After watching this ep, I realised that this drama was never about her finding back her place again but it was all about a motherโ€™s love. She loves her child so much that she was willing to die again. Also, she came alive because her mother wanted to see her again. Yes, the ending was heartbreaking and I wished that the epilogue shown above will come true but doing so will cause the ending to be unrealistic. Such a beautiful show, it really taught us important lessons: to cherish life and our family/friends because tomorrow is never guaranteed and sometimes, goodbyes are more important than hellos. โค๏ธ

The reason why everyone is mad and unhappy is not because of the sad ending . Everyone knew that Yuri had to go , but Yuri's character taught us so much about love and loss , about letting go off the grief and guilt and only cherishing the good moments, we got so attached with her . People are sad because a selfless and strong person like Yuri had to go through this tragedy . It's not like we hate min jeong , we just wanted Yuri to stay to see her happy and live the life she deserved. It's her fate that played evil with her . I know the ending is fine ,but seeing Yuri suffer all the time at such a young age was very tough . We all just wanted Yuri's happiness not a happy ending . Yuri will aways be in our heart โค๏ธ

The ones who said that the drama had a "garbage" ending, "terrible" "waste of time" etc, I get, It was such a sad ending for Yuri, so painful, but it was the right thing to do, Yuri chose to sacrifice herself to give her daughter a good life, an act of a mom's true love, literally. Seo woo is now a happy girl who seems to be following her dreams and also loved by Min jung and Ganghwa. The drama kept the ending "realistic", cause it wouldn't have been natural if she would've stayed, she was already dead, she only came back to heal the pain and blame of her loved ones and to also give a proper goodbye .
Hi bye mama! left us beautiful lessons, most important "we must value our life so when our time comes we can leave without regrets", It was about accepting life, fate and reality. I just loved it and to see Cho seo woo grown made me cry so much, she grew well, happy and loved by her parents who also learned to heal and be better as a married couple.

The people acting surprised by Yuri leaving - itโ€™s in the title. Yuri says โ€œHiโ€ for 49 days then โ€œByeโ€. From the beginning, you can tell Min-jeong loves Seo-woo and even if she isnโ€™t happy in the marriage, she still loves her. She calls herself her mom and doesnโ€™t want to replace Yuri. For the epilogue, teenage/grown-up Seo-woo obviously knows who her biological mom is. She knows and she also knows that Min-jeong is her mom too. She can have two moms. Doesnโ€™t have to be a big deal. It is a big deal if you loved the series until the ending without understanding where the writers were coming from, where Yuri the character was coming from, and more. Besides, Yuri didnโ€™t come back because of Seo-woo. She came back because her mom missed her and had regrets. Now, her mom doesnโ€™t have regrets surrounding her daughter and got to have a proper goodbye. She patched things up with her younger sister. She spent time with her best friend. She made friends in the form of ghosts and in Pil-seung. She made a best friend in the form of the lady who can see ghosts. She had a happy life and a happy death. When we meet her in the first episode and then when sheโ€™s brought back to life, there is a key indication that it will be sad and wonโ€™t end happy. Either with her taking her place back or being reborn.

That's the reason why i can't support the other love story. Yuri insists that kanghwa loves minjung but i can't really feel it, well maybe he loves her but far beyond the love that he has for yuri. Minjung and kanghwa didn't divorce but at least we all know that kanghwa loves yuri more, and his love for her is eternal. The writers are just so cruel because they didn't give a second chance for this family to be together. I'll just hold on to this epilogue and imagine more what if's.

