I can live ithout toddlers. I can live without an open world. I can almost live without furniture customization and University. BUT I NEED PETS AND SEASONS IN MY LIFE! I don't have a lot of my Sims 3 games anymore and the computer was wiped, so now I can't play these awesome expantions

After taking the time to realize it.. the Sims 4 is a great game, but it's not a game for gameplay in my eyes. I miss all the things you could do in Sims 3. It's like the expansion packs had little stuff packs in them themselves. I miss how you could be a teen and throw a house party, or get burnt from the sun when you layed out, or how your sims could get acne, little things keeping the game interesting. Like boarding school, and people able to slow dance with other sims, stuff like prom, the town festivals. there was just so much to do and I'd kill for it to be in the sims 4.

Agreed... The previous games had little "details" in them that made them much more playable and fun. But with most of the content gone, The Sims 4 is just soulless..
That, my friend, is why I still play TS3 as well as TS2. Fuck TS4 honestly.
I play TS4 for looks. I play TS2 and TS3 for better gameplay. But as you said, yes, TS4 is really soulles and lacks so many details.
yeah I miss the festivals ,slow dancing, and prom from the sims 3
sigh. I really feel bad for the sims 4. It gets so much hate while being a wonderful game. Many people who played the sims 3 have riddiculously high expectations for the game. The sims 3 (all dates for NA) was released in 2009. Some of the things that people want for sims 4, seasons or university, for example, didn't come out for another 3/4 years. And on the open world topic, it is a personal opinion, and also can be problematic depending on what add ons you have and your computer itself. But in my personal opinion, I have no problem with how the sims 4 is set up, TS4 was a step back I think, to improve graphics and gameplay before worring about adding a butt ton of special things, that some people might not want to buy because they don't find it interesting, or their computer can't handle them. While I do find it a bit strange that children pop right out of the crib, I honestly can enjoy the game without the strange potty training period that was the toddler age. I enjoy playing the sims 4, and while there are some things I quite like from TS3 I would live to have (Mermaids, vampires, the supernatural of other sorts) I am willing to play the game and have fun without these exact things until (or if they do ever) come out for TH4. This is the internet, and I can't prevent all jerks from being jerks, but I wish that some people wouldn't tell EA off for not making 5 years worth of content on to a game in a month. (Also I quite like the stuff packs, I think they just create new oportunities for building, but I enjoy decorating and buliding in the sims, always have)

Thank you! Geez, it's been six months since the last expansion. The last stuff pack was finally something we wanted, same with the last game pack. But now there going back to dumb stuff nobody wants (except people who want to drop 10 dollars on a water slide, a bird feeder, 10 CAS items, and 10 buy items. I hate being negative, and generally I love the gurus and what they do, but I'm sick of all this stuff and half expansions. I want gameplay! Lots more gameplay! Sims 4 doesn't lack stuff, it lacks gameplay! (I'm sorry if I sound mean, I hate being an annoying hater - I am just quite ticked off at the release of this stuff pack, especially since we got a stuff pack TWO WEEKS AGO)

They most definitely will add pets to Sims 4. Pets has been the most sold package in all the three franchises, so it would be a priceloss for them not to add them.
This was a great stuff pack! It was one of my early birthday presents! I wanted it just for the water slide and lemonade tray alone. To this day, I still use it. It was especially great when I got Seasons and Island Living later on! Backyard Stuff is one of my favorite stuff packs! 😊

Not sure what you mean by 'naturally' when they've given us a bunch of free content before the Patch. Considering how they can build on vehicles more if they added them to the base game, they likely would add vehicles and garages in a Patch since it's the most efficient way of going about it.

EA is becoming abit money hungry tbh. They should have released kids stuff with the future generations expansion pack and like The Sims 2, restaurants should have came with the base game or even been added to Get to Work. Honestly, I miss the things The Sims 2 contained such as the interactions and all the general gameplay.
It's dumb... they want more money, of course😒 But also Perfect Patio Stuff was more of a gift to builders and most things are aesthetic whereas this one is much more gameplay.
1. A stuff pack can only have two gameplay objects.
2. Perfect patio was released a year ago. This pack was made in the last months. It has nothing to do with it.

am i the only one here who can watch some of these pack's trailers? especially this, the vibe im getting is really great summer backyard party stuff we do with my family. The clothing, hairstyles, the stuff you do in a hot day outside in a summer day, and that great music, i swear i know the full simlish lyric of this and can't seem to get bored of it, so in short what I'm trying to say is, this stuff pack and movie hangout stuff is right up in my alley.

idea for stuff pack say next spring or summer: pool party stuff.
overview
the logo for the pack would be a waterslide (like a normal park slide but with water flowing down it) going into a pool as waterslides like that would be the main focus of the pack (like ice cream for cool kitchen, voidcritters for kids stuff, hot tubs for perfect patio, ect.) the ENTIRE pack, and NO chucking in a few backyard items, will be entirely based around pools. the style for the pack would be modern and have that theme through out all of build mode and live mode.

