Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE Star Wars fan. I mean I actually love Star Wars. But you're telling me they can add in droids, spaceships, and all this other nonsense and after 6 years we still don't have cars, garages, a decent range of skin tones, or any meaningful family gameplay. And they just keep ignoring what everyone is asking for. I mean, what's the point of all those surveys they're constantly pushing when they completely disregard everything we ask for? Losing faith in this game.
Taylor Wildrick I feel like they are only pumping out the surveys to keep people happy by being able to say they did them, even if they don’t necessarily listen.
I like Star Wars too, but I feel that they shouldn't mix. I don't feel like it needs to be in Sims any more than the Halloween costumes. If I wanted to play star wars or live out the star wars stories, I'd just play a star wars game, not the sims

The most sickening part of this is that this isn't a Sims original game. It's a Star Wars game, a completely different franchise. If they wanted to do a space pack why not base it on the Sims universe? We've got Sixam! Expand on that!!

If anyone is wondering why Sims4 sucks in comparison to 2 and 3 here's the reason. Maxis (the original game studio who created the Sims) had their own development within the game, Maxis created the sims franchise, however after sims3, EA bought out Maxis and took all the rights of the Sims so now EA has turned a once beloved franchise into a cash grab and Maxis no longer works on Sims. EA did the same to westwood studios and took command and conquer and destroyed it.
This comment is a mess, EA bought Maxis before even Sims 1 was out, Sims 4 was created by Maxis, year later after Sims 4 was released EA closed Maxis
And because they hired these people, they started to release very expensive games that were cut into the smallest parts just to release millions of expensive DLCs to complete the game in fully, and yet they still earned a lot because of the public itself being so excited (since most of them were/are kids)

@@grease_monkey6078 Is more complex than that, EA helped Maxis to grow and develop under they wing, and great games like The Sims 2 or 3 were made by Maxis after EA replaced almost the entire original crew members. This crappy games are made because:
-EA doesn't care anymore for reaching the audience and tries to benefit from the big community this kind of games have. They know that making games like The Sims 5, 6, 7, FIFA 9000 or Command and Conquer 5 would have enough community support and be easy sales even if they are shitty. The fans always will buy another game or another pack expecting things to change
-This kind of games are almost unique, they got no major competition; there is no games like The Sims and they know it, if you want to play sims-like games you have to buy EA games or play the already made ones. Same happened with the Total War series and many others
The only thing to do in this situation is just not buying the game (tho a lot of the community will buy it anyway), if no one buys their games, they would probably (not) make better games or just kill the series and move on to another of their hundred of cashy games series
I honestly have no hope for the future of The Sims 4, and this pack absolutely confirms it. After 6 years, after 35 packs, and after $710, we are still missing stuff that we want and that we had from previous games. I find it absolutely mind blowing that The Sims 4 has been out longer than The Sims 1, has more packs, and overall costs more, yet The Sims 1 has much more content, and has more fully fleshed out features. That is totally unacceptable. With how much more you pay for The Sims 4, it should be the best game in the series. Heck, it should one of the best games period. But it isn't. And it's not because the team is naive and doesn't know what we want, because we have been asking for features that should've been in the base game, or at least implemented far earlier on for 7 years. 7. Freaking. Years. They know what we want, heck they even just acknowledged they know and have known what we want in their bs letter. They just don't care. They aren't interested in making The Sims better. They'd rather throw a $20 Star Wars advertisement at us than open their eyes, pull up their pants and start delivering on what we want, and fix their broken a** game. I mean, for Christ's sake we've been wanting better skin tones for 6 years, and their response to their complete and utter laziness is that "iT tAkEs YEARS!!! yEArS tO IMpLeMenT suCH comPliCatEd feAturEs suCh AS moRe Skin ToNeS!1!!" That same response applies to the 101 other things we've been asking for over the years, and even things simpler such as freaking bug fixes. What needs to happen for this team to start listening and start performing better? What? Do they need a break? Do people need to be fired? Do they need more backlash? What is it? Seriously. I can easily say that I won't be spending a penny more on The Sims 4, because it's beyond saving. I love this game, I love this series, but I am beyond frustrated and furious with this lazy team. Oh we still don't have the freaking spiral staircase and roller coaster...
If you're gonna do this, just go ahead and make a "watching paint dry" expansion pack. At least we'll have something realistic, right?