Yuri was a first love (maybe a forever love) that gave him Seo Woo, but Min Jung is a love at a different time in Kang Hwa's life (after Yuri) and she kind of saved him or pulled him out of that depression. Yuri was there for 5 years as a ghost so she did witness the love between them and she appreciates Min Jung for coming into their lives. This series by far will be one of the most unforgettable dramas i have ever seen in my entire life. It was very tear jerking that even after the last episode ended I still find myself crying. This drama tells us that tomorrow is never really promised. The ending was very painful, i had a hard time getting over it actually. I was so sad even by just seeing snippets of it. Itโ€™s just heartbreaking that Yuri and Ganghwa did not get the second chance of being together. Maybe that was not the premise of the story. The love they have for each other was so real and so pure that you canโ€™t help to feel more broken and shattered for both of them. Especially during the scenes when they were saying goodbye to each other. Ganghwa was trying his best to look happy even if I know heโ€™s not (imagine losing her again and again) so that he can send off Yuri properly. But I know in his heart he will always love her and will cherish all their memories together. They maybe not together in this lifetime but I hope they will meet again in the next. I keep coming back to this video. even though it breaks me to pieces on how this is literally what their life would be like if Yuri wasnt standing in that crosswalk. Their little family being happy, and the fact Yuri able to watch Seowoo grow up. Omg it hurts so much especially knowing the ending. It just hits differently, I hate it here ๐Ÿ˜ญ

the title, " hi bye mama " reflects to seo woo and yuri. seo woo saying hi and bye to her mother while yuri is saying hi and bye to her own mother once she knew that her mothers wish was the one that brought her back to life even just for 49 days.

This was the scene that made me the happiest in the entire drama. The first scene where Gangwa and Yuri fell in love in three seconds was also another powerful scene. But this one takes the gold for me because it alleviated all the stress I gained from previous episodes and prepared me to be able to say good bye to Yuri. I know this is all fiction but damn it sent a great message, it showed us how strong a Mother's love is, also a Father's(when Gangwa wanted to see ghosts-instead of Seowoo- or go up instead of Yuri). Not everyone gets a second chance at life nor saying goodbye to loved ones. So cherish every moment you have with your family and friends and your partner because life is short and you never know when your time is.

It's a sad ending but it's the right way to end the story considering the main message of the series. Life is often not fair but we have to learn to accept it, learn from it and move on. I lost my brother due to accident 10 years ago and i am really impressed with how this movie was able to portray many layers and phases of grieving a sudden death. Even this "what if" scene reminds me of many dreams that i had when thinking of what would have happened if my brother was not on that fateful car accident and how our family's life would've been much different.

She displays the dimension where we rarely see of her. Never get afraid of showing what talent she had all this while and yes, we must admit we all cried every episode of this drama. This "What If" is what we really want for the main characters to have, but faith is mysteriously not in our favors for a lot reasons. This scene shown that even in the face of reality, no matter how harsh it is, we always seek or imagine how would things were would be.. Thats also how regrets exist..
This scene is strangely sad to watch although its show how their faith would be if Yu-Ri just decided to go back home. Its happy right. But then this is just an imagination.
This ending is interestingly possible if the show consider time traveling circumstances which isn't part of the show's realm. The title would also not make sense, if Yu-Ri didn't went up to heaven..

This show covered so much ground emotionally and was so powerful it made you cry constantly. Some critic reviewer wrote a comment about it saying that it was more catatonic than cathartic. I didn't see it as either. It was just real and raw. You felt and experienced her pain and her joy. As well as the pain and joy of those that loved her. All too often in Hollywood we get big blockbuster movies with tons of CGI and it is all designed to wow us and be these huge emotional experiences. But this series to me was the real blockbuster. It grabbed you and shook you. Left you dazed and in tears. It was a "what if" on massive proportions.

This drama showed us all the stages of grief. The last one is acceptance right? That is what the drama did to the final episode.
There are many forms of happy ending. I do not consider it a sad ending but for me it is a fulfilling one. Why? Yuri went up without regrets and she has a smile on her face. She left good memories to her love ones and they were able to let go off her fully and as well as their regrets. Seo woo remembers her and loves her even if she is not around anymore.
All I know is that, this drama gave me tons of lessons,i'm appreciative but it let me be more and more appreciative to the people who loves me.

Every character in this drama were exceptional.. all played well and the message delivered through every character story is what we need to learn in our life as we forget and take things for granted.. but so many people in the world go through this emotions who lost their loved ones in tragedy that they have so much left incomplete in life.. we should not ignore these and only focus on the ending.. the ending was meant to be thats the reality.. she came to make things well and have a proper goodbye and it was her mom wish to see her a last time. If you think she had to stay than all ghost deserved a living back as all had unfortunate in their life like the ghost family.. who had to leave their son and they died in accident.
