@@aydiosmio1315 Yea it was pretty bad they didn’t include game details that all previous games had that is considered to not only be a staple but kind of essential to Sims gameplay. I’m someone who doesn’t complain about Sims 4 as much as others - I loved journey to batuu and other packs many others hated. I play sims 4 very often and have a lot of positive things to say about it.
The sims 4 base game has definitely improved a lot since then and is more playable but when it launched it was extremely limited and kind of really sad. This is worthy of criticism. Even when I got base game in 2017 it was kind of dry. Thankfully they’ve listened to us and are working on improving it, but that’s why we need to be honest about those kind of things.
Criticizing past ill decisions they made does not equal me being a hater for fun. I like giving sims benefit of the doubt where I can.
That being said, it’ll ALWAYS be funny that they had to do a trailer promoting the addition of something that existed in every single sims game since 2000 because they couldn’t be bothered to put it in launch which rightfully made people upset. Same thing with toddlers and pools. Really kind of funny in a pathetic way. But of course we have a much improved base game now and I’ll give them credit for that.

Guys, they aren't adding any new content for ghosts. This is old, and back before ghosts were a thing. The basegame came out really bare bones. Even worse than it is now. The real question is, why the heck is this in all of our recommended sections all of a sudden?! xD
(p.s, sims 3 ghosts were cooler.)

I could go on, but you get my point. HOW is it a surprise that they will introduce content in TS4 that was available in previous games? It's not. People nearly boycotted this game when they found out pools and toddlers weren't going to be in the base. Now, it's been confirmed that we ARE getting pools and a bulk of new career choices in a FREE patch update in the near future. Toddlers is obviously still an up in the air subject, but for all we know it's going to get the same treatment. Investing your time and (unnecessary) frustration into a VIDEO GAME you don't even like is ridiculous. Move on if you don't want to support it :)

It's true. People that aren't happy with the game, will undoubtedly never be happy with it, no matter what EA adds to it. Me? I was excited from the beginning, and only slightly disappointed there were no pools or toddlers. I was more upset there were no ghosts, and I still spent hours upon hours, enjoying the game. I never regretted buying it. And now they've added ghosts, and pools will be coming soon. I am so extremely happy with EA right now. I'm just not happy that I won't have my computer until Sunday. I'm getting a new video card installed. I have to wait until then to try out the new content...bummer :'(

You guys do realise that one of TS4's main purposes was to run better on older machines (because everyone knows that TS3 was such a memory hog)
I do understand that it's really annoying that they got rid of all that stuff, but at least we wont have to pay for it when they release it (hopefully.)

Why is the Sims 4 getting so much hate? Yes they took out some great features that were in the sims 3, but they've added some pretty great stuff too like emotions and the ability to multi-task and a much more advanced build mode. We're still getting some of those lost features, such as ghosts and pools for free in the next few months so let's all just calm down, remember that this is still a very new base game and that sims 3 was also very basic and very limited when it was first released. Let's just be grateful we're still getting Sims after so many years, and enjoy this new game for what it is.

People complaining that aims 4 is a let down and stuff? The things they've added make it soooo much more enjoyable than sims 3, the sims actually act a lot more like humans and multitasking was really needed and the new create a sim is on point, get over it, you lost pools and toddlers, big deal... They'll probably add them in a future update anyway. The only thing I find disappointing about sims 4 is the enclosed world with loading screens every time you go some where different, they should really fix that. Maybe add the create a style option as well cause people always have bitched about that, personally I've never used it though.

***** You gotta update it. Its an updte, so its in the basegame. If its a basegame update, its in the basegame. For example, TS3 added alot of stuff into the basegame for free.

I'm not into the ghosts on Sims 4, but I'm so glad they've added them! I'm super happy to see that they're adding things that players have enjoyed the most, makes me really excited for things to come!
I'm especially happy that you don't have to pay for this addition. Of course, you shouldn't have to pay for something that should have been in-game in the first place and I'm glad to see they realize that!
Give them some credit, guys. They gave us something we wanted without it costing a dime. Gives me hope for future updates.

Looks like they're following more of a Minecraft model for this game, but I also think fewer people would have complained about the lack of content in the base game if they'd announced this as their plan in the first place. Well, a few fewer at least. I personally think this is a smart move that has allowed them to meet their release deadline and acquire some goodwill in the long run with these free updates. Whether or not these will continue throughout the game's life cycle is a bit up in the air. My hope would be that they continue at least until most of what people felt should've been part of the base game to begin with is available. Beyond that I would also like to see them continue to add things here and there-perhaps things that would normally be shoehorned into an expansion-like the Genies in Showtime. This would ultimately allow the expansions to feel a bit more focused overall.

I think it also depends on pressure from EA. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, Maxis/The Sims Team takes their orders from "big business" EA and then they have to deal with the fallout over it. I'm honestly surprised they're able to introduce stuff like this in patches at all, considering how much EA loves to make an extra buck on things like this. I wonder how much convincing it took before EA finally said yes to this, and not forcing Maxis to make this some kind of crazy Halloween DLC/Expansion.
BananVids I'm not saying that it will all be free updates from here on out, of course. I'm comparing it more to an idea that Minecraft kind of started, or at least made popular-that free updates that add substantial content to the game are a viable idea. They keep things fresh and can even attract more people to the game down the line. Expansions will certainly still be a thing and I doubt they'll have updates anywhere near as substantial as what Minecraft does.

I love how people in the comments go all crazy because it's "FREE" and so amazing. ... Dude, it's not a "free DLC" it's more of a patch, a fix, for a game that's lacking so much content it's ridiculous. They were so eager to release their game - an unfinished game - and start making money of it, that they decided to do so even though they had other things that they wanted to add (obviously!).
I've been disappointed in the Sims 4 ever since I heard of its content, and lack of content, and it has definitely not changed my mind yet. I've said it before and I will say it again; I am NOT spending money on this. I've got Sims 3, Sims 2 and Sims 1, why on earth would I need this?

I agree with you! The idea of the game is great, but there is so much wrong with it... So limited. Probably did that in purpose, just so they can make like 30 ep and make more money.
At least Maxis/The Sims Team is putting some new stuff out. They probably only released the game so soon because they were being pressured by EA. Everyone knows EA loves their money, but don't punish the people who actually worked on this game just because of some corporate bureaucratic bullshit. That being said, yeah, The Sims 4 is a little bit lacking. I'll admit that there's a lot of stuff I was hoping for that just wasn't there. However, I still enjoy playing the game. I still enjoy the fact that Sims have more personality than they ever did in previous games. (Let's not forget the "vanilla pudding" Sims of an un-modded, no expansions added Sims 3 game.) I love the emotions (although I feel like dying of embarrassment/laughter/some other crazy thing is a little bit ridiculous, and it happens a little too often in my game), I love the game as a whole, despite what it's "missing." And again, at least Maxis is trying to give us a little more to work with. I wonder how long it took them to convince EA that the free patches were a good idea. I'm surprised EA didn't force them to make it DLC. But, whatever. That's a topic for another day.

Hopefully they add online sometime this year! Perhaps a feature like in Sims City where you could visit your friends city, in the Sims 4 you can visit your friends neighborhood. Obviously with the option to choose Single Player or Multiplayer. :D
