Beom-pal was like lowkey the comedy portion of this thriller series for me (at some scenes atleast haha) he almost died for idk how many times hahaha
he runs after the physician shouting "Seo-Bi! Seo-Bi!" for almost the entire series lol

I hated his character's ineptitude with a passion but dang he redeemed himself

Just some insight about the origins. The gat originated from the Central Asian steppes where the people must endure the harsh, wind-swept weathers, many of these cultures had full head covers and hooded riding coats. These type of hats were used by nomadic people living in these regions used as a protection against the wind and sand blasts. Due to the cultural exchange during the Tang Dynasty between nomadic cultures, Chinese, and other East Asian cultures, this type of hat came to China, Japan and Korea. In China, it evolved into the Weimao and Damao, in Japan, the ichimegasa, and in Korea, the gat. It came to Korea during the Three Kingdoms period of Korea where it became a fashionable item, and during the Mongol Yuan rule of Korea, the gat got Mongol influence, and because of the heavy Confucian influence on Joseon, this hat became widespread amongst the Korean bureaucrats. By the way, I majored in East Asian studies.
The name of the hat in Korean is "GOT"

@@jasonhuang6078 it may have the similarity in shapes but Got was nothing like the hat in Tang dynasty as in the use and the progress of got’s development. But Got did get influenced by Won dynasty as Myung dynasty did!

now that lord ahn & mu-yeong are gone, beom-pal is now part of the prince's squad along with seo-bi & yeong-shin. he finally grew a spine, thank goodness.
Got chemistry to Beom-pal and seo-bi 😊😊.. Like him, though got me mad when his so coward to fight. Hahhaha

They’re so funny. I enjoyed watching this and having the time in explaining to us non Koreans what these different hats are for. It’s cute to see how amused they are about non Koreans being confused about their hats.

Feathers of Gat aren't just fancy. It is for lasso defense. In actual ancient wars, lasso was used a lot.

Kim Sung Kyu's historical knowledge on the hats is so good, seems he does a lot of research for Yeong Shin's character.
Yeongshin is my favorite in the whole series. I admit I didn't really like Beompal at the first part of the series, but was glad to see his development. But I swear he was always getting saved by Yeongshin and if Yeongshin died while saving him, Idk I will flip all my shit lol
KINGDOM is one of a kind kdrama!! not at all like the typical zombie movies!!! amazing story line and absolute amszing actors and present in the drama!! A MUST WATCH for alllll!!

The top kot is called as 'sang too' and it is for grown up men. Since those who were married were also regarded as grown ups, underaged boys who were married also had the sang too as well.
ju ji hoon asked the same question (why prince has top knot?)to writer, and she said "don't go overboard, it is a stoty after S2"
