- Call what you may, Superhero movies are made super because of the villains. The bigger the threat, the cooler the victory. So when we pit our mortal heroes against some badass, overpowered villains, we know shit's about to get real. Now MCU is not known for a memorable lineup of villains, but the ones we do remember, were overpowered af. So today we're taking a look at all the villains whose powers can put our heroes to shame.

Dormammu it's supposed to be the strongest villain ever in the Mcu.

In my opinion , Dormammu has to be the strongest living being in the MCU, he didn't actually lose to Strange, he got bored killing the same person over and over again #timestonetooopplsnerf

Dunno. Inside the Dark Dimension, yeah so far he’s probably the strongest. Outside, not sure. In the MCU, Dormammu is as big as full power Surtur. If he were to fight planet-sized Ego or any of the other upcoming Celestials, I’d think he’d lose. I’d basically be a fight between two goliaths, one who has magic, can shoot energy beam and control the Dark Dimension, and the other who can rearrange matter at will and fire off energy blasts as well.
Also keep in mind that Eternity and the other three beings who created the infinity stones (Infinity, Entropy and Death if it’s like the comics) are canon to the MCU, and if they’re alive or if you’re comparing all beings alive or dead, then Dormammu would get his ass handed to him in no time. I would like to see a fight between Dormammu and the Watcher though. Dormammu would probably end up winning but it’d still be interesting.

Dormammu is more powerful than thanos but that is only because of the dark dimension, if he were to travel out of the dark dimension (Which I don’t think he can), thanos could beat him.

That is one of the things I loved about infinity war we all walked into the cinema thinking the bad guys would lose leaving the heroes to celebrate their difficult but costly victory but for once that didn't happen and it was wonderful. I remember sitting there in shock watching half the heroes turn to dust and it was spectacular, Thanos may have done a terrible thing but he made a valid argument so it became a movie were the morality and the motives of the bad guy though misguided wasn't a powerplay to rule the universe but to save it and that was refreshing. Though Thanos used the black order as proxies when it came to time to kill half the population of a planet he didn't personally kill unless either provoked or was absolutely necessary it was as if he found that part of his plan though necessary to him it may have been distasteful. Thanos may have been so big and powerful but as a character he certainly was one of the most interesting bad guy in all of the marvel universe to date.
That’s what I love about Infinity war.
It wasn’t the Avengers movie, it was Thanos movie and he was the main character and he was the one who was so self righteous to think he was saving everyone by doing what he was doing. He’s the hero of his own story but it created drastic emotional damage to the viewer because of all the characters we’ve grown to care for. Such a perfect movie imo
when i went to the movie theater to see infinity war, it was my first and last time watching it. when i say spider man die i shed a few tears, but that's what i like about marvel it can show so many emotions and its crazy. but yea never watched it again
You are right about the philosophy of Thanos. He essentially believed in the same ideas as Communism and socialism because those ideas suppose that because there is an exact volume of natural resources therefore there is a population limit on prosperity.
Which is his major fallacy because it does not account for ingenuity or progress which can be achieved through freedom, nor does it account for the existence of alternatives in food, chemistry, materials, or energy.
Except, that for all his great knowledge and planning, he was unable to realise that killing half the universe doesn't actually change the situation. After 1-2 generations the population would be back and probably have increased by a ton. Since 1940 the world's population grew about 300%, 6.7 billion. So yea, not actually going to do anything considering he immediately destroyed the stones afterwards.
Which btw were one of the key items protecting the universe from beings like Dormammu.
I much prefer his comic versions reason, as a gift to Lady Death which is much more inline with his title "Mad Titan".
I do think that dormammu is stronger than thanos, this is because of dormammu being able to destroy planets and rule over them with no infinity stones to increase his power, he was just stuck in a time loop and went onto other planets, while thanos needs infinity stones to become the same power as dormammu but still isn’t capable of ruling over planets by taking control of them (he only won because of the, weaker, avengers were trying to stop him mostly because Wanda had no power against two stones that could tear her to shreds and captain marvel wasn’t there.
anyone of you guys have notice an error in DR STRANGE after watching loki that the infinity stones doesn't work in other dimension ? but time stone did in DARK DIMENSION ?

Yes, there is no way around it. But you should then stage the demise of a villain in a really believable way, which luckily most films have managed. One thing I don't like at all is when a villain is introduced as ultra powerful and smart and then acts as stupid as Mr. Bean in the final fight and loses because of it.

Fun fact, Thanos was rected sooo down, that he was weaker than he ever was in comic. This apply even for IG Thanos. Aside his earlier introduction into Marvel comic universe, he was almost always undefeatable by anyone, but himself.
In fact, in IG battle, Earth heroes (Avengers included) were insignificant distraction. Cosmic entities were nuisance to him and only future Living Tribunal was capable to find solution how to "trick" him.

Scarlett Witch at the power level she was in the Multiverse of Madness would have beaten Thanos without much problems. That's of course, assuming they just come across one another with no prep time. With Prep Time? I think Thanos would figure something out to make it at least an even battle.

You really don't read comics and don't know Thanos's power. Thanos was second strongest Titan next to Odin without any stones. The reason why Thanos was waiting for Odin's death is because only he can stop him. Hela is nothing to him.

Hela was specifically imprisoned in Niffliem - Hell (or rather Hel) is the afterlife. They have three: Asgard for heroes, Hel for the common person and Niffliem for the worst of the worst.
Not to mention that thanos survived snapping TWICE, but hulk nearly lost his arm by doing it once and tony died from doing it
It's been proven that the reason Hulk lost his arm like that is because he tried so hard to bring Black Widow back to life while also bringing everyone else back

I don't think she will be "evil" but she will be a villian, I am pretty sure. It fits perfectly: she embraced the chaos magic, it controls her, she is to strong for the avengers as not even Dr Strange can handle her, they have to find a way to take her "back" to reality and take control of herself, maybe Vision could take part in that. Seems like a good movie they wouldn't waste, but we will see

I believe Scarlet Witch will usher in the next phase of the MCU....The X-Men. Whereas Loki introduced the multiverse & Kang the Conqueror and I believe Spider Man or Falcon/Winter Soldier will open the doors for the Fantastic 4. I think they'll use streams on Disney+ to usher in newer films....as epilogues & prologues. Makes sense to me

In my opinion, Thanos isn't a powerful villain, he's only using the gauntlet's power.

He sniffed out the avengers plot against him from another dimension and nearly beat them all without the aid of the gauntlet. Also, most heroes possess some item that strengthens them so you can't discount Thanos for that.
