This pack would have had so much potential. The Climbing Wall is awesome, srsly - but what about roller skates for kids maybe, a ping pong table, a tennis court? Even a jumping rope addition would have been great. I'm a little disappointed, to be honest :/

This is true, it definitely would have soothed the backlash. But I recently got this game and it actually turned out to be an installment I don't regret!
The ear buds are one of the most subtle game changing aspects for me; I absolutely fell in love with walking around a campsite with light, classical music playing in my ears. Or just going fishing or jogging around the neighborhood. It's just very peaceful.
But I do admit, considering the only thing I truly like about the pack are the ear buds, I wonder if $10 was even worth it... But hey, they have SIMS 2 MUSIC WITH IT AND THAT REALLY MADE EVERYTHING FOR ME! :'D

What did you expect? The sims 4 is all about gimmicks. The cup-cake machine, rocket ship, etc... EA thinks we have the brain capacity of 10 year old children. I miss when the sims games were filled with gameplay rich content. Hard to imagine the sims use to be a game adults use to play. Go back and watch a sims 2 EP walkthrough and be astonished at how much the franchise has regressed since the golden era of sims 2.

True. I would like something a bit more compact for kids. Not the huge jungle gyms. I would also like it if pregnant sims could actually do more than just be pregnant. Doctors recommend activity and fitness during pregnancy, but in the Sims they can't even go jogging.

The Sims 4 - Music Stuff
New instruments such as a saxophone, maybe a cello, a drum set, and maybe a few others. Concerts are added where you can go with multiple other sims to watch a live performance. A new social event where people come to watch you perform.
Im very happy that we have now five different versions of the same punching bag. We really needed another one instead of something new.

Spa day already had the fitness category covered with awesome fitness attire and furniture very similar to what's on offer here. This pack is basically a clone of Spa day+ climbing wall. In other words, almost useless.
They should have added rollerblading, bike riding, jump ropes and SO MANY other things....

after pets comes out later this year, they need to focus on seasons/vacation expansion pack. this pack can include so much. seasons is straight forward with summer, spring, fall, and summer. outerwear would now be included and cas would include many more outfits especially bathing suits and outerwear (duh lol) and NEW TRAITS BC WE DONT HAVE ALOT!! The vacation part would be great bc they can create one or two new vacation spots ( probably opposites ) and they can have more activities for example if it's a beach than you can snorkel or go searching for shells and animals. and if it's a mountain retreat then you can ski or snowboard and drink hot coco. and they would have hotels and junk. i mean if the mod creators can do it they can too. and after that we definitely need university or college life or something!! then id be satisfied :) no hate just saying ...

The gamepack Spa Day had the fitness category all covered with (besides all the new gameplay) awesome fitness attire, and furniture that looks very similar to what's on offer here. They wasted time and money to make a watered down spaday basically when they could have explored new areas.

daveings If you went a year without stuff packs in between expansions you'd complain about that too. Stop bitching. They're doing it as fast as they can. They have people working on expansions while others work on stuff packs. They are trying to keep you occupied so you don't get bored and so they don't get bitched at. Be patient.

Climbing walls seem nice and we have been lacking in active things, but this is...meh. If I ever get this it would most likely be for the furniture, CAS stuff and the wall. I'm still waiting for playground equipment. Actual playground equipment. At the very least some swings.

I'm all for fitness related things, but at the same time I feel like this could have been.. more. Like an entire sports expansion or game pack. Could have added so different sports related things like soccer or cheerleading, ballet, tennis, golf etc. or something you know? The stuff it comes with looks nice but the idea could have incorporated more thought to expand upon the game in a better way that just one gameplay item..

I am disappointed with this pack. It could have been really cool, but new gameplay was not really included. It was like EA was thinking"hey we can just recolor/redesign the look of things we already have in the game and no one will notice".

Before you say anything please look at the list below read my thoughts on the new items
1 Headphones aka stereo equipment did the same thing
2 New designs/recolors of treadmills and weightlifting machines with base game and spa day
3 A new way to relax in the tub Came with Spa day
4 A new Work out channel Uses the same animation as dancing to the stereo
I really have come to expect EA to offer more NEW Gameplay in Packs regardless if this is a stuff pack and not a game pack. Used to in the older EA stuff packs like back yard stuff, kids stuff pack had a few new gameplay objects. However The bowling stuff pack just had bowling and now the Fitness stuff just has the Climbing wall. Please EA add at least 3 new Gameplay objects with each stuff pack.
What the Fitness Stuff pack Could have included
Climbing wall
Free Weights
cycling both inside on a stationary bike with Cycling classes or outside on a track
Lanes for pool races / new diving boards with new animations
Track for racing and hurdles
Tug of war
High jumping
Long jumping
Wrestling with and without mud
gymnastics Trampoline, balance beam, vault, pommel horse, steal rings, parallel bars etc
Tennis or Soccer or Baseball
Ice skating or skating
Ballet or any professional dance and the ability to run a dance studio
Juicer to make Kale drinks etc and New healthy recipes to fix for your family
New mixer or food processor and new recipes for your family
Skateboarding
Archery
Golf
Cricket
Lacrosse
Rugby or American Football (just called football in Tx)
Fencing
maybe even something adventurous like
Zip lining would be cool
The reason I am so disappointed is this pack could have been really cool, but due to lack of gameplay improvement it is just lack luster.
I have never complained before, but I feel as though I must now that 2 stuff packs have come out in a row with very little new gameplay objects. Please EA have more gameplay in your Stuff packs.