I have alot of ideas here so you might not be able to fit all of them in only a stuff pack, and maybe you could take these ideas, come up,with a few more, and turn it into a game pack! or if you guys ever make a seasons expansion pack, all of these ideas could be put into that. if you ever do make this small idea from a short time fan into a pack, I wouldn't mind you adding or taking out anything, since this IS your game and not mine to make. but if you do use these ideas and make a stuff/ game pack, it would me nice to give me credit or something, idc.

the main gameplay of this pack would be waterslides (because of the logo) and pool parties as a social event. also there would be more social interactions to do in pools, and mayyybe a new way to get the drowning death.

I thought the same thing. I usually roll my eyes at people complaining about sims 4 because honestly, it's more fun to me than sims 3 was at this stage. I mean, we're only 2 eps in... but... this stuff pack is kinda ridiculous simply because it's so similar to content we've already paid for. They need to focus on variety to make simmers feel like they're paying for fresh and new content. Maybe they're just leading up to a seasons ep with their focus on outdoor stuff. That's the only way this would make sense.

We might get those expansions as the last 3, because that's what everyone wants. They're gonna spend money making upcoming content, so they want us to wait until those expansions come out, and they get enough money to create another generation of sims, or the sims 5. 💞

The Sims team find it to complicated to sit their ass down. I'm doing it "Rosa Parks" style right now by sitting my ass in a chair regardless of what people say so shouldn't Sims do that to a lounge chair!
Oh. My. God. I loved movie hangout and I can see that some of the patterns give a movie hangout stuff vibe, but less in your face colours. also I love the water thing (I forgot the name I'm sorry) and this theme and overall pack altogether looks amazing. Keep doing you EA, because I can see this game and its expansions improving in balance and funness ( I know that's not a word) rapidly and I see a very good potential!
Note: please do not reply on this and go BUT WE WANT SEASONS AND PETS AND TODDLERRRSSS because I can easily live without any of these things for as long as it takes, or never get them! The only reason I'm asking this is because I want to keep this a positive comment. Good job overall EA!😄

What I really like about it is that is actually VARIED game play in a stuff pack for once.
Not just "You have table that you can put food on" or "An icecream machine using recycled animations"
It is an actual form of game play that has varied animations.

Can we play catch? Is there a trampoline? Is there a treehouse? Sandbox? Those are backyard activities. I feel like this pack is basically about that water slide when there should be more outdoor activities for $10. I'm excited about that six seater round table though... I'll give them that!

Also they make plans on what content to make and when to release it... What are they supposed to do, drop what they are working on and work on something else? SimguruDrake said they listen to game feedback and forums, but sadly most simmers have share game data turned off so it's not telling them shit.

We are getting waaaaaaaaaay more stuff packs/game packs than expansion packs. I can understand that expansion packs take longer because they have new features added in and you guys are stalling for time, but in previous Sims games, there was usually a maintainable ratio between the two. Like on the Sims 3, Expansion Pack, then Stuff Pack. Expansion Pack, then Stuff Pack. I love the Sims 4, but nothing is really drawing me back in, the game just gets boring fast and I end up playing previous Sims games :(

+SpottedFire Well, they have various teams working on each pack, for example, even if they stopped releasing Stuff packs, you would still have to wait 6 months for EP and GP, so I mostly just say to people that they are not forced to buy the SP, they are releasing them so people who want to decorate or not get bored while waiting for the EP or GP

I'm not saying they should stop making stuff packs, just saying it should be reduced. As said, there are stuff packs/game packs that should've been better merged into another than separated with an additional cost. I'm aware of their release schedule, I'm saying it's just overwhelming. I know I'm not forced to buy these, most people think this as well. So pointing that out to others won't change their opinion on the matter.

The fact that this is the 8TH STUFF PACK and there is not a clear reason why the content is not only lacking, but is CONTINUALLY adding things that core players/veteran simmers DO NOT want is extremely bad.

I agree completely. However, how do you explain the lackluster base game? The Sims 2 was more advanced. They also took out an entire life group with no indication that they will ever return. Instead of focusing on improving the base, they have now released 7 stuff packs. It's 2016 and games are more advanced than ever. There is a serious problem when Grand Theft Auto V is more simulated than the 4th iteration of The Sims 4.

Can people stop complaining about the sims packs already! The Sims have got the idea already that you want toddlers, pets and seasons! They realise you're angry and they are probably working on one of them to make you happy so they can earn more money. They would be "milking it" if they just copied the sims 3 but with different graphics. After the millions of comments and requests for sims3 packs I'm pretty sure they are working on something SO GIVE THEM A CHANCE AND STOP COMPLAINING ALREADY! I personally like the look of this pack so don't ruin it for all the people who want to buy this.