Exactly. They don't seem to realise that without the community they have nothing. Investing all the resources that go into making a pack into something nobody had asked for, when there's loads of features people are desperate for, is the best way to alienate the community.
(long post incoming: sorry!) Community surveys are devices used by the Maxis team in order to make it seem like players are choosing what they really want, but players end up with the bare minimum. It's also a great device used to "shut up," "appease" players, and to shift the blame onto players whenever a "voted-on" pack goes poorly. Take Nifty Knitting (whatever it's called) for example: The very first survey was a choice between arts and crafts and whatever else (superheros? happy haunts? I forget). Then, the sims team started dwindling down the arts and crafts category into smaller sub-categories (I think some of the options were canning foods and candle making within arts and crafts but I'm not sure). NO sims player calls them out for thinning out a fleshed out idea. NO ONE! Why can't we have arts n farts (crafts) and Supernatural expansion or game packs instead of paying for everything individually???? Finally, players got the finally product which is the bare bones of knitting. You can't really blame the team because simmers "voted for this." You have to take what is given to you because "you voted for this." You can't really complain because people "voted for this." TS4 fans go on the attack whenever people blame the devs, complain about what is produced in the final vote, and for complaining about TS4 in general. In short, surveys are devices used to think you're getting more even when you are voting for less. It's a psychological game that Maxis is playing with fans and is winning for various reasons. This is why they are able to get away with creating less and still make a profit. I caught this mess during the eco/laundry voting or before then.

Yes. this is what we all really wanted for The Sims 4. Exactly what we all needed. Not cars, not proper gameplay for babies, not customisable world maps, not new traits or life time aspirations that don't vanish within a few days of completion. No! Everyone wanted more space content and more Star Wars.

Honestly, I'm down for it.
Problem is not that it's Start Wars themed, but rather that it is badly made, 0 replayability, close to none interactions, 0 features for regular Sim life (it should be integrated with full game, without it, pack looks more like demo version of different game). It could both please SW fans, and make new ones among Sim fans. In the end it does none of these. Content SCALE is more like free update than game pack.

Once upon a time, when The Sims were a good franchise, players could have farm animals (dairy cows, chickens and horses), cuddle with their little babies on the rocking chair and even put them in a stroller! They could create many stories, see their families developing and growing old. But an evil force named Money made the developers go deaf, stopping them to listen to the players and were constantly chasing after the profits...
This is so sad and true. We all could see The Sims 2 was a labor of love.

The thing that gets me about the sims now is the lack of playability. I have played the sims since the first sims game. I adored the way the sims interacted with their environment i.e. looking out the windows when it rained, actually getting items out of their cabinets when cooking, the way children got off a bus and reacted to their report cards, the relationships between sims, and so much more. I stopped regularly playing the sims 4 a long time ago and have been a builder for about three years. While I love the build/buy options and the usability of the build mode, I really get sad thinking about never being able to actually see my builds in game play and having the whole experience come to life. It's bland, boring, and lazy. Not one pack has added meaningful game play. Parenthood added nothing, even the little windows that pop up asking parents to do their jobs sometimes don't even have two options. The bugs in this game are atrocious so most of the time one pack or multiple are hindering the experience altogether. I feel really sorry for the people who only want to play the game and not build. If the build mode was anything like the game mode, I would have never been a customer of the Sims 4. Unfortunately, the gurus will not listen to us. EA will not allow them to make the sims 4 or sims 5 a retro revival of previous editions. I hate to say it, but I don't think we will ever have those moments back. All that magic of the previous games are gone with capitalism. The amount of time and resources required to make us happy wouldn't bring in enough money for EA. It's too time consuming and that's why we get subpar packs time and time again because it's an easy money maker. I love this community and all those who want the game to improve, but we have to be realistic, money over happiness wins every time. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

We need to show EA that we are not going to spend money on them if they treat us like this, completely ignoring us and pushing the important things like race equality, good game play, REAL babies, etc into the corner. We need to show EA that we are not their money bags for them to milk all they like. If you actually want this pack, go ahead but if you don't don't just buy it for the sake of it.
Alternatively, just vote with your wallet and use the money you save from not buying this garbage to buy other games like Paralives, which would probably be around $20-$40 like most indie games.