I will admit when I saw the symbol for the pack months ago I did have my hopes up really high since I love fitness stuff. I thought it would have free weights, maybe rock climbing wall, and a juicer.
However, I do think that re-purposed gameplay is not the same as New gameplay. Let me explain what I mean by re-purposed gameplay. If something could be done with another object in the game it is re-purposed gameplay. If you look at the previous list above 1-4 you can tell that this is re-purposed gameplay not New gameplay. New gameplay to me is new animations along with new objects that add new interactions and new content to the game.
The rock Climbing wall is New gameplay and is AWESOME
Where as these are re-purposed gameplay

I like your ideas. I think it might be a bit too much for a stuff pack, though. Those tend to have just one or two big features. That would be an awesome sports game pack or something. It would be nice to have more than just basketball and bowling.

Bruh picking a sims favorite food or color did absolutely nothing for gameplay, it was just for immersion. And simmers asked for pools, got pools, asked for toddlers, got toddlers, asked for pets, got pets, asked for seasons, got seasons, asked for more occult sims, are getting mermaids. Just be patient damn.
Okay, this "fitness" stuff pack is so unnecessary. I know what someone is going to say, "then don't buy it!" I won't be spending any money on a rock climbing wall that I'll never use, but that doesn't mean I can't critique a game I love so much. We NEED expansion packs to add real depth to Sims 4! My opinion would be to stop making stuff packs all together and split the team up in the game/expansion pack departments. So, it might take longer for a pack to come out, but that pack will add a lot to a franchise I love.

I do like the Sims 4 family game pack that just came out, but this stuff back to me is a bit disappointing. We already have lots of gym equipment, so when they announced this stuff pack, I was hoping for something more exciting. I know it's just a stuff pack but this is just crazy. All we really get is a rock climbing object, like come EA, you could have at least added some other gym equipment that we've never had in the Sims 4 yet, like being able to lift weights, exercise bikes and balls, as well as dumbbells, exercise classes, jump ropes, and trampolines. Like WTF?! I do like the new TV station though.

While I agree that we should be able to express our own thoughts on the game, be it negative or positive, you've got to admit it gets annoying to scroll through the comments and see every single one say "Okay but I wanted the ____ pack." Like, yeah, some of the stuff they release may not be really important AT ALL, but you have to have patience? They're obviously going to come out with Pets or University eventually, it's a Sims tradition. So just...chill.
basically everyone has a right to there own opinion, tbh I don't complain that much considering I'm going to still get it for new clothes/hairstyles because ts4 modding community will most likely make really good stuff from them.
The one thing I really want is for them to go in depth with the Supernatural expansion like they did with the Vampires pack. Even if they just make packs with different supernatural states I'll buy them lol. I don't care much for packs that add realism because I don't play the sims for realism.

ChimpManZ1264 To be fair, I think they meant that The Sims 4 stuff packs are just replacements for The Sims 3 Store content. They're small and include one or two premium content items. It's a bit better, in my opinion, given some store sets were $17 for this amount of content.
By the way...do you guys seriously think that they will release Seasons or University or Pets really soon? Lol. This is what people want really bad and obviously they will release them after they will release the packs that we don't want that much. That way, they will make more money, duh.

Just shut up. Please. It takes a REALLY long time to do stuff like this. This is just releasing stuff along the way to keep bringing new aspects into the game. Do you want them to not update the game EVER for like 5 months for one expansion? Be grateful of what you're getting. At least it's something. They know we want those expansions, and they're obviously working on it. It just takes a while so they release small stuff along the way.
Peaches To be honest, I could care less whether they didn't update with Stuff Packs at all. I don't buy anything but the expansion packs, but I've been a bit wary of buying City Living.

Elly LC Peardabear Films Stuff packs are different from expansion packs. They make one or two expansion packs in a year (i ve been playing sims for 12 years and it has always been that way) and many stuff pack for people to have new stuff to do during that time. We want stuff packs, we just want them to be better than this boring one.

I really like the look of the new build mode items. Very earthy tones, wood (probably) materials and the yellows and greens. Although it does look very similar to what else we already have from the other packs, it's definitely something that I would like having in a sim home.

You don't know how much money EA gives Maxis. Maxis doesn't have as much money as EA. Maxis; despite being owned by EA are their own studio with their own budget. EA as the parent company gives them the budget they have to work with. This means the higher ups at Maxis have to prove to EA that The Sims franchise is worth putting money into.
EA/Maxis have made some mistakes in the past, like rushing The Sims 3 out before it was ready. TBH I feel like they should have made The Sims 4 before Sims 3 and perfect 3.

