song hwa was so flustered that she didn’t even notice the rain even though she was looking at the window 😭 i just love how ikjun was shown to be rlly busy throughout the whole episode and he asked her to eat with him several times which was nothing special but then it was actually to build up to this moment!! such good writing ;-;

From when Songhwa came running into the apartment knowing his passcode, Ikjun who came back with the sight of her sleeping while hugging Uju, them talking about Songhwa’s mom, and finally the unflashy confession. The married couple-like atmosphere I’ve always felt around them (Songhwa washing Ikjun’s face, them talking about each other’s family problems) in the end brought us to this confession. I’ve been shipping them since the first band practice scene and happiness is an understatement to finally come to this. The story of the two is just breathtakingly beautiful.

songhwa is a perfect figure to be uju’s mother. and again,,, arent they each other’s first love? pls let them be together 😭 dont let ikjun be another jungpal 😭😭😭💔

I wished for nothing more than ikjun happiness. Despite have gone through soo much with his ex-wife cheating on him, taking care of uju by himself, he still take care of others around him by being cupid for wintergarden 😂 listening to his friends and patients concern and being a good brother to his sister.
Though that his personality being crazy and bright, he does seems lonely sometimes. That's why he said being with Songhwa is a treat for him. He had always like her and has always regret not doing anything regarding his feeling
Maybe that is why he wanted Jeongwon to follow his heart and not making the same mistake like he does, 20 years ago 😭

this scene made me swoon so much, not just because of how even the most mundane activities feel exciting and like a treat to ik-jun showing how deep and "normal" his love for her is (esp when kdramas tend to make love seem like all these dramatic, unrealistic or expensive acts of running 4 hours on foot for them, it's so refreshing) but also because both characters are so incredibly selfless and caring for everyone around them that they barely make time for themselves.
the way this drama shows that each characters struggle, have faults. learn and grow in a realistic way just makes me fall in love with the personalities of each character over and over again.

Yall guys remember when he had no sleep waiting with SongHwa to get the results? Omgggg. LEE IK JUN, you deserve the world.

After he confessed to her, I think these lines meant something. When Ik-Jun said:
"It's raining outside can't you hear the raindrops?"
"How can you not know? You turned out to see"
It's like him saying "Didn't you hear my confession??" 😁

This was the best part of ep 10. I literally dropped my jaw...with this revelation. I considered their relationship as platonic until this happened.

so that’s why he always aske songhwa to eat lunch with him. Its a treat for himself. 😭

There's something about romance between adults. things are not flashy or stuntly but they are way too much heart warming that can melt any kind heart. Ik Jun's each and every word struck through my heart. How much he must has suffered for his 20 years old unrecruited love. I felt it too when he told Jung Won to not take decisions hurriedly like him and follow his heart. This might be the reason why he couldnot hold his marriage. He accept his reality which allow him to remain as a friend to Song Hwa. I have seen each friend of the group asking help from Ik Jun but when it comes to help Ik Jun's only choice is Song Hwa. Their daily meetings, lunch, drives are his most possessed rewards and treats that he gifts him. That's his only solace. This kind of maturity comes with age and experience only. i don't know how this ship will go in future but my heart cries for Ik Jun. Hope writer-nim look after his feeling.

This is the reason why I love the friends to lovers kind of romance. They are already deeply bonded even before they take their relationship to the next level. I love how at ease they are with each other. They already act like a married couple, they just don't notice it.

For me this scene was the BEST scene of the whole serie so far, i dont think it exist a cuteness detector that can quantify the cuteness of this

Have you noticed how with Song Hwa, Ik Jun never makes it about himself ever. When Ahn Chi Hong and the residents were pressing him about his relationship with Song Hwa, he tries to change the subject and avoids putting her in any form of discomfort as much as possible. When she had her cancer scare, he didn't pester her but was there for her and even bought drinks for the people taking care of her. Even in this scene, when she asks him what he does for himself, he immediately asks her back and was more interested in talking about what makes HER happy. The culmination of his feelings at the end isn't out of selfishness nor does it serve his own agenda, it was a last ditch effort for him to continue with his life because if he kept his feelings to himself any longer he would just be hurting their relationship in the long run. At that point, he was willing to accept whatever Song Hwa's answer would be. He risked the most valuable thing in his life: their friendship--to confess.

1. When Chi Hong confessed Song Hwa was totally unmoved.
2. Everyone says that Ik Jun has never liked a girl first because he always had Song Hwa that he never moved on from.
3. Since his divorce Ik Jun's scenes are all about asking Song Hwa to hang out with him.
4. Ik Jun never asks anyone for help except when Uju was sick he called Song Hwa and even in the first episode Song Hwa was babysitting Uju.
If Song Hwa turns Ik Jun down whether for Chi Hong or just because she doesn't like him, it would really suck. 😔

I love this scene but i love the next scene that comes right after this scene more. that scene where the camera blurs but you can hear them washing dishes together while squabbling, laughing, and agreeing on things. it sort of shows how much they complement each other. and it also sort of teases us on how it would look like if songhwa accept ikjun and how bright ikjun household would be with songhwa around. the pd and the script writer is god tier.

I was not sure about his feeling first but in this episode when he asks song-hwa to eat with him in canteen , song-hwa mentions how cute and nice person chi-hong is. Knowing that ik-jun already knew about chi-hong's feelings for song-hwa , he did not teased her when she called chi-hong nice person. If it would be any of other person in gang he would constantly tease them since he is kind of immature but with song-hwa he just sulked and told her to hurry up saying he was hungry.