Out of boycott and anger this will be the first pack i won't be buying. I feel devasted. How is it possible that PLANET ZOO and PARALIVES (like it seems) make it possible for you to build without any restriction like yours. I seriously have to invest so much time just to build a waterfall and you gon' tell me that you cant make this possible? Secondly I'm wondering why we have to activate cheats just to properly build our houses. Thanks to all the modders out there for actually making this game playable.
We wanted cars, new worlds, more activities, a farm etc. And instead of giving us what we asked for and what you made surveys for or taking care of all the Bugs in the game you gave us a star wars pack. Shame on you.

Seriously, what the hell is going on? Sims 4 could easily become one of the best generations of the franchise for the graphics but this is getting ridiculous. After "realm of magic" I just realized how broken and empty the core game really is and I gave up - that's basically where relies the problem. Not to mention how iconic the gameplay in Sims 1 Makin' Magic was, you should have taken some notes. What happened to grocery stores? Clothing shops? Cars? The whole aspiration system? It used to be a fun game with expasions filled with CONTENT and GAMEPLAY, now we get overpriced fragmented themed packs. Seriously, it is ridiculous how many details that used to make the game great are just missing now. I am very disappointed, come back to reality

Instead of Star Wars you could’ve given us these:
- Sports. Sims can join a sports team (baseball, soccer, basketball, volleyball etc.) as an after school activity or go on to play in a professional team. They can compete in tournaments and maybe make it to the nationals.
- Bands. The music industry is huge so I don’t understand why becoming a singer wasn’t included as an active career in Get Famous. Sims can start a band or go solo. They can get a recording contract, make albums, perform concerts, go on tour etc.
- Expand the villainy career. This way we have reasons for sims to be “evil” or mischievous.
- School life. Give us an option to follow our sims to school, let us make our own “school-life stories” (cliques, cheerleading, first heartbreak, teenage love triangle, prom, graduation etc.)
- Farming! Because agriculture is a big part of life. New careers as a farmer, rancher, or a horticulturalist.
- Hotels and resorts. Sims can own and run their own hotels, inns, resorts etc. Maybe include casinos here too.
- Bring back what Sims 3: Generations offered. Put more after school activities, bring back the memory system, imaginary friend, school trips, midlife crisis, anything that will enhance the gameplay of all life stages, not just young-adults & adults.
- I have to say this, there needs to be more representation of Asia in TS4. Can we please have one or two Asian inspired town/world? Give us a world inspired by Japan, Korea, India, Southeast Asia, Western Asia etc. I’m seeing so many beautiful builds inspired by Asian architecture, now we just need a world where it all fits.
- Fix the skin tones, update babies, bring back cars.

Game packs and expansions take years to make so the survey that happened in march wouldn't have content coming until probably late next year. This game pack probably has been in development for over a year wayyyyy before the survey

So basically you can make flying spaceships but you can't do:
- cars
- more skintones
- bunk beds
- corner sofas
- more pets
- matching cabinet to every counter
- matching loveseat to every sofa
- height change for sims
- farm gamepack
- babies not as objects
More skin tones are on the way and the future cube has hinted heavily to bunkbeds.

In a five-year-old game that is constantly being updated with a very live community, I can’t believe that y’all really made a *Star Wars pack* before you fixed the babies, added more skin tones, added more hair colors, and probably worst of all made a whole pack for Star Wars but you can’t model a bunkbed? The thing is, the trailer, in my opinion, look really cool like the cinematics and the art style. Then I watched a review on this, and it just broke my heart. You can make a SHELL world, but you can't make more skintones, better children, a farm pack or etc. LISTEN TO YOUR COMMUNITY!
