  • My Filipino friend Noel brought us some Filipino desserts and oh boy..I did not expect them to taste this good. I wasn't really expecting to like Filipino desserts this much, but I can say with confidence, you have to try Filipino snacks if you ever get the chance. Hope you enjoy the video guys, and we'll have a part 2 with snacks next time, so look forward to that :)

As a no mind filipino kid before i actually never thought "leche flan" is that the term "leche" is a tagalog curse word added with the dessert flan

    • @erdjie

Leche means milk in Spanish. Our ancestors reinterpreted it as cursed word, which literally means "semen".

Espasol, the ultimate pasalubong from south Luzon! I hope Erina gets to try it coz it's always interesting how we associate foreign food to the ones we have in our country. I remember years ago, my dad's client who comes back and forth between Manila and Japan gave him some lovely wrapped omiyage that's only available through a limited edition tour. When we ate them we were all like "Oh wow! it's like a fancy espasol!" lol

@@roku_nine yeah i remember a while back reading about maybe thailand? Or somewhere around there having a fully coconut sourced building so the roof was palms the entire building was lumber like they even used the actual nuts for something to but its escaping me but it was really cool and looked awesome im pretty sure it was a public government building like maybe a town hall or official office type thing. Anyway i get it but i cant inagine having everything tasting like coconut and brown sugar.
Im someone who loves coconut in desserts and theyre much rare in western cuisine and i know a lot of people dont like coconut so seeing so much is like wow like i love black liquorice but its like known to be a hated thing but i know in scandinavian countries its pretty popular and considered like a national type thing like vegemite is to aussies so yeah.
