMizea I am not good at building and would love to actually have a nice, pre-made house that I don't have to spend 20 minutes looking for. The way the gallery is now makes it a lot easier to download builds than it was in Sims 3, but it's still annoying to have to dig for anything decent.
@@QueenRedRosemary I know what you mean. It is also a pain to find something decent that only uses the packs you have. Even when you select to search for packs you have it brings up builds with those packs and other packs too.

EA need another lesson, we need to speak out loud and be messy with EA. Look what happen with the star wars franchise, they got Fallen Order which is gonna be the game of the year, because they actually listen to complains, because people have complains so much and stop buying their games. Can't believe a multimillion studio thinks this is ok as an enticement for their new pack. So disrespectful for people who have spent SO MUCH MONEY on this game in the last 5 years. First of all the person who was controlling the stream looked like she hasn't played Sims before and was extremely boring and chaotic. Second of all SO MANY RABBIT HOLES! You'd think since we can't have open world in Sims 4 they'd focus on specific location events and "active activities". Also what about "discovering" yourself when there's no new traits and only one aspiration added for what's suppose to be one of the main packs for the game... I'm so disappointed :(( I truly love this game but they haven't released anything good since Seasons!!

‘This live stream was so unprofessional’ have you ever watched one of these live-streams? It’s always like this. The gurus look like they never play the game and lots of the time’s they admit this. This is why the game isn’t improving. The people making it are unfamiliar with the product when it specifically comes to gameplay. It’s embarrassing and maybe if they hired people who actually played the game and have first hand experience of what needs to be improved we’ll actually start seeing well rounder packs. Otherwise - they only care about aesthetics. I mean how can you make university life look boring ! Oh let’s clean the statue, look how shit the dorms look, there’s not even a kitchen????
i uninstalled ts4 and all its expansion packs last week and just reinstalled ts3 again. i’m having so much fun! ts4 i’d play for two hours maximum and then i’d be bored and not touch it for weeks, but ts3 i’ve played for days in a row now and there’s just so much to do, so much to see, the sims actually have personalities... ts4 has been such a letdown since release and this pack doesn’t look any different... the same rabbit holes and lifeless interactions 🤧
Maria Karlsson Haha yeah, I always loved playing TS3’s ways of things over TS4’s - I think I even liked TS1’s rollercoasters and volleyball net and of course TS2’s cutscenes and memories

A 40 dollar "expansion" for rabbit holes, an aspiration to actually go to college that should've just been a whim, no new traits even though this is all about "discovering" yourself, and barely anything about the university life besides homework, loans, and socializing. Wheres the pressure of actually trying to balance it all? You cant with the 5 days that you get to "experience" university, you either have to pick being a good student with no social life or skip class and party all the time to make friends.
Not to mention the fact that they try to justify not having new traits for our sims because they added two new lot traits, pathetic

@Zachary Khan I think if I remember correctly in the sims 3 you got to choose between like half a term and a full term. Half a term was 1 sim week and a full term was 2 sim weeks. While I agree with you that having to go multiple times gives you plenty of time to experience it. I would prefer to stay longer and thus not have to keep disturbing my university experience as well as get my degree in a shorter time.
Zachary Khan you definitely had a choice of doing either one week at once or 2 weeks, I always chose 2 weeks cause one was never enough

Honestly feel like the sims team should hire some of the game changers to do these livestream reveal streams for them. I know these guys aren’t streamers or ‘personalities’ and its not their job to be but.. It’s a little.. clunky and awkward to watch at points

Ok first of all:
1.Dorms and Campus
The dorms?! Who decorated those? And i basically can only have for households living in a dorm? And why do i have to poorly decorate my room take with drag and drop? This is gonna be so annoying when you just keep accidentally moving objects all the time... And no stoves? Why do you take that option away from us! Make it optional. Now i have to find a mod that makes it possible to have community kitchens. I don't what to eat food from a microwave that makes you nauseous all the time or travel to get some filling food. Loading screen takes like hours. Takes the fun out of the game... Again...
Plus the campus looks flat and so pale...
2. Aspirations
One new aspiration... Wow
No new traits? University life is lively and full of different personalities. How am i supposed to enjoy that if the game lacks so much personality and emotion? Yeah kinda ironiv right? I don't want my sims emotions to get over powered by well decorated rooms?! Yeah your husband died but heyyyy your living room is just lovely. Make emotions stronger! Especially the bad ones and more realistic please.
Feeling very sorry for those who pre-ordered... Honestly this made me so sad, EA are destroying my childhood bit by bit. This is the end, I'm not waisting any money on this crap!

I took a French class, and the books were way more expensive than the cost of the class itself because the books were imported directly from France..
So thats why the books cost more expensive than the class.

After watching 5 minutes of this I feel like i've already played it.
This is the most anticipated pack for the sims 4 in a long while and ive seen the least amount of hype for it, this is so sad...
13:35 “That’s old news to us.” Ok great but it’s not old news to the customers who are excited and want to know more about the pack. I feel like sometimes it’s all about me me me what do I like in the pack what kind of play style and look I came up with this new quirky idea for the sims. And it’s like that’s great but the sims isn’t time to treat it like it’s a passion project. It’s a product that is meant to be a sandbox game that is played by many different people with different styles etc. It shouldn’t be about what quirky new thing that you did for a laugh. I feel like in a sandbox game and such a big franchise as the sims I shouldn’t be able to open up the game and see the personality of the game developers as the prominent feature of the game.

Maxis hasn't really been apart of the Sims since TS2 sure they helped with the third one but they didn't really develop it

Yeah, sims 4 is the last sims game i'm playing. The last 5 years have been filled with nothing but disappointment and recycled objects and animations. We're all fools if we continue to support this franchise when sims 5 comes out.