I forgot all of romantic scenes i ever seen in korean dramas after i wathced this scene. I swear, its the most touching and sweet scene ever. The more i grew older, i realized that a simple and little things can be more meaningful than those cheap romantic sentences. Aaaaaaahhhh... I love them so much and so hunger with the second season. PD-NIM..... FULLFILL YOUR PROMISE, PLEASE!!!! WE NEED SECOND SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VERY SOOOOOON!!!!!!

I'm deeply in love with how everything seems so natural between these two. Nothing dramatic nor flashy in this confession, but still heart fluttering. One of the most well written scenes on the drama!

What i like about this drama is makes me feel, being human is beautiful. The human that have up and down phase. They're not perfect but always do best to be. They're maybe hurting but not failing. It's simply beautiful. It's so relateable. I love it. I don't want this drama to end.

i've been repeating this scenes for only -God-knows how many i did. but i never get tired of it. for some reasons, i've noticed how songhwa treats ikjun and how the way she looks at him diffrently. still believe ikjun was songhwa's first love till they turn it around and vice versa. but i don't realize ikjun's feelings is that deep. please don't let them sink, ikjun deserve a well-made happy ending and i couldn't find other than him being with songhwa, and finally uju could feel mother's love and i actuallly don't really care if it takes some time, i could wait as long as they are the end game. i don't watch reply series, but everyone seems afraid to put their hope up bcs they expected ikjun to be jungpaled. want to believe this ain't reply series but "wise series" so i hope no more "past twisted" but instead, the development of each characters and their relationship that we see in time each episode without any anxiousness to guess who end up with who. just let us enjoy each couple's relationship development :,(

This was probably one of the most subtle confessions in kdrama history. Imagine someone who is busy day and night, finds happiness in something as small as eating food and drinking coffee with you😭. She is the only one who finds his jokes funny, he is the only one who went the extra mile to see her at the hospital early in the morning despite being busy. They would definitely make an amazing couple. A question i had though is why did ik-jun confess all of a sudden after all this time? Was a jealous of chi-hong😂? Or did the divorce finally made him realize that he deserves to be happy and he should give his relationship with song hwa a chance?. However i don't think ik-jun regrets his marriage as that gave him U-ju, the apple of his eyes. He might have loved his wife too and tried to make the marriage work. What he might have regretted however is not confessing to song-Hwa at the right time. I feel tht ikjun did not confess because of sk or because he thought song Hwa liked someone else so the crush was pointless. He maybe dated other women in order to move on and ended up having a family. On the other hand song hwa might have been heartbroken n tried to move on in order to not spoil the friendship they had. Although i would love to see ik-song together, it is important to understand songhwa's side. It must have been so painful and lonely for her to move on as well. Song hwa is the sweetest n loves u-ju but question is she ready to be a mom?. It can be hard for her to get back to loving ik-jun since so much has changed in their respective lives. Whatever song hwa's decision is we gotta respect it but i really hope and wish she picks accepts ik-jun's love because they are perfect for eo😭. Eagerly waiting for season 2!

My ship songhwa-ikjun is sailing sooo well in this episode. Ikjun is slowly showing his feelings openly to songhwa. It's cute when ikjun teach songhwa to be patient in front of her food, nobody gonna steal it anyway. And songhwa "i have 3 brothers at home" 's excuse is never not cute!! I lost it when ikjun saw songhwa rushed to see uju & slept beside sick uju. Their fight is like a couple who's already married for 10 years lol cute. And songhwa's obsession towards rainy day is never not adorable :')

I can't even explain how much this made my heart flutter. It was an indirect confession but it was enough to make any girl swoon. Ik jun x song hwa please get together :((((( you two plus uju are already a family 💗

They are definitely the official couple. Ik Jun like Song Hwa right from the beginning, remember when he's young and first come to Seoul for interview, Ik Jun gave Song Hwa the hair tie.
When they first meet during the school orientation day, Song Hwa was looking at Ik Jun and Joon wan and purposely follow them to the secret hideout. Her expression was so obvious that she has crush on either of them.
When she rejected Seok Hyung for the first time during university period, we know that she has crush on someone else. On that same day, Ik Jun knew his buddy likes Song Hwa, he threw away his birthday gift for Song Hwa and went back to drink beer alone.
When Song Hwa thought that she might have some tumour, other care for Song Hwa too but only Ik Jun appeared in the hospital and sit by her, waiting for the result together. Ik Jun always appeared and ask Sung Hwa for lunch too. There were some sweet moment where Song Hwa ended up being the one to wipe Ikjun face to clean him up.

I have been a fan of this director from Reply series and Prison Playbook. I was shipping Taek and Deuk Sun in Reply 1988 right from the beginning. The director is very good at revealing the loveline in his drama, it always seemed surprising but if you rewatch, you will find how IkJun and Song Hwa has interacted to each other, and this couple loveline is decided right from the beginning

I just realized how Songhwa is always not aware whether it's raining or not and that Ikjun usually had to tell her first but on the latest ep of S2, Songhwa is the one who noticed it first that it's raining. I like that it didn’t end up a heavy scene. I like that there weren’t hug or kisses that happened although I want to see them also maybe in season two. Ikjun knows her a lot. He have loved her for so long and I think the attitude he developed in waiting resulted to this beautiful and warm confession that made Song hwa re-evaluate again, his actions, their past, their friendship, his heart and hers as well. And made us swoooon 🥰🥰🥰
