- The Motorola Razr flip phone is back, but now it’s an Android smartphone with a foldable display. The 2019 Razr keeps the same general form factor, but replaces the T-9 keypad and small LCD with a 6.2-inch, foldable plastic OLED panel and Android 9 Pie. It’ll cost $1,499 when it arrives in January of next year.

this seems like the product that will be viable for most people after its 2nd or 3rd iteration and honestly, I am here for it
My thoughts exactly. And with the phone sizes getting ridiculas this one seems to get it just right.
There surely is a market for these. But not for "most people". People who don't want to take their phone out all the time lean towards smart watches. People who use their phones 24x7 would rather just want a bigger battery and call it a day. People who watch a lot of content would still get an $800 iPad because it's both, cheap and reliable.People who just want something to help with their work would always want something that runs windows or Linux with a full-sized keyboard. the rich ones already got their gold plated iPhones, People who're poor would look for better price to performance. Something like the Poco F1 or Realme X2 Pro. Someone who wants a foldable phone for the fun of it would definitely get one of these though. You see a multi tool aims to be one for every tool but cannot work as good as it's full sized counterparts. It lives to be called a fashion accessory in the end :D

@@jozefbrodala5318 That's probably because your phone is tiny or your pockets are huge.

The phone is overpriced, I won't pay more than $400 for the plastic screen and the lack of features and specs.
@@rwyo83 plastic screens are actually "Shatter proof" and more durable than glass. They do get scratched but that can be prevented with a $2 screen protector. You cannot fold glass, So everything with a foldable / Bendable screen will have a plastic screen regardless of prices.
@@dhairya8238 You can't put screen protector, that was a warning from Samsung. THese foldables are not water resistant, they have moving parts, I will like to see you bring your foldable to the beach, and touching the phone with your sandy hands, the screen will get damage, and the hinge will sound like grinding pepper
It seems amazing. It's smaller, less distracting and keeps the screen safe. The only downside here is only one, mid-tier camera, and high price. Great innovation from motorola
The one thing I miss about old school flip phones is being open to flip it openly or slam it shut dramatically. What a satisfying gesture. I will not be paying $1500 for this but if this becomes more common and comes down in price and turns out to be the future of smart phones, count me in

The way the screen folds in like that is exactly how it should work! It blew my mind how nobody else has been doing it that way
But what's the point really? The screen is only marginally bigger than on a regular flagship and this costs much more with less features.
Maybe I am missing something but with the Galaxy fold you basically get a 2in1 phone and tablet, with this the only advantage compared to a regular phone is that it's a bit smaller in my pocket
@@jozefbrodala5318 >a bit smaller

Nobody else was doing it this way because it reduces phone's hardware specs, which makes zoomers turn up their noses.