I hate being negative but when we said we want sport pack we meant like baseball, volleyball, roller skating, hockey... stuff like that and not a climbing wall and fitness machines we already have in the game..

lol I love this be patient excuse. The game came out in 2014. It's almost been 3 years. You know how many expansions came out after 3 years of Sims 3: 6....6 expansions and they still had the store and stuff packs. Also people are allowed to complain if they want. Whether it was a year without stuff packs or if they have them. When did people all of a sudden receive authority to tell someone they can't voice their opinions or criticize something they don't like. Ok, the sims 4 is still a baby game and the sims 3 is 5 years old which is why everyone says they like it more. But guess what when sims 3 first launched do you think they had everything they wanted, no... The only reason ppl are complaining about not having pets and seasons so much is because they don't know how much time it takes. I don't think people know how much time it takes because they probably hadn't had the sims 3 when it first launched, because the sims 3 didn't have everything the fans wanted until sims 3 became older... The sims 4 will still get seasons and lets, but in time just like sims 3...

Not sure why everyone is still surprised by stuff packs they're pretty much replacing the Sims 3 online store, which I pretty much HATED. Some premium items they went to shove into a 20 dollar pack set so some stuff you couldn't even buy individually even if you wanted to. Much like the store you can either decide not to get it or not. Most premium items ranged from 3 to 10 dollars alone for one item.
Thus far, I'm going to get this pack. I like the modern looking furniture and decor it looks great for a more more upbeat modern gym that looks like you need a gym membership for. XD
April May I know. I hated the sims 3 store sometimes I blow $20 on two items. But I am actually excited for stuff pack especially the now sims can listen to music through earbuds and the workout clothes.
I haven't bought any actual stuff packs since the Sims 2? Felt the Sims 3 stuff packs were pretty bland. Diesel stuff and Town Life probably the worse ones out of the bunch.
A lot of single items unfortunately weren't even worth the price even though you had the luxury of buying them separately A public shower is almost 3 dollars via 266 sim points. Industrial oven was about 879 close to $9 alone.

Exactly! I love his reviews because they're honest and sincere. Most other reviews of these stuff packs, sincere or not, are taken over by the over the top hype of the reviewer. And I love how not all of his reviews are negative, his review of Parenthood was very positive.

There is still probably other things. It's just the climbing wall is the feature of the pack. It kind of looks like there is the possibility to die from it, not too sure though, so that's a pretty amazing feature for a stuff pack of all things. Considering it's fitness they probably assumed that we'd all be intelligent enough to figure out that they'd include a new weightlifting machine, treadmill and punching bag. Maybe some other new fitness items too.
I'm hoping there are some extra workout things hiding in the pack, I hope the tv workouts are for all ages since child sims mostly have the monkeybars/playground, swimming, dancing ,basketball and typing as a way to gain motorskill/exercise but even then some of those are inconvenient the monkeybars/playground end up getting sold as soon as the child ages up and those and swimming/basketball takes up space that you might not have. I'm just hoping there's some all ages options in this pack.
I think that people are forgetting that the Sims team is pretty much dealing with a structurally incomplete game. From what I recall, the team had wanted to delay the release of the game because there was still things to do with the game, but EA (since EA and the Sims team are two separate entities) pushed for it to be released anyway.
This is pretty evident if you remember what the game was like when first released. It seemed empty, and it was missing some things which honestly seemed as though should have been there. For example: pools. Another example? Toddlers.
Now, you could say that they've had plenty of time to fix it, but that's not necessarily the case. Some things may require so much coding that they can't be implemented, or because they have to make stuff packs, game packs, and expansion packs, it can't be mended at the moment.
So personally, I'm shocked with how much they've managed to work around with what they have. Sometimes I'm disappointed because the things I had wanted weren't present, but then I remember that remaining disappointed takes the joy away that I get from playing the game.

Rukia Kuchiki You seem to forget that they said they weren't adding things like toddlers and cars, not because ea pushed for a release but because they thought it didn't add much to game play. They only later did toddlers because users pushed for it. As game producers you should aim to please as many clients as possible, not just what is easy to do and many mod creators have volunteered to help speed up the process for things like university and pets and were turned down
Jayare they didn't add toddlers because they wanted to get it right. Because the deadline was enforced, they likely had to scrap the idea, evident by the two year wait. But because it had such a big impact to not have them, they went ahead and worked on them for those two years.
My point stands.
The sims 4 was a buggy mess that looked like a debug build when it was released it is a lot better now here is an example demon baby's were in the game now baby's don't give us nightmares anymore

This is great! Love the new furniture! I've grown to love sims 4! Been playing since sims 1 and while 3 is still in my heart as the best one... so too is sims 4 as the new creation it is!!!

As much as I want a Seasons and Pets expansion to come out, I do appreciate EA putting the effort into making these packs, they're pretty much an alternative for the Sims Store from TS3, so chill guys. Thank you EA
Pixelina I didn't think the stuff packs replaced the store but now I see how it does. people need to chill. apparently people forget how much work a EP takes. it's just I want now so give me now!!! like a toddler and act like it's required to buy every pack. maybe the rating needs to be M for mature players who don't whine.
