Hey guys! Today we looked into the hidden meaning of a bunch of KPOP group names. To be honest, I didn't know A LOT of these, and was really surprised while looking it up. I found a lot of them really interesting while making these video, and I hope you guys found it just as fun and interesting. Which ones did you find the most surprising? I feel like they put letters that sounded cool together and then tried to find correlating words to match...most of the time.

Yep. It seems they first come up with something cool-sounding in English and then they force an acronym no matter how awkward the result might be. At least some of them end up sounding really awkward.

The BLUE in CNBLUE is actually representing the code name of each member.
Burning = Jonghyun
Lovely = Minhyuk
Untouchable = Jungshin
Emotional = Yonghwa

CNBLUE is Code Name BLUE, at which B.L.U.E is for each member's code name. B - Burning for Jonghyun. L- Lovely for Minhyuk. U - Untouchable for Jungshin. E - Emotional for Yonghwa.

Yeah, it could have been way worse lol. I love NCT, but what does their group have to do with technology when their plan is to have a worldwide presence? I watched the 2016 NCT intro today, and it's actually really cool! Winwin and baby Taeyong saw each other with their 7th sense

When they debuted, "CODE NAME: B.L.U.E." Each letter's meaning in BLUE was the Code Name of the member. Jonghyun (Burning), Minhyuk (Lovely), Jungshin (Untouchable), Yonghwa (Emotional).
This was their initial branding until they decided to just change the meaning of CNBLUE to "Code Name Blue"

I want to help too. Their label name is FNC. FNC has three boy groups: FT Island, N Flying, CN Blue. You get FNC with the first letter from each boy group.

Fun fact: B.A.P came up with their group name cuz they thought of rice. Rice=bap so they just add special meanings to the letters. N that's how B.A.P was formed XD

SHINee's name is some what of an anomaly. Key more or less made up the meaning in english -- the original is smt like shining boys, or just a fancy was of writing shiny, but key later came up with/revealed the meaning to be the use of the english suffix "ee" an in employ(ee) -- to mean "of something" so, SHINee doesn't give light, instead they receive light/energy from fans to shine brighter on stage.
idk if you already knew that but now it's here in case anyone else is curious in the comments lol
