@@agathe_100 The sims 2 had cars and it wasn't an open-world. Sims would use it mainly to leave the house and go to work. It just feels more realistic to me than disappearing. It would be a bit like the use of bikes I guess

I don't have any expectations for ts5, probably will feature DRM or some kind of always online sh*t, and they will find a way to exploit that game more than ts4. I saw the last trailer from paralives, and despite my expectation were kinda low, I was actually impressed, that game looks promising, and it's still in beta or whatever

Here’s a couple things that I’d like to see in the sims 4:
•NPC sims automatically get married, have kids and get in a career
•Babies are more realistic
•Have sims automatically catch feelings for other sims by choosing their preferences
•Parents make rules to teens and if they break them (for example sneak out) parents can find out and give punishments (maybe in the parenthood pack)
•Bullying can happen to kids and teens and acne happens to teens
•Sims remember things like the death of a loved one or their wedding day and etc. The memories can recur to them and can affect their mood
•Big events affect sims more
•Male sims can grow beards when they become an adult and can either shave or let it grow
•Kids and teens can do sports which could give them a head start at an athletic career in the future
•Kids and teens actually learn things when they go to school (having their skills boosted)
•Toddlers can go to preschool
•Sim dating app
•When a sim dies there’s a funeral event
•You can go to school with your sims and build up their popularity status (would make a good game/expansion pack with other details)
•the Get to Work pack has more jobs that you can go to with your sims, is more entertaining and isn’t seen as annoying
•Sims can live on house boats
•Sims can get kidnapped or robbed
•Sims can have multiple jobs
•Romance for sims is deeper and they can’t get married within a day of meeting
•Sims aren’t always happy when they get pregnant, this can go off of the relationship with the father or if they’re married
•When Sims cheat they can confess or the sim that is being cheated with (presumably an NPC) can decide to confess
•Woohoo is risky and can lead to pregnancy even if you don’t select try for baby
•There are further family relationships that the sim is aware of like a cousin or an uncle and etc.
That’s everything I can think of. If I missed anything feel free to add :)
Edit: I know this list isn’t realistic and they’re never gonna put all this stuff in the game. I was kinda just blurting a bunch of random stuff out that we’d have in a perfect world, I’m grateful with what I have in the sims already along with mods so I really don’t expect anything from EA.

Okay, see, I wouldn't be so mad about this if it weren't for the fact that they've spent the last like 3-4 expansion packs on the environment already... like, we only get some many packs per game, can't we at least get some kind of variety? Why aren't we working on older packs like TS3's Into The Future or TS1's Date Night (or whatever it was called, I forgot genuinely). Or, even, some new things that we, you know, want... I'd be willing to pay for a transportation GAMEpack. Dinosaurs? Space? There's literally thousands of ideas and topics, no need to stick with 1 for a whole year lol

Well, to be honest an open world is impossible at this point. The game just isn't built that way. And there's no point to cars without an open world. But otherwise, yeah, what happened to a new occult with every pack?

@@dake5388 Well we had cars in the sims 2. Yes it's not really a necessity, but it was fun. Like, we had a very old car that you could repair and all, I think it was pretty nice. You could take it to travel, like the car goes to the road and disappear and then you have the loading screen. After, it parked by the side of the road at the new lot. You could woohou in the car and gave a ride to your date. I think it's still worth it in TS4. And yes omg I miss my occult sims T.T Edit: I forgot to say that TS2 was a close word like TS4, in case you didn't know.
Not everyone wants to expand the magical realm, we just got mermaids and SpellCasters, common.

I feel like the new Sims games are for a different audience. After years of the Sims 4, there are no “awful” things like strippers, curfews, grave yards and firefighters. The list goes on. Those things made the game have depth and fun. I guess expanding on the Sims 4 utopia is a better idea to them. But I don’t want new politically correct packs without the old things that made the Sims the Sims.
They brought back firefighters and the repo men.

@Achmad Putra it still has a linear narrative like strangerville. 'Save the town from aliens' vs 'clean up the world' it's a similar concept. It affecting other worlds doesn't really affect the replayability. Your still doing the same thing over and over.
@S C just because it effects other worlds doesn't mean you have to go to each one to clean them all up. It might be made so that if you spread your reach far enough you can convince the sims of each area to become more eco friendly and have them help clean up the other worlds as well.
Y'all do yourselves a favor and check out Paralives, the reason EA has been so so mediocre is because they simply do not have competition when it comes to this game genre, now they do.

I find these videos really weird because the sims don’t speak English.
I remember entering the sims 4 for the first time in 2014 and seeing a game that felt unfinished (in comparisonwith the previous base games). I gave it time as we all did to see it getting better and by last year i could see the game really thriving. We had university, tiny living was an interesting stuff pack and we were voting our next stuff pack so happily...
Then this. Again. We get a pack out of nowhere without the possibility of even give a little feedback. I know that the idea of the "top secret development" sounds pretty cool, i know. But it needs to be stopped. I dont want to get an expansion pack and then two weeks later have a simguru giving a condescending, pragmatic and politically correct answer to our demands.
I don't even care if this pack has recycled stuff, reused animations and concepts. I care for THE CONTEXT we are standing in right now.
The only way i see a future in the game i love is by having the team focusing on the classics, the basics and stop following trendy themes and millennial lifestyle.
It feels like the team is pushing an agenda on this and making the game be some kind of good behaviour simulation instead of the sandbox we all want.
The community is what makes the sims the game it is. We made the game for the last 20 years and we can't stand watching it "fall"
Please take this as a feedback and not just as an attack.

