Heh, people are already emailing about this saying "HERE'S YOUR DEPTH, STOP COMPLAINING." More extraneous features does not necessarily equal deep, unique gameplay. It looks like more of the same style of gameplay we already have, with a few aesthetically new paths to get there. I welcome new paths, sure, but I'd rather have new destinations entirely. Not saying this is going to be a bad pack: I haven't played it so I can't speak for its overall merits quite yet, and I like the look and feel of city gameplay. But adding superficial options (like apartment traits, keys, rats) does not guarantee an alleviation of the fundamental shortcomings of the game experience as a whole. :)
Somehow it feels less sandbox-y than apartments in Sims 2. And apartment traits feel like a lousy attempt at compensating for the fact that Sims 4 is no longer a proper world and just a set of isolated rigid instances instead.

There's only one apartment per building, just like in sims 3. Neighbors are just summoned by doors. And that big penthouse thing is basically a lot, but high up Notice in the video you can see only into one floor of a building, the rest of the building's windows are opaque
If you pause at 2:04 when they're furnishing the second floor, you can see loads of new items including another new bed! It's one of those princess looking beds with curtains!
the short pink hair asian chick is so cute i love her i love this pack im in love. it's also different from nightlife but at the same time, it's its own uniqueness like certain apartments triggers certain traits and to me that's an upgrade.
my only wish for the next pack is something more family friendly. up till now, most packs are definitely catered towards young adults. i mean personally i'm one of those people who prefer playing as a young adult and just have fun that's why idrc about toddlers, but there are people out there who enjoy the family aspect of sims more and they need their fix as well so it's all balanced out. i know EA reads feedbacks sometimes so i hope they see mine!! ^___^
Agreed. Personally, I am more of a family oriented player and as much as I love toddlers, I'd be fine with not having them so long as we have some other family things. Family life in the sims 4 is basically shite, imo.
I wonder what, if any, features this EP will add for other ages. You're right, most of the other expansions are catered to young adults. I'd love to see an EP similar to Generations for TS4 that incorporates more of a family aspect. I've noticed that I mainly play TS4 with young adult sims, and that's probably because most of the features are for them.
well they mentioned something about if a family moves in to an apartment near schools, the kids will get better grades. That's pretty good tbh but it's still lacking when compared to options for what young adults can do in this expansion pack. Though I can't judge too quick. not everything is revealed yet so maybe there's more options then. just stay positive about it then you won't be disappointed much ^___^

I have some questions: - Are there actually roommates? - Can you visit an appartment on the same floor where your own appartment is? - How many floors are there (all the floors or just like the sims 3 late night only one floor?) - Can you choose a trait for an appartment or are they just random?
This doesn't answer all your questions, but there will be a loading screen between each 'family' in the apartment. So if you want to visit the other apartments in the building, you can, but it'll need it's own loading.
I just wanna say that wow. I'm so excited with this, as a sims 4 player this is getting me hyped because all we had for the past expansions packs was a little update and now there's so many. you never failed to amaze me this time EA
This is a HUGE step in The Sims 4 era. That's what we need and I can't wait for this EP. I'm sure with more and more expansions this game will become enjoyable as all the previous ones. I can't wait to make apartments builds! :)

You can build the penthouse, but the other ones I think you cannot.
