I like this game pack idea. If your not someone whose willing to pay five times as much for an expansion pack, but you may be willing to pay $20 for something that expands your game a little bit. Plus i also heard that there are going to be free updates as well in the future, much like the pool, ghost and career updates. Excited For the future for the Sims 4!!

If they keep adding free stuff with updates like the ghost and stuff that needed to be in the game at launch ( baby's, pools,...) than i'm cool but if they start overdoing this than fuck EA. It's kind of funny how people seem to think they can just snap they're fingers, and magically pets, seasons, etc will come all at one time. Just take a few deep breaths people, this is just a game pack, not a full expansion pack.

People saying this should have been in the base game, vacations have NEVER been in TS1-TS3 base games. It's like saying pets and seasons should've been in it. In TS3, EA would count this as a full expansion. But it's supposed to be like half an expansion, for half the price of an expansion pack. I can't wait for how much stuff expansion packs will have in TS3. Hopefully like TS1, where it went all out.

It's more expensive than an expansion pack for TS3 ever was, imagine what it'll be like for actual expansion packs.
I will not be forced or coarced in to believing that $40AUD is "acceptable" for just a few items. What does this tell us?
It means that the actual expansions are going to cost way more then The Sims 3 expansions (no doubt in the $60-$70 range, proving they're nothing but greedy and corrupt power-mongers destroying the image of Maxis even further).

Outdoor Retreat is a great first game pack! It introduced vacations to me. It also brought back memories of going outside when I was younger. Love the new adventures my sims can have now. I actually got this alongside Jungle Adventure! I hope we get more vacation packs! 🌃🌅

For all you people complaining this is a rubbish expansion pack, it is not an expansion. It is simply a 'Stuff Pack', a new and improved version compared to TS2 & TS3 so i'm loving this.

I really enjoyed this game pack. Hopefully many more like this one to come! Possibly even ones with more content!
When they do seasons, it would be really cool if it came with a New England costal town to go with it. You could have snow in the winter, the beach in the summer and the leaves in the autumn, and it'd all actually make sense. It'd also be a good place to put that type of architecture and decorating, because we've had the means but never the right location. Maybe you could even live in a renovated lighthouse :)

To be honest, I don't understand all the haters, Sims 4 is 100x better than Sims 3. Look at the graphics and the character building system, its insane, and theres so much things to do!

@Electrar I'm a Sims fan, i have played the sims since "The Sims" and I've been seeing improvement from the sims to the sims 2 and from the sims 2 to sims 3. But from sims 3 to sims 4 the only NEW features they add are "graphics"? Really?? And they removed a lot that should be in the base game (like on sims 3) only to make a stuff pack or game pack so you have yo pay again for something that it should have been added at first, lol. it's a joke or what?. Sims 4 is almost reaching to an end and the only "feature" that Sims 4 surpass sims 3 is the one you said above "graphics" that can be fixed with mods. So no thanks.
@@Kranio95 Get your facts straight, the Sims 4 is nowhere near its end. They already confirmed that they have content in mind for AT LEAST 3 more years, if The Sims 5 started its development you can expect 5 years :)

Emelie I mean, open world had a lot of disadvantages. It took ages to get anywhere (I'd rather have a short loading screen), the Sims would always be late on their job either because of the car pool glithing out or because they were taking the most stupid ways, the driving looked awful, all the community lots would be empty, even if they are designated as the hotspot for the night there were only ever up to 5(ish) people on the lots. In Sims 4 however the community lots are almost always filled with people, even the smaller open areas and I seriously prefer that.
I mean sure, open world is a nice concept, but there was just too much blank space un between the lots and too little to do.
Open World was a great feature but I literally couldn't find many Sims at public places, usually ran into old people and I usually stayed home most of the time.

I was so excited for this and it was such a letdown. I wish the sims could swim in the lakes or waterfalls, had more caves to explore, and maybe brought back Bigfoot like you did in Sims 2. I still enjoyed it just was expecting a bit more with a camping expansion

Vanessa Clearwater sorry to tell you this, but there won't be any horses in the sims 4 pets. People found leaked code from the toddlers update that had commands for dogs and cats, but no such luck for beloved horses. The good news is, there might be some sort of farm pack in the future! And horses will definitely be included!

So, are they ditching expansion packs and just doing "game packs" and updates now? Or will we at some point get some retail-released expansion/stuff packs?
I love the Sims 4, but the way they've been rolling out new features and explaining things has been pretty slapdash and confusing.
Not completely sure if this is right but I believe they've said that game packs are kind of improved stuff packs and that they will still have bigger expansion packs in the future. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I saw it explained that way somewhere.
Well, I hope they do. There are countless aspects of the Sims 4's gameplay that could be expanded/added, and I don't feel inclined to pay half the price of the full game for what is essentially just a new neighbourhood with a few items.
What they have said is pretty straight forward, Gamepacks are in the middle between a stuff pack, and expansion pack. But dont have as much content as an expansion pack, and cost less than an expansion pack. Expansion and stuff packs will still be released. I guess you could call it store content (sorta). I honestly can't wait for how big the expansion packs will be. Because in TS3 this would be counted as a full expansion.
I think there are going to be some expansion packs in the future, but not as many as in the Sim 3. Also, free updates are awesome