The millenials practically showed that they wanted this based off of their votes for Tiny Living among other things via Facebook and whoever pointed out that they weren't polling for the more interesting options for better gameplay were attacked ruthlessly.
In the end it goes to show that they just don't care about making the Sims 4 a better game, the developers are well aware about the audience they're dealing with, why else do they continue to do the same sales pitch for game, stuff and expansion packs? Because they can get away with it despite negative feedback and I'm sure the sales have dropped off considerably.
The audience has shown that all they care about is boring animation through sewing and recycling, with said recycled objects and actions, not explosions or anything showing big innovation. All you can do is mod the game or go back to 2 and 3 because the developers want to drag this out for as long as they can before moving on to something else and it'll probably be the end of the Sims franchise (since they and by extension the audience dragged it through the mud) by the time whatever they intend to do next rolls around.
Post this on the website Dumbass, like there's a chance they're gonna stumble upon this.

She is clearly advocating for more age group specific DLCs because Young Adults have EVERYTHING. Elders can do almost everything they can do, but they don’t have anything unique to just Elders. Why even play for Elders if you can do it all as a younger age group?
@@artheaux666 Just because it's not in the trailer doesn't mean they can't do it. I've done so much with elders in this game, just because they don't have anything unique doesn't mean they are being left behind. They could be treated like babies and just be a life state that sits in a rocking chair and doesn't get up. No elders can have jobs, develop skills, raise children (I play as grandparent/grandchild household all the time) go out and visit restaurants, date... Do everything YAs can do. They don't need to have exclusive things.
I will say, adding in things that are typically done by elders (like retirement homes) would be great... But idk about you there not much difference between my parents, grandparents and great grandparents irl... There isn't anything "elder specific" the elders in my family do. But if there was, and people want it, I'd still want everyone to be able to do it, not just elders.

I feel there isn’t a point in trying to tell EA what they are doing wrong anymore. The sims is changing and becoming different from the games we loved and grew up with. EA has continually shown that they don’t care about what we think or want. EA is greedy and they are NEVER going to change. It’s disappointing because there was much potential, constant advice, and interesting ideas from fans that they looked away from. EA doesn’t strive to create incredible content, they simply make mediocre cash grabs. I’m not going to lie, if it weren’t for mods and cc , the sims would be done for. Thank you sims, for dragging us on for the past years and convincing us it would get better but it never really did. Thank you sims, for letting I believe a majority of us down. This is one of the dumbest trailers I’ve seen 🤣

The whole sims 4 series is boring compared to sims 1, 2 and 3. I still love the sims and hope sims 5 will have the sparkle from earlier series. The community cares about sims and is just sad to see what's happening. That's what you mean by 'toxic' I think.

Cars is only a very small percentage of what causes pollution
Just cause you can't control the sims in cars doesn't mean they don't exist in the game. The sims have cars, how else do they all get to work and school? Either that or public transportation. In debug you can use cars to decorate your lot, so they exist in the game for decoration. However, a lot of pollution and other ecological problems come from other places like animal agriculture, plastic packaging, clothing/fast fashion, etc. Animal agriculture releases more greenhouse gases than all transportation combined (including planes, trains, boats, etc)
With this trailer I am officially convinced that EA needs to realize that most of it Sims 4 player base is mostly adults and not children anymore.

I love realistic gameplay but I get tired of the same message being jammed down my throat over and over again. So again, I'm not trying to sound "Typical". This has to be the worse advertisment for a video game I have ever seen.. Even if I was hyped about eating virtual bugs this trailer would make me change my mind.. I am quite disappointed. Yeah sure it looks interesting for a SECOND, then I remember how boring it is to play because of how dull sims are. This is going to be like allll the other expansion packs, you play it for a few days and it’s boring because you already did everything. We need improved relationships, improved babies, and just better gameplay overall. I don’t care about solar panels and all this stuff. Thanks but no thanks, I’m done supporting this game.

People are being hard on EA bc it’s absolutely garbage. People who have grown up with Sims and are loyal to them know that this game is just sad. You’ll be excited until you realize this is basically all you are getting for the next few years: reused animations, boring gameplay, uncreative ideas, overpriced games. The big reason they are making so much money is because they have loyal players who will still buy their packs even if it’s not up to their expectations. Also the fact that fans have been asking for things for the past 6 years and almost none of them have happened. Sims 4 is simply just a waste of time at this point for me and I stopped supporting them back in 2014. Though if you want to buy it then just buy it, I cannot stop you
...because Electronic Arts is a scummy corporation that gets away with murder and the Sims is one of their most long running and popular series but they treat it and it's longterm fans like disposable trash. The Sims 4 is astronomically expensive even compared to it's predecessors meanwhile it's still missing some of the things that actually made the previous entries engaging...like a working max-time speed option a camera that doesn't constantly clip through walls and Sims who are convincing in their autonomy rather than standing in one place smiling awkwardly at nothing for the majority of a sim day.
They are the old fans of the game. but the game changed.
EA already has another market.
EA is a company and will do what it sells the most, no matter how much old fans complain.
I personally get the best out of every game I play.
Sometimes I play sims 3, sometimes sims 4 ...
obviously for the old fans, everything new will be bad ... they won't like it ...
But EA no longer works for them.
I personally think the solution is simple, if you don't like it, don't buy ... If you don't buy anymore, don't complain, play something else ... Or play sims 3 ... Or learn to program and create your game (for which you probably won't make much money ...).
The world changes.
Music, art, literature ... if you grew up with something and they change it, you won't like it ...
(And for people who want a politically incorrect game, there is the GTA, Second Life ... etc. I personally would not like the sims 3 to become like those games, so I support the "political correctness" of the Sims 3, which I call setting limits. Because limits are always needed or otherwise we would have books, paintings, games, etc. with content without any social ethics).
